It has to be a self insert of someone or something. A few of them look too similar or have the exact same styles to them for it not to be. Look at blue and gold hair.

Edit: Pics of the Obsidian people? Do they have family or something that look like they got an extra chromosome?

That collage is a cherry pick, there are plenty of attractive female NPCs.
Nuh-uh. There is only one (mildly) attractive girl in the entire game and that is this chick (Celia Robbins). Somehow she slipped through Obsidian's vigorous and thorough vetting process.

Returning to Alanah Pierce's observation, it's funny that in this game where a majority of Codexers seem to agree that the women are deliberately ugly, two out of three female companions (Ellie and Parvati) are actually described in-world as being attractive enough to be fashion models.
Well it really depends on what they model. For all we know they could be models of socks or nose/pig rings.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Considering they have been living of a single diet of salty fish their entire lives, I would have assumed they would look like Innsmouth people, so going by that standard they are "attractive".

I don't trust Alanah Pierce's insights on anything since she gave Halo Infinite a handjob for its visuals when everyone else's eyes were melting out of their skull.

Also: That link doesn't go anywhere, can you repost the info somehow?

It's definitely not part of a global feminist/social justice strategy to redefine beauty standards for women in media

Definitely not that, nothing to see here

That looks like a 13-year-old boy.

That some weird looking 13 year old boy that you met.

Everything is possible with soy products today. Just look at Greta if you want to know how disfigured your children can look like if the only nutritiens are coming from this diet.

whats the point of having beautiful women in game if you cant fuck them
game would be even worse if they were all super hot, but then you learn they're all asexual lesbians

Short hair has nothing to do with being cute/gorgeous/fucking ugly

I just didn't have a "these chicks are all ugly" reaction to TOW at all. The short hair and "all women are smart and all men are stupid" agenda, sure. Ugly women? Not really. I think it's just their weird graphical style. Mass Effect: Andromeda had an ugly women problem though.

Dude if you depend on everybody in Codex giving glowing recommendation about an RPG you would probably stop playing RPG altogether after 2005 or so.

Nearly every game in the Codex has flaws and will have people critique it. Underrail is one if not the only few exceptions where it is universally regarded as very good in the Codex.

Go to some pirate site, try it out yourself man.

I know I should decide for myself and not take the opinions of others as truth or gospel, I already am ignoring basically every game "journalist", but I find it difficult to choose what games are worth playing.
In these last years I have grown so out of touch with gaming in general because so much of it has gone down the shitter.

I'm playing this and... wow!

I know some people here said the writing was bad, but...

I'm currently at that scene where Parvati confesses you her love with some mechanic chick and wants to get drunk while asking for your relationship advice.
Just as a reminder, she knows you for ~1-2 days at that point
In addition to the absurdity of the situation of why anyone would even bother you with that stuff after knowing you for a few hours, all of her lines are just written so... horribly.
The hamfistedness with which they write about asexuality is just :lol::lol:

And that's just one scene - the rest of the game is not that much better. Everything falls apart as soon as you stop to think about it for a second.
All of this quite honestly fits in the "so bad it is unintentionally funny" category, like some b-movie that thinks it's actually good.
I'm having a blast with it - definitely not for the reasons the developers intended, but I'm not regretting my purchase. Laughing my ass off here.

That collage is a cherry pick, there are plenty of attractive female NPCs. The short/pinned up hair thing is real though (but probably due to having zero physics).
If it's for physics then why that computer woman with static image have it too?

Codex whiners being thrown off by graphical quality methinks.

It's not a quality issue. You need to be a decent artist to draw women that ugly that consistently. Its more like the character design is an indicator of what sort of game it wants to be. Anyway everyone knew this game was going to be targeted at zoomer console players ever since the fat man rambled on about triangles and whatnot a few years ago.

And this has always felt like a $9.99 w/ all the DLC during the Christmas 2021 steam sale sort of purchase.
