No its some new game launcher for witcher. It looks very similar to GOG when it comes to font and how page of game is structured.

You just can't have a simple launcher anymore, it has to be a shitty marketing tool.

2K did the same thing with the XCOM 2 Launcher and fucked over mods as a result.

Cheers Perkel that's much more useful. Makes colours 'pop' a bit more in some areas which is welcome e.g. the town houses from BaW (4:40). Shadow quality is indeed better but you can tell some of the areas weren't designed with the effect in mind like the blacksmith workshop (5:00). It'll be interesting to see ray tracing in a game made for it.

The drowners at 1:08 do look a bit uncanny valley over-sharpened. Compare them to the fisherman at 1:13 who looks like he belongs in the scene.


The lighting doesn't match the sky in the slightest.

Seems very random whether RT makes scenes more or less realistic. The shot of the indoor area was an improvement, the vanilla version was too bright with only two light sources seen, the open window and the fireplace.

It's like playing with an Instagram filter on top.


It's so boring to be right in advance:
If you ignore the slurping and smacking sounds coming from the Digital Foundry reviewer, and concentrate on the actual picture, this RT update is... nothing to write home about. The differences are stylistical rather than qualitative in the best of cases, and I'm willing to bet that in many scenes, if not in the majority of scenes, the non-RT game will look better.

The only features to be excited about in this update are clearly the increased LOD and drawing distance, and the improved clouds.

Digital Foundry have long since turned into the lowest tier shills for Nvidia's raytracing, but going so far as to shill a free update for the sake of some more sales of a 7-8 year old game exceeds even my expectations.

It explains huge CPU increase as DX12 should reduce not increase cpu bottleneck. Probably most of the problems are also caused byt this api fuckery.

Yea, I was looking into that. That library was the cause people were unable to hook performance monitoring tools to the game, hence why it was found out.

First you get a bunch of mods and slap them onto your game. Then you grab some DLL off Microsoft github and call it updated rendering.

At least Bethesda actually ported Skyrim LE to a new engine with Skyrim SE. Imagine CDPRekt having to actually put some effort on their games.

I've only watched a handful of things from digital foundry and they are absolute retard shills for Nvidia and literally anything that makes flashy lights. Meanwhile they can't come up with enough excuses for DLSS2 and 3's lowered image quality. You'd think if you were going to make a brand around going for autistic image quality at the expense of every FPS possible you could be consistent about it, but nope.

The best part ? Can't test it now but someone said that you can just remove it and game will run in proper dx12 mode. Apparently this is just some refuse from developement.

Some other people are saying that old settings.ini are fucking up stuff like DLSS and causing problems.

Just "played" it for 15 minutes. Loadings are 3 times longer and game is unplayable due to stuttering. RT looks like shit. They added data mining to be truly next gen

I tested my 3080 back in 1.32 and i had 500fps with 720p and lowest settings (gpu was at 100%). Same place now with lowest setting gives 200fps and gpu is at 50%. So not only gpu utilization went out of window but even if gpu was at 100% it would only give 400fps instead of 500fps.

Deleted whole Dx11toDX12.dll and like people said game still work in Dx12 and now afterburner works as well, don't have any issues now with crashing. Fucking amateurs. Didn't improve FPS and other stuff like stutter and weird popin.
