What? I never heard about wokeness from them
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

You serious? They have weekly competitions in drawing Orc futa (trannies) with big dicks on their Discord. Final judge is Ted Peterson who loves talking about dicks, balls, boobs and his line of designer T-shirts. 0 exaggeration

Talented people should be paid. People who have a good sense of their own self-worth will demand to be paid.
Money don't grow on trees. That said if it were a serious effort they could have gotten a small team together and then share profits equally when the thing releases.
Volunteers? The fuck is this? Communism? Absolutely worst way to go about it

"no way, top 100 wishlists for a game where the only footage is walking through a forest in 20 FPS?"

I wouldn't put too much thought into wishlist numbers, a lot of people just use it as a way to keep track of games they are interested in, not necessarily games people are planning to buy.

What? I never heard about wokeness from them.

According to that Indigo blogpost they pushed Douglas Goodall out of the company for being a Republican.

Behind you.
Open communists, furry moderators, witch feminists, trannies gallore, redditors everywhere, zoomer my first RPG was Skyrim, Ted Peterson with his adopted black son who he dresses as mage and flails himself every day for giving Redguards lesser intelligence stat in Elder Scrolls... Nothing of that is exaggeration. Their official Discord tells everything about them
This is kind of like saying Discord is like Discord.

It's common knowledge that every good videogame has been created by accident rather than intent, including Daggerfall, and that many classic game dev heroes are actually talentless weirdos.

The thing is I'm still optimsitic about this because the pressure cooker environment of Discord drama, massively disparate creative visions, a fixation on penises, and autistic lack of focus is exactly the kind of climate that can inadvertently transmute shit (ie the entire team's current ideas) into gold. In the 90s, developers with crap ideas often ended up creating masterpieces due to tech and budget limitations forcing them to reduce and rework their terrible "vision" into something actually viable and enjoyable. In the modern era those barriers are far less, but I feel like having such a complete clusterfuck of a team that the project simply can't take flight until it's refined down into something good could be the present-day equivalent.

"Support the project and gain Early Access to The Wayward Realms 2025"
If they're promoting early access starting next year, I'm expecting a hell of a lot more than what they've shown so far.

Youtuber guy legged it when he saw what a bunch of aimless has-beens the TES devs had become when push came to shove. Ted Peterson is busy gooning to orc futa in the official discord server and the Hindapoo finance guy blew scamming Paradox, a company that was tricked by Obsidian into funding Pillars with the Tyranny budget and paid for the Bloodlines 2 debacle, because he claimed it was going to compete with Starfield and Cyberpunk 2077 and even Paradox knew how ridiculous that was. The team has been working on this project since 2019 with nothing to show for it.

The conditions have never been more perfect for delivering another RPG masterpiece.

I doubt the game will be good if it comes out at all. I see the most likely scenario being a successful kickstarter followed by huge promises and an eventual release of a very substandard game. The same starstruck You Tubers shilling the game now will make several videos about this disaster with absolutely no self awareness. And the occasional person will cope and seethe about how the game has been "fixed" a year after release when it's still the same shit game.

It's been 10 years since the first round of Ultimate RPG Kickstarter projects and a new generation of young nerds are longing for their chance to contribute their financial support to a dream "pie in the sky" labor of love.

Encourage them! Celebrate their exuberant irresponsible spending.

We'll have our popcorn ready.

Our goal is to raise $500,000 to fund one year of development on an Early Access build that will feature preliminary versions of key systems. It is our aim to then take that Early Access build to publishers to seek out further funding and continue development on the rest of the game.

We want to encourage those who want to see this kind of game made, but can't pledge high amounts, to support us at the lowest tiers: Benefactor & Wanderer. These tiers are arguably the most important, as a high number of backers will be instrumental in proving something that we have been saying for years – that players still crave this kind of game.

By supporting us at the Adventurer Tier, supporters will get the Early Access build as soon as it is ready. This will include a prologue chapter set on the starting island of Eyjar, which is approximately 140 square kilometers in size.

To fill that massive space, we will build the Early Access version to include a wide variety of content. We plan to offer Humans and Orks as playable races at the start, with several cosmetic and armor choices for each. Additionally, there will be several factions to join with interconnected struggles to resolve, as well as a multitude of enemies to battle, each with their own unique attack styles, resistances, and weaknesses. Exploration will not be imited to the landmass itself. There will be ships and sailing available to players who wish to take their adventures into the surrounding waters of Eyjar. Last, but certainly not least, there will be vast quantities of lore to dive into and learn about Eyjar – and the world beyond

$500,000 Goal

  • Large, dynamic world, 140 square kilometers in size, larger than most modern game worlds.
  • Meaningful character generation and advancement systems, with dozens of skills, attributes, and perks, allowing players to create characters limited only by their creativity.
  • Human and Ork playable races, each with their own race-based bonuses.
  • Magic system, including the ability to craft your own spells.
  • 5 major factions for players to join, whose storylines are influenced based on the player’s actions and World Events: The Bowman Bastards, The Baron’s Men, The Port Authority, Nadeau's Financial Acquisitions, The Knights Errant.
  • One major World Event.
  • Dozens of enemy types, from humanoids, to undead, to legendary monsters – all supported by advanced enemy AI for exciting, dynamic combat.
  • 30 in-game lorebooks, allowing the player to explore the rich lore of the world.
  • 2 breeds of Horses for players to ride, Rouncies and Palfries, in a number of different coat colors and patterns.
  • 2 types of ships to purchase and sail around Eyjar.

$800,000 Goal

  • Craft more spells.
  • Coursers (war horses) added as rideable mounts, in a number of different coat colors and patterns.
  • Additional variety for customizing player’s appearance.
  • 2 additional factions to join: The Baron’s Army & Godsend’s Army.

$1,000,000 Goal

  • A new playable race, Dwarfs, who have their own race-based bonuses and are known for their excellent craftsmanship.
  • Dwarfin architecture present in the town of Hermanstadt.
  • 20 additional lorebooks for players to discover.
  • Ponies added as a rideable mount, in a number of different coat colors and patterns.
  • Learn to enchant weapons and armor.
  • 2 additional factions to join: The Red Countess’ Pirates & The Corvus Monastery.
  • 6 digital “Pin-up” posters of the goddesses.

$1,500,000 Goal

  • A new playable race, Goblins, who have their own racial bonuses and are known for their thievery.
  • A second major World Event.
  • Destriers added as a rideable mount, in a number of different coat colors and patterns.
  • 3 additional factions to join: The Ipso, The Inquisition & The Order of St Latra.
  • 2 more ship types to purchase and sail around Eyjar.

$2,000,000 Goal

  • Multiplayer support allowing friends to join the player in a drop-in/drop-out co-op fashion.
  • Brew your own unique potions with the addition of the Alchemy system.
  • 5 new temple & cult factions to join: The Temple of Daelle, The Temple of Ondreka, The Temple of Umbria, The Eyes of the Raven & a mysterious Malora Cult.

$2,000,000 True Goal?

Half a million dollars to reach the goal and keep the money.

I wonder how much they have to make in the first 5 days to make that base goal reasonably possible, 390K? They've already hooked a number of whales.

Half a million goal.

No demo.

Ugly, laggy screencapture.

History of development drama.

-sighs deeply-

At some point I'm just going to assume people are not pattern-recognizing creatures.

This will make Underworld Ascendant look like a polished masterpiece in comparison.

Do you think it was Kirkbride that got him into futa or the other way around?
