The Bioschlock generation is going to love this garbage.

Jesus fucking Christ, FPSes on consoles are fucking pathetic. The speed is slow, the aiming is retarded. Check how this poor consoletard tries to aim at one of the imps towards the begining of the video and how imprecise the analog sticks are.

Not to mention the fact that pistol seems to have an alternative way of firing which consists of pointing it at a monster for a few seconds to get a lock and then getting a homing pistol shot. I kid you not.

It's one of the upgrades, I saw one that was just a charged shot.

Weapons level up and get new skills now, it should be moved to GRPGD since it's basically a real time blobber.

Even casuals pointed out how much of an inept retard the player was
This sure puts a lot of faith in the upcoming Polygon D44M review

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
"Demonic presence at unsafe levels."

...WTF kinda alarm is that?

Also, Doom Marine at 22 health, glory kills an Imp, fully heals himself.

I'll admit - I could probably enjoy cruising through the singleplayer campaign of this game, if it wasn't for the fact that this is a Bethesda game, and those are a NO NO.

EDIT: That Doctor that drones on and on to the player sounds like Optimus Prime, but still makes me think of Michael Ironside for some reason.

Holy fuck, I knew I recognized that voice. I think they actually got Peter Cullen to voice the Doctor.

I do love how Doomguy just rips the monitor off and throws it away as soon as the doctor starts talking. Even Doomguy thinks audio logs suck ass

Gotta love how Beth denied all review copies (sry if this is old news, but I find it hilarious). Guess they needed time to make sure only 10/10 reviews make it though.

They're really embracing their mantle as the rapist of old classics with this one.

That is so Doom 3. Why would they ever start off by immediately dropping you into cutscene shit? Just slam drop the player into your E1M1 equivalent and blast them with some metal. I guess they're afraid people won't get a AAA vibe without that stuff?

That's setting aside how bad controller quasi-arena shooting looks.

That looked absolutely terrible. I wonder if they're pissed that Polygon apparently got some total dimwit to play the game. I mean, even if Doom4 ends up to be trash (and it isn't looking good), vids by players like this do no favors at all.

I saw a PC gameplay to avoid that kind of thing but then the player kept getting lost even though there's automap and quest compass on the top of the screen.

What a load of ass. Where's the music? I watched for few minutes waiting for an epic guitar riff to start so it would have felt even slightly like Doom but it didn't happen. Of course I knew it wasn't going to happen but I just couldn't believe how offensively bland and pointless this is.

It only plays music during monster arenas.

I'll be the harbinger of Decline, but I've been watching TB's stream of the SP campaign and I find it surprisingly good. The levels are big, interconnected and sprawling with lots of shit and secrets to find (the third level or so, I think, has 8 secrets to find). This is something you never see from AAA FPS nowadays, so kudos to id for at least trying to create good levels (and they do look good). Good old keys and locked doors are back and one level I watched was pretty non-linear from the get-go. The main complaint I have with them so far is that they're mostly arena-centric and pretty static; they don't really open as you go like they did in the older titles, with whole portions of the level opening to reveal more areas and monsters.

Monsters so far have only been Imps, Hell Knights and some dudes with shields. There is monster infighting, hurrah! Haven't seen that in years. Glory kills are, predictably, very repetitive and become boring. Staggering monsters pose no real threat which is quite annoying, as it makes them alot less threatening. The Hell Knights don't seem to fuck around and are pretty fast, though. There is a story but you can mostly ignore it. HOWEVER there is at least two instances in the early game in which you are locked in a room for story purposes. In a fucking Doom game. Like, seriously? At least you could skip that shit in Doom 3 (not in the BFG edition though).

Overall I feel like the Bethesda marketing team completely and royally fucked up marketing this game. The multiplayer bit is abysmally shitty but the singleplayer looks really decent so far, at least much better than what I expected and I've been very skeptical since day one. They should've shown the SP portion a lot more instead on focusing on the terrible Halo clone that is the MP bit.
