Also, geez nobody is talking about how barebones TOW is as an RPG. Builds are non-existent, there is no pickpocket, no traps/mines, not even grenades! Not that much weapon variety, no gambling, no minigames, no haggling, no real sense of economy either in the world or in the numbers, it's such a lazy, lazy game. Why all the praise? Even forgetting about the story, how can you say the outer worlds has 60 dollars worth of gameplay in it?

It tries exactly zero new things.

While it isn't anything new , i think the way the companions works is a major step up and imo raises the bar when comes to party games. They're much present and NPC actually acknowledge them being with you much more and much better implement than most games.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Tried to listen to Cohh, but couldn't hear him from all the shekel jingling in the back.

Nah, you just can't expect someone like Cohh to start ranting about wokeness. Also with him it's "polished meciocrity >>>> flawed but outstanding", of course he'd be impressed with TOW.

Resolved the mystery of why the colours in this game are a mess (taken from polygon)

This is not to say that Obsidian hasn’t considered accessibility. The game works with the Xbox Adaptive Controller, for instance. There’s no colorblind mode, but that’s only because Tim Cain — one of the game’s creators, and one of the folks behind the original Fallout — is completely colorblind and built the game from the ground up to meet his needs.

He actually said this in one interview but I will not bother to search for it. It didn't appear so important at the time.

Anyway, it's a dick move. If the guy went blind from so much dick then he should retire instead of forcing his gay vision on everyone.
How much dick is that? A lot?

What’s the completion rate? It’s a decent proxy for DLC sales.
Completion rate of what? TOW or PoE1? As for whether it's a decent proxy, is it, though? I think it's common knowledge most people don't complete games, but that doesn't mean they didn't like it and won't buy the DLC. Also, the infestation of "in medias res" DLC is exactly due to people not finishing games but buying the DLC anyway. It's a much better incentive to buy the DLC if you don't have to complete the game in order to enjoy it.
Well, SteamSpy doesn't allow me to view the number of sold copies for the base game or the DLC.

So going solely on achievement stats on Steam: 12.9% have completed the main game, while 7.6% and 5.1% of players have finished WM1 and WM2 respectively.

By getting paid :). The game have only three types of alien enemies, the bugs, the moneys and the lizards. If you add the humans as enemy, you get whole 4 types of enemy. Then you have only 6 types of weapons,AR,pistol, shotgun, sniper,Gatling gun and a grenade launcher. The game does lack any real content.

there is no pickpocket,

You need to be level 40 with sneak to unlock pickpocket.

no minigames,

Just like Bloodlines 1. Hard checks everywhere. If anything this is feature that's makes more RPG than games with the minigame because it doesn't matter if your ''in character ' skill sucking if you can open all doors because your actual skill or pure patience of save scuming is all that matters.

Wow this cohh video is pathetic. His list of "great, foundational stuff that signals [incline]":
  • The game has a skill system. It groups skills in an innovative way (no matter if it is pointless considering the broken economy of the game)
  • The great engaging story (what)?
  • Sweeping choices that alter the world. (no problems here)
  • The game doesn't crash/is a finished product.
Fuck. I mean this is how low the bar is huh?

Guys I'm confused with peoples impressions of the game on here.

Can you all please rate this post with YES rate if you like the game, OVERALL, even if it has flaws and problems - OR - vote NO, if you dislike the game and don't think it has any or very few redeeming qualities.

Thanks!
Reported for "no" harvesting.

i'm fought. it seems sort of almost decent, after all it's a firefly total conversion for fallout 3 with an almost-but-not-so-much bearable interface, which is a lot ot ask these days, but on the other hand i'm completely baffled by the difficulty settings: anything other than supernova offers no challenge and no interest.
supernova itself feels tackled on because "zomg! you need to drink to survive111!!" but then 10 minutes into the game you meet a river and can't drink. "mods on the workshop will fix it", oh wait... not that it matters much, an hour or two in and needs stop being an issue. they actually never were. fights offer no challenge in itself, you either have enough dps to overcome them or you're horribly slaughtered, strafing helps only so much so all the enemy hp and dps bloat do is force you to exploit some bad ai, making it glitch against imperfect collision detection and making it get stuck on some obstacle. all the while you keep watching your character being raped in 2 seconds by every mob. load game galore. the new vats is pretty retarded because all it does is give you some free shots which will always connect to the weak spot.
i'm beginning to think also there's no respawn which i fear will do for a very linear experience, akin to the latest divine divinity's "stray off the invisible path we know but you don't and be brutally raped".
so, in short, anything other than supernova is pointless. supernova is retarded. my only hope was that it has some sort of ship and crew management/customization, but while i'm not sure about the ship i'm fairly sure there isn't any for crew, despite their permadeath being in desperate need of randomly generated members.

ps: the moonhead guy is the most retarded replacement for the vault boy ever.

This game is made for the current teenagers and they love it. Can you really blame them? I as high intellectual (and others) just have to come to terms with themselves that they are not the target audience for video games.

The system is flawed but it's somewhat innovative and make some sense. Strength actually increases intimidation , as Int increases long guns and persuade, if you're experienced with rangend weapons , you might know at least something when comes to long , heavy and hand guns etc.. It has some good idea that's fall flat mainly because the game difficulty is insanely easy and general balance. But nothing that J.Sawyer can't hadle a patch or two make better. FNV have the same problem after level 20.

Well for once the journos weren't wrong when they said TOW is a very "safe" game.
Doesn't stand out much in any way. Playing it is pleasant enough, rarely tedious (unlike PoE et al!), you can pay attention to the story or not it doesn't really matter too much, you can build your character however you want and still get by on Supernova. Do, like, whatever you want maaaaaaan.
