How's Bit.Trip Runner? Good or indie hipster bullshit?

It's sort of like the original Pitfall (Atari 2600) on steroids where you can't stop running and have to jump/slide to a beat. Pretty nice.

Also of note, no sales on any of the EA games except The Sims. Guess I won't be 'buying' Deathspank. :smug:

Pissed about that EA thing. I really wanted Risk Factions.

Got 3 tickets so far, not sure what I'm gonna get for a prize first. I actually kinda like a lot of the prizes, like I was planning on buying Alien Breed 2 and 3, but I can get 2 for free via tickets. Plus TF2 shades, obviously.

Mostly, yeah. You can get one ticket by joining a Steam group, and if it's like the Treasure Hunt sale there'll be 1 gimme each day that anyone can get, and the rest are tied to games.

Of course if you already own it, you can get them: Got three for Toki Tori, Bit Trip, and S&S. Honestly debating whether or not I want to join the massive Summer Group. I'm not going to get all 100 tickets and honestly the prizes aren't that great.

Since it was mentioned I bought bit trip runner. Fastest path to nerd rage a game has ever done to me. It was 2.50 but still

I also have to ask, in a game where you are constantly running and have to see things clearly to avoid them, why did they add motion blur to the objects?

Nice I was wondering when the summer sale was going to kick in. Hoping that Victoria II will be a daily deal, really want to get that one as well as Semper Fi.

Curse you Paradox for actually making games good enough for me wanting to spend my money on. :x

Hmmm. Sort of kind of tempted by borderlands, but I've played it before on someone else's machine and didn't exactly gasp with amazement. Nothing else appealing there that I don't already have. Does the DLC in the GOTY edition add enough to make it worth picking up?

The pack for Monday Night Combat is kind of a joke when you consider that the community for that game is pretty much dead by now.

Edit: oh noes! no dragon age at 75%! Guess i'll wait for christmas. Or next summer :smug:

Looking prices over this sale is a disappointment. Worse than the Holiday sale in terms of obscure titles. Example: Some crappy ARPG called 'Loki' I was thinking about during the Holiday sale is only 33% off now versus the 75% off it was back then -- and I highly doubt that will be a daily.

Edit: Also no 5 for $5 indie packs. I guess they decided to go more for the gimmick/promos rather than huge raw savings of the Holiday Sale. Shame as last year's Summer Sale was bigger than the Holiday Sale that preceded it.

Borderlands is a game I do not regret buying. For 2.50 more getting all the DLC is easily worth it. Most of the DLC areas are actually pretty substantial.

Not really. If you didn't like the base game the DLC doesn't add any significant changes -- it's just more of the same.

Zeno Clash is great fun, not so much for its gameplay but just for its crazy art style and story. Not something you see every day, and while the story mode is fairly short, there's little to no filler to speak of, and the challenge mode is enjoyable if you like that sort of thing. And to be fair, it's probably one of the only games that does first-person brawler well.

Tropico 3 is great, basically city management but with a dictatorial twist. I don't know if it has the longevity of other titles in the genre, especially as there seem to be a few strategies almost guaranteed to win, but the scenarios are pretty challenging and will keep you occupied for a while. That said, turn the music off after a while, or you'll go insane.

Anomaly looks interesting and I've heard great things about Space Rangers 2, but I've never played either.

Another good deal (non-daily): Oddbox for $5 includes Abe's Exoddus, Abe's Oddysee, Munch's Oddysee and Stranger's Wrath.
