well well wellWell shit. Not a reason to really beat it now.
hello friend We have been defeated.
I've been replaying this to get to the content I missed, there are still people playing it, even on Kingsmouth, I frequently get to see two to five people playing on the same session as me, so it isnt a depressive ghost town yet, however they basically crippled the game mechanics with a sledgehammer and turned the end game into Diablo Immortal, the gameplay is basically you winning on autopilot until you getting to the end game then it becomes a Hellraiser version of hell where you are fucked on the most painful ways possible by monetisation.
If anyone is still interested, just assume you are playing a well written walking simulator and pretend the end game doesnt exist, for your sanity. Youtube is indeed the smart move but I wish to still properly see the areas I missed.
You can play Secret World Legends for free. Which does suck on account of the devs removing the more freeform and interesting combat and level up system for a much more boring one with preset builds and no build diversity. In addition to removing end game dungeons, truancating the interesting puzzle missions, intergrating DLC missions in a way that snaps continuity in half, and being abandoned blatantly unfinished.Anyone can play it for free right now and for the past 5+ years at least. But nobody does cuz it kinda sucks.
I mean, we care enough that both the original writer of the game worked on it and I spent a bunch of time making sure it doesn't shit on the lore. You can play Secret World Legends for free. It's much harder to get The Secret World but it still works, the servers are still up, people still play it, and it's s much better game in every way. The mystery and plot builds more gradually and diagetically. Even zone progression had more thought put into it. If you can find a way to get back into The Secret World you'll quickly realize just how much Secret World Legends butchered the game.
Oh and there's a Secret World TTRPG coming out that's blatantly a low budget 5e clone. Which shows how much Funcom don't care.
You didn't care enough to find a ruleset that would fit Secret World very well. You just picked 5E because it's easy. There is nothing stopping you from using an open version of Basic. Which already has baked in mechanics for investigation and magic spells that are more of a fit for Secret World. Or even better making your own custom ruleset that would fit the theme and enable the mechanics to actually represent the feeling and intention of Secret World. Okay fine you wrote lore for your half arsed TTRPG that someone else had already written for the game do you want a round of applause for that?I mean, we care enough that both the original writer of the game worked on it and I spent a bunch of time making sure it doesn't shit on the lore. You can play Secret World Legends for free. But goddamn someone bumped the thread again.
That's true. I wasn't involved in the project at all when it was pitched or authorized or licensed by other people in the company. I was just checking it after the contract was signed. You didn't care enough to find a ruleset that would fit Secret World very well. You just picked 5E because it's easy. No one who doesn't already know what Secret World is, is buying a Secret World TTRPG. Especially with the complete lack of marketing this game has. Oddly enough, 5e parasites cling to 5e. And nothing else. Even if it's also 5e.The reason they choose 5e is because its the only system people are going to buy enmasse.
Who the fuck cares about Basic and Fate when using 5e will allows you to sell double the amount
Take it easy there amigo, I was agreeing with you, their page is now fake news.zombra, suck a bag of dicks.
I already play The Secret World but I'd be happy to participate in an in game meet up/lynch mob if one is organized. Templars rise up.As I mentioned it before and I want this thread to stay alive, would anyone like a guide to downloading and playing The Secret World? There's still a small community who play it. And I could organize a meetup in game quite easily.
