I cleared all the town dungeons and cleared the entire swamp already. Since I didn't know where else to go, apart from teleporting with the well to the desert or the fire area (obviously not for my level), I got the hirelings and stripped them of their keys. Already cleared the Temple of Moo, 80% of the Dark Warrior Fort (the Jousters wreck me) and am at the end of the Cyclops cave. I got the Crusader title as well, so I can enter the castles too. Temple of Moo is obviously a low level dungeon, but there is no key that I've found anywhere apart from the inventory of the hirelings, which seems weird.
Sounds about right. Theres a cave near Baywatch worth checking out as well. There's a lot of ways to get stronger, like loot caches in the overworld or abusing wells. Taking out the various monster spawning grounds is generally good xp too.

She could've published her reviews on the Codex, her brand of venom would've fit perfectly here. Where was she from that she didn't have enough income for even basic hardware upgrades? I got my rx460 for 120 euro, which doesn't seem a lot, even for a Second World country.

Well, i don't remember where i got the keys but by the time i cleared the swamps, i had 3 of them (at least 2 didn't come from hirelings), i think there is one in the cyclops dungeon.

By the way, when i don't know what to do, i check this website, it's the bible for M&M III, IV and V : http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/pc/mm3/

It's weird you cleared the swamp to be only lvl 10, there's a lot of xp missing, about 5-6 level i would say.
If you're up for it, you could always say REDHOT to a mirror, careful, it's really hot out there, don't wander too far. ;-)

Also, it's really easy to miss some early dungeons, even if checking the world map (there is some maps out there but not in game )

And about the jousters, just you wait to meet the Top Jouster, this one is a mean bastard.

Strange Fellow Russian bots, probably but i was thinking some people might have multi accounts and some other might stick a vote without having played the game but you'll probably tell me people don't do this.

Yes, I got 2 keys from the Cyclops dungeon, but they are duplicates of the ones I stripped from the hirelings. I had completely missed that dungeon before going to Swamp Town somehow. I cleared it already and am in a different dungeon now. I already used the redhot password, I found it on the walls of Swamp Town's dungeon, it was intense. Either way, the game is weighing me down with its sheer immensity. There's a dungeon every two steps and it has like a bajillion zones - the swamp, the firelands, the beginning map, the desert, the snow area that is visible from the edges of the swamp, the sci-fi part that I know is coming, probably a whole slew of other areas I don't know about, etc. And World of Xeen is even more humongous. And that's not the fake kind of huge, like you waste more time on loading screens and traveling, this is all gameplay all the time, and you can travel at lightning speeds through the world. I guess these kinds of games are designed to be played for weeks, even months.

I absolutely think people will vote without having played the game, but the more likely exolanation is what fantadomat said - the sample group is simply much larger in this poll.

If you killed cyclops, you can probably wipe the floor with jousters, just be careful with the top jouster, he attacks twice as much, that hurts.

There's also the dungeon with rangers and archers and the evil archers focus their attacks on the druid if you have one this one is fun, if you mess around teleporting places, you may come across beholders and then die.

Edit : Also, in fountainhead, the fountain that spawned monsters will give you xp for gold.

Strange Fellow of course it is, still, there is probably quite a number of fakes.

Jousters do much more damage than cyclops, though, one-shotting pretty much everyone in the party. Cyclops don't do that.

In the jousters dungeon, teleporting inside closed rooms (one or two spots) will give you access to chests with very good equipment. (might be hard / impossible to open with a ninja if he doesn't have good skulduggery boosters, that's why i give more xp to the ninja anytime i can)

You could try to mess around there, avoiding jousters, pretty easy with teleport.

I don't think I can teleport inside dungeons, the spell failed every time I tried that.

It fails in some dungeons, not all of them, i did it in this one, besides, some areas are only reachable through teleportation (in this dungeon at least, or there is some mechanism to remove some walls )

By the way, i'm using the spawn mode in my MM3 replay, that might explain a part of the xp gap.

You can always use the arena to get more xp as well. Mostly it's from quests and such though. I think you get a nice chunk for recharging the crystal cave, for example.

Levels don't matter too much though, once you get past the first 10 or so so your melee guys can fire off multiple attacks and you've got access to most of the utility spells. Equipment makes a much bigger difference, having obsidian/gemstone weapons will annihilate most early game enemies.

I am kinda curious how you're playing. Like, what buffs/preparations do you use before dungeon diving, what spells do you use, what is your party setup?

A thing that annoyed me in the older MM games was the effect of wizard's eye. It revealed the whole part of the minimap and you had to go the full map to see what squares are not explored. It would have been far better if they greyed out the unexplored squares,i am not talking about full grey as not explored but being in a different colour or something.

I just noticed I voted for mm8 by accident instead of mm7.

Mostly attacking with A, but when I see something tough, I buff with Blessed, Power Shield (on the squishies) and Heroism. Sometimes Holy Bonus when I need more MAXXORZ DAMAGE. If I use Kastore for casting spells, I usually have him use Energy Blast or some AoE if it's needed. I've found that CC is not very reliable, fighting 2 cyclopes was tough and I tried to Paralyze them, but it worked only once in like 6 casts. I might need more Accuracy. It also wore off too fast.

Interesting, i always renew the 4 buffs + 4 elemental protections, you never know when you need them and they last the whole day anyway, well, with the spawn mod, time flows slower so it starts to be worth it, still, it's a kind of a chore, a shame there isn't day of protection / day of sorcery spells in this one.

CC is reliable with heroism and good enough weapons, there's a few monsters immune to it.

Did you use the coins in the adequat dungeon ?
You could get some good boosts there.

I was kinda hoping there are mass versions of the buffs, I guess not. I haven't used the coins yet, I still don't know where to use them.

MM games are pretty mass when it comes to buffs,in older games you could use 3-4 buff spells that last a day.

I meant Mass Blessed for example, where you only click a single time and everyone is buffed.

Slithercut dungeon, you'll have to guess/find the missing brother name to pass at some point though.
Each quatloo gives you +5 (i think) in one stat but if you try with someone not having one in his inventory, he dies.

Yeah, about buffs, World of Xeen is superior in that regard with mass effect buff spells and there is the "day of" spells so you you get everything with 2 casts (although i recast one from the sorcerer for a more powerful result so 3 casts against 39 for MM3 with 8 chars ^^' )

I generally used the temple buffs. The gold cost is trivial and if you do it on the last day of the week it's a level 10 version of each buff. Makes a huge difference in the early game and saves SP for utility spells like jump/teleport/cure foo etc. Later on I'll abuse a level up fountain with buffs I cast myself.

That lever puzzle in the Fortress of Fear... I know what I had to do, but it was so tedious checking which lever does what, I just teleported to the Mummy King with a spell. It was also very fun to miss him with my 100SP Holy Word.

Sure.
Fireball and Lightning Bolts are nearly always useful.
Sleep is useful in the beginning.
Web can be effective.
But sadly most clever spells fail in the M&M ganes, so it's safer to rely on those that are likely to work, like buffs and damage spells.
