Parvati was written by two people and it really shows. Whoever did the earlier part of her character did a much better job than the latter half.

If this game had good writing we'd be able to fix her illness. Oh if you tell her to "Focus on your work" then it breaks her character and she can't talk to you anymore and it says she dies in her ending even if she is alive.

Some are irredeemable edge lords for sure but I think a more mainstream complaint is that this is just incredibly banal and boring. Why the fuck should you care about it at all?

How Fallout are we talking here? One of my favorite things about Fallout 1/2/New Vegas is that you're told to find a thing and with metaknowledge you can immediately go to the thing; there's no forced "you have to go here and do this then go here and do this then go here and do this" like in most RPGs (including Arcanum, unfortunately) at least until after you've resolved your primary objective (though Fallout 1 lets you go after the military base and Cathedral in the order of your choosing and there are multiple ways of dealing with them).

Precisely this. Arcade Ganon was gay and nobody cared because his entire personality did not revolve around his sexuality. Neither does Indian Girl's, she has personality besides her sexuality... but who am I kidding? it's mostly about her sexuality... That and machinery.

They're interesting in Fallout games because they typically provide information about the world before the bombs fell(which is already sparse)

Having terminals full of WHACKY and ZANY corporation things isn't interesting.

Fuck,i just went out exploring and doing some companions quests with the indian dyke and the perma blackfaced jap girl. In my exploration they decided to banter......it ended up with more than 5 minutes lecture on genders using the ship's navigation computer and the cleaning bot as examples. At some point i just went nut from that garbage and begun shooting shit only to not hear them. Fuck,it was so cringy,that my ears begun bleeding.
