Valve CEO Gabe Newell has said, speaking to The New York Times, that there was a better chance Valve would disintegrate, with its workers scattering, than the company would be sold. "It's way more likely we would head in that direction than say, 'Let's find some giant company that wants to cash us out and wait two or three years to have our employment agreements terminate.'"

Dissolution of Valve confirmed.

Is this the end of the Gaben? Will Steam be transformed into a giant steaming turd of faggotry and furry shit? Stay tuned...

obviously BS

They tried this with EA recently too. Seems like they are using the rumor to get their name out there or something.

Finally. I find this very admirable of him. It's an incredibly rare principle to have. As long as he sticks to this principle he will stay on top of the world and I'll be glad to know someone like him is there instead of one of the 99% of people out there who would sell their company immediately and unashamedly to anyone just to fill their pockets. This is the single principle that all the greatest game developers of yesteryear needed but never had. They all sold out and abandoned everything they created just for a larger bank account, and they all went into decline as designers and never recovered. They all need to adopt this attitude if they want to be seen as anything other than extreme opportunist marketeers.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Ricochet was bad.

I was a fan of HL and HL2, but somehow I don't give a fuck about HL3. When it's out I'll buy and play it, but until then I'm going to ignore it. They'd better make Portal 3 soon though. I want another Portal!

... and is there any hype anyway? In the days of minuscule single player campaigns, who is excepting a proper "old days" style adventure? I mean, without those multiplayer slash social crap. Not that multiplayer slash social crap is a bad thing in the all cases, but HL was all about classic FPP experience. So, to be successful, Valve must creating HL3 in the true retro spirit, e.g, they must (they should, at least) acknowledging fact, they creating a metaphor of classic FPP game, a quotation about it, not a dead serious game about dead serious problems coming from HL universe. Too much years passed away, it is too late to be serious about HL...

At the same time, I got the chance to “see the future”. You see, in addition to their game software, Valve has started developing hardware. Worried by Microsoft’s and Apple’s tendency to claim a bigger and bigger cut of its profits (in order to allow users access to Valve games through the computers that run their software), Valve has started experimenting with its own machines that give you the ability to run these games without a (Microsoft or Apple-controlled) computer. I’ve signed an NDA so I can’t reveal much more. I’ll just say that I really saw the future. (it’s not a small deal to see a virtual but highly realistic alien stand beside a real human in the same room with you, walk around the room and wink at you. And all that without a screen, a projector or even a computer near you…)
Half-Life 3 confirmed for Steam-powered virtual reality Gaben wondergoggles! I may never know the touch of a woman but at least I'll be able to play pretend with Alyx. Just will have to wait for a 75% off sale for the groin adapter for the goggles and I'll be set!

youa re dumb Jaesun.
In Jaesun's defense it sounds like Wadjet Eye games were denied for a long while until they got in via Indie Royale bundle. Then Valve's been adding them more regularly.

And I just dunno about that mod Mr. Tzaero. A window from the bathroom to the living room? Truly the Combine have made a dystopian future.

Yes you are a retard Kosmonaut. They ONLY put Wadjet Eye games on STEAM in a bundle. When a game is released they will NEVER put them on there. In fact they denied Primordia.

Fucking GabeN.
