Thanks for rephrasing what I just said.

I'd still like to mess with it, and Witcher 3 would be a good game to mess with it.

Speaks volumes when the studio decided to again work on 7+ year game instead of fixing their latest flop.

(I know it can't be fixed but at least they could admit it and move on)

CDPR cares about the customer, god I love CDPR so much it's insane, I'll buy The Witcher 3 on my Xbox and Nintendo switch because they deserve my money.

That's what I meant. The road and the second house from the right actually look shiny. I wouldn't play in this mode even if I had an RT card.

Really? Because it seems like you said you think it'll work on that card. Good luck with that.
If it came off like that, what I meant was that I'm curious to see how intensive the RT will be in this game, and how often the 1080ti will drop to something like 10-20 fps. From what I saw of DF's benchmarks, software RT gives a very uneven framerate. However, all the games they were testing were concieved as RT games, whereas for Witcher 3 that's not the case of course.

Am I the only one that expected a complete overhaul /rework of the gameplay instead of raytracing or anything else?

Well, even without RT, TW3 on max settings makes a 1080 Ti work pretty hard, and that's the old version. With the addition of the higher resolution textures in the upgrade, I imagine we'll need at least a RTX 2080 or higher to run it with RT and have any sort of playable framerate.

How is steam version for modding?

Or is it better to get this off GoG?
The same. The Steam version also has no DRM.
But don't expect much modding after the "upgrade". All mods will most likely break and just a few will be updated to work again.

I have stable 60fps in white orchard on max settings and 4K.
With HairWorks on everything? What CPU do you have?
4790k
I have the exact same cpu. I bet you get a pretty significant drop once you get to Novigrad.

It's been awhile since I played TW3, but I seem to remember getting around 40fps on max settings with my OC 1080. That's with full HairWorks and vsync enabled though.

Did they really had some blue hair creature promoting this next gen hoax?

Nuff said

I wish some studio actually does nothing in these kind of low effort bs pr stunts. Like give me exact same graphics in fake "comparison" videos and you will see again a bunch of idiots saying things like "OMG thank you CD Project Red!, People saying it's the same have no fucking clue! You are so ungrateful it's for free!" lel
