I don't mind the early 3D graphics. The textures looked pretty good, left tons to your imagination, blacks were actually black, everything was crisp and easy to tell apart, the shadows were drawn into the textures and looked good. The simpler everything was, the easier it was to keep it together with some actual art direction. Now everything is a mushy mix of grey shit.

I've tried searching the speed running communities but I couldn't find a real answer -- why does this guy skip the super secret level (Grosse map32)??

Any codexers have the answer? You'd logically think if you're speed running a full game and include one secret, you'd make it 100% complete by adding the OTHER secret level?

Quick research says both secret levels aren't required for consideration... But... Why?

That depends on the category of the speedrun, if it is an 100% run, then all the secrets are included, if it is any%, just got to finish the game as quickly as possible

Please define 100%. What if someone says: "meh... that's not 100%. You just ran through all the secrets, but skipped all the other interesting parts of the level."

Yeah, speedrun categories can be a bit of a mess, but I think the consensus is that 100% means every stage and every secret

As long as the sum of 3 counters totals to 100%, it's 100%. Otherwise we'd be talking 300% speedruns, right?

Yeah, I actually find 3D graphics from mid 90s to mid 00s much, much, much more appealing than the effect-overloaded crap of today. The sweet spot of good-looking 3D graphics would be from about 1998 to 2005.

Speedruns are NEVER legit, almost nobody cares about so called "glitchless runs" theres like a handful of people that like those, so speedrunning is finnishing as fast as possible, doom just has very few glitches.
I.e. if there was a way to skip 5 maps ppl would use it.

Its not a 100% run!
Anyway: Finnishing Industrial Zone takes longer then doing Wolfenstein, thats all there is to it.

They have no fucking clue what made the original games great. Who are these assholes? Boring dickheads. That video kills me.

So we have the exec producer, art man, gen mgr and tech director on stage. Where's the lead designer for this game, I wonder...

Yes, linear level design, slow movement, Borederlands style loot fountains and the try-hard Brûtal"Doom" junior gore are definitely things to be proud of.

Classified.
The worrying part is people getting hyped up over this shit. The brief introduction to someone awkwardly playing the original Doom looked way more fun.
