It can't be more expensive than buying Cultural Bullshit Armor.
I bought it once at Tier 1 - never again.
Overpriced as hell and outleveled it within 2-3 days of playtime. So not worth it.

I have a feeling the lack of crafting might bite me on the ass in the end game, but I guess Karma farming is more fun than right clicking on ore veins right?

Most crafting mats up to Orichalcum are just stuff you gather as you play. Just remember to click nodes when they're nearby anyway. You're going to be farming a bit on your first character if you intend to have level-appropriate homemade gear. But second character onwards can easily mooch off whatever you have left over from your first. My thief could make lv80 armor/trinkets at lv60.

Are the max values for weapon damage already known? I'm curious to know if the T3 cultural weapons have the max stats you can get in PvE or not. From what I've seen their damage is lower than their PvP counterparts, but I don't know if that's because they don't have the max damage range or there's something that changes it (sigil or something)

Patch notes for today's patch (yay, patch notes! Fuck, no spongebloat HP boss nerfs yet):

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/info/news/Update-Notes-September-25th-2012

Dungeon Rewards
We’ve made some significant updates to dungeon rewards. I wanted to try and clarify them here. All of these changes have been the result of an original exploit which was letting players receive upwards of 20 levels by completing a single dungeon run. We initially closed this exploit, which caused some new problems. The result is this new system which should increase dungeon rewards for players who play though them normally but help curb inflation of rewards for those who are using exploitative methods to farm them.
1) Dungeon tokens are now rewarded at the end of an explorable chain. This was done to stop players from repeatedly entering a chain and farming the first boss that dropped tokens rather than playing the entire chain. At some point in the near future, we will make up for this by making dungeon tokens a rare drop so that even players who are not completing a chain can make partial progress toward the rewards.
2) Dungeons reward 20 tokens for completion and now reward an additional 40 tokens for the first time they are completed each day. This means that if players can complete all 3 chains of a dungeon in a day, they’ll receive a total of 180 tokens, which is enough to purchase some of the smaller rewards.
3) Dungeon tokens should be account bound. This will allow players to have a single character farm tokens for their other characters.

• Updated vendors in the Ascalonian Catacombs and Caudecus’s Manor to sell level 80 versions of their unique skins rather than level 60 and 70. Players who purchased the level 60 and 70 versions will soon be given the opportunity to upgrade those to level 80 without having to use transmutation stones.

Well, now to just finetune some of the boss encounters from being overtuned railroad bullshit (CM Seraph endboss, looking at you here) and dungeons will actually be enjoyable and rewarding!

who cares about rewards when they are on par with every other max level piece?
you get the best gear within a week and then you can't improve it any more.
which is why wow-scrubs like me won't play for long and the game will never take the mmorpg throne.

The dungeons are awful, bosses take forever to kill and the loot is basically a bunch of ore and wood because it's all shit

Dungeons themselves are fine, I do like certain puzzle elements even if they are only fun for the first time until you figure them out; however, the billion HP bosses that actually punish players for doing everything the game thus far teaches them is completely retarded. Loot is borked and AFAIK they've partly addressed it this patch, and will keep addressing it in further ones. So big problems are non-random loot (read: tokens) and boss encounters mainly.

What's wrong with boss encounters? Well, let's take CM Explore Mode - Missing Seraph. It's a pretty nifty run except for four things - two major, and two minor. Let's start with minor ones:

