This is most likely the Steam Box -- though keep in mind everything is subject to change in the conceptional phase:

So, uh - what is the "steambox" that isn't a steambox then?

Regarding the real steambox, how is it different from the Xbawks?

Not that it's a bad concept, I mean the xbawks earned tonnes of $$$ while being essentially an inferior PC, I can see why people want to take a chunk of that market.

What does this do in this thread, was it the intervention of a faggot mod?

What's with the sudden boom of pre-built PCs disguised as consoles?

Steambox, Piston, those retarded Android plataforms, the nVidia mini grill...

I have no problem with the couch. In my experience, a 4x300x700mm fibreboard is just perfect for KB+M on your lap on the couch. It's sturdy, light, doesn't bend and is compact. No need for shit like controllers unless a game particularly benefits from one in your experience. I have yet to find such a game. I hate the wobbliness of the analogue sticks.

Well, I haven't tried that combination, yet, but having something else on my laps (besides tons of mistress or such) while I gaming is... well... a bit awkward.
M+K is meant for desk and chair while comfy couch is... dunno... analog is out of question, something on my laps too, Carmac rift occulus... dunno, kinetics definitely not, maybe "new-biometric-Gabe-gimzo" (whatever that is) will be viable salvation. Dunno. For now, couch hasn't a proper couchable controller. For the FPS at least. Probably couch isn't a perfect environment for such games. But should be!

I assume if you can hook it up to your television you could probably just as easily hook it up to a monitor and play it at your desk? Pricing is the issue. If it isn't significantly less expensive than building your own/buying a custom built at a local shop then it is fairly pointless.

Yup. Probably. But that leaves us with unexplored couch potential. And, dare I say, couch has much of its gaming capability untapped.

Tell you what's really good, big squishy chair. Big squishy chair with huge arm rests that you can put a mousepad and mouse on to control your HTPC.

More like another Android. The Steambox will be like the Nexus series of phones.
