If it came with a free blowjob from Yennifer, Codexers would still complain.
I will complain about the lack of software RT for older cards. This is one of the few games where enabling software raytracing on a 1080ti would have made sense, because the game is old enough and the card strong enough to still give good framerate.
I doubt it. Ray tracing in a game like TW3 would bring any 10xx series card to its knees.
I'd like to try it out. In raster performance the 1080ti is equivalent to 2070 Super and 3060, even has a marginal lead.
From what I've seen in their video, GI ends up giving a bit of a desaturated image and with too bright whites. To me it looks worse than non-GI honestly, like someone's edgy reshade config - "I'm gonna make it better with colder colors". So I'm curious to see it with my own eyes on my own display, even if it's not practical to play with it. Maybe just the scenes they used in the video were more unfortunate, though I doubt it.
I watched a Digital Foundry video recently where they were trying to run various recent games on 1080ti with software raytracing. The conclusion is that they can run ok, until you get into a scene with lots of raytraced effects, resulting in uneven fps throughout your playing time.