1) Rocket launcher deflection tunnel is too fucking long. Alright, we got the idea, we know what to do - it's witty enough, reflecting rockets and taking turns. Cool! Now let's move o- oh, there's like eight of these. How fucking awesome.
2) Cannons valley - OH HI THERE AOE-COVERED VALLEY HOW DO WE TRAVERSE YOU oh we kill gunners cool awesome ide- oh, there's THREE ROWS OF THIS? And yeah, this is a bit more of a major issue as there's also a boss there and I suspect the fact that she runs at the group while everything else stands in place isn't intended. Did I mention she does AoE too? Because she does!
3) Patrol dog with a million HPs: Yeah, okay, I get it, you're a dog, you cast Fear. Can we move on? No? Okay, let's chip your HPs away for a while, this sure is exciting.
4) FINAL FUCKING BOSS. So what'd we learn so far? Debuff, resurrect downed group members, cripple, dodge, play with aggro? Forget that shit lol, none of it works. Boss goes auto-invincible every 20 seconds, and anyone ending up in the AoE, which, by the way, COVERS 9/10TH OF THE AREA AGAIN might as well give up and die and res sooner; is immune to crippling effects and randomly charges a motherfucker half to death if motherfucker doesn't have a dodge available, and did I say dodge? Oh lol, that was just used to evade the AoE that covers half the room! Yeah, by the way, forget pets and melee for this fight too. As an added bonus, please to take a nine hundred million HP pool and instant reset if your thief drops a stealth field. Hooray! Enjoy your endboss folks, we outsourced it to the same people that created the exciting boss fights of DEHR!

Up until that boss I actually really enjoyed the instance, all the previous 3 gripes were just annoyances.

I kept thinking 'What are combos and how do I trigger them?'
Turns out someone made a nice tool to figure out X + Y = Combo Z

I found this information on the wiki. The great thing about both that and this is that they don't tell you how good the effects/affects are. Seriously, "Inflicts burning on the enemy". How much damage (I assume it's based off the normal formula, but does it go by the person who made the field or the one to trigger the effect?). How long? Do condition enhancement mods work on it (The answer is: maybe, it depends on the combo).

Finally hit pvp rank 20. Took forever since bunker guardians don't rack up a lot of points during a map. (No capping, no NPCs, some games fights never get to you). ended on a 5-game streak of tournament gold chests, bought 15 or so gold dolyak chests and a pair of salvage kits. Some pretty nice drops including flame legion weapons for most of my builds. :>

it's not heartseeker, it's the fact that you can move around fastest and simply cap all the points. and you still can win most 1on1 encounters.
Engineer is faster (perma-switftness) and better at 1v1, you just have to press around twenty more buttons than the average thief

Also, it's hilarious that even after heartseeker was nerfed you still find those guys spamming it.

Been shuffling through some elementalist builds and weapon setups for sPvP for some time, and I think I've finally found one that is all around pretty good.

The build goes:
Dagger/Dagger
10 fire(Spell slinger)
10 Air(Zephyr's Boon)
10 Earth(Elemental Shielding)
20 Water(Soothing Disruption, and Cleansing wave)
20 Arcane(Elemental Attunement, Renewing Stamina)
With Knight's Amulet and Superior Runes of Earth for your equipment, you're running with 22,035 hp.
Utilities are Cleansing fire, Armor of Earth, and Lightning flash. Three stun breaks, condition cleansing, a teleport, stability, and protection to ensure you don't get taken down easily.

The key to this build is maintaining your aura's for the boons and protection it provides. With an aura up you gain fury(+20% critical chance), swiftness, and protection. This come's from shocking aura in your Air Attunement, Frost Aura in water, and finally using the combo field ring of fire, and the finisher magnetic grasp gives you fire aura. There is a fourth one with the runes of earth which activates when you're below 20% hp, which is magnetic aura which reflects all projectiles giving you extra chance to get hp your hp up. I use signet of restoration as my heal to ensure constant hp upkeep, because there won't be a second where you won't be casting something. If you have to retreat from a battle because of low hp, spamming your autoattack on nothing brings your hp up nicely to get back into the fight.

I've been messing around with it today, and its pretty damn powerful. Brought down people in 1v2s, blows up people in team fights, great mobility, and could get away from zergs. You'll have trouble in 1v1 situations against good kiters, but if you play right you'll win the majority. Its also ridiculously fun and flashy to play. I'd be playing some random matches and people were pestering me to join their tournament teams, so I guess I must be doing something right. :P

Since you're kwanzanian idk where codex guild is, but if you want to play on European server, choose Seafarer's Rest, that's where we are. You are able to change the character's server anyway, including transfer between American and European ones.
