i made the terrible mistake of installing this update on my fx-6300 with 2 gig nvidia 660. It was a total fucking disaster. then I exited the game, but I could still hear the music and my computer was having a nervous breakdown. needless to say I uninstalled the game. its probably still running in task manager, I bet

Well, at least they kept the original install files as "extras" on GoG. Still better to make a backup though.
Except none of the download links for the GOTY Classic files work. All of them throw error 404 and GOG is yet to even acknowledge the issue, despite complaints since yesterday.
You are right. Didn't actually click on it. Lol, what a dick move. Glad I backed it up 2 days ago.

If anyone wants to make a backup, you have to replace a typo in the installer links for the old version, then they work (I tested it on one of them):

https://af.gog.com/forum/the_witche..._the_132_links_are_broken/page1?as=1649904300

Hi, I just found the fix and It's super simple actually.

The problem is a typo in the link. All you have to do is remove "_(g)"

In short, change this:

../goty/classic/setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_goty_1.31_(a)_(9709)_(g)-1.bin

To this:

../goty/classic/setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_goty_1.31_(a)_(9709)-1.bin

This works too:
Just click into the link and when you get to the error 404, check the address bar, in my case it ended in:

setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_goty_1.31_%28a%29_%289709%29_%28g%29.exe

and I just had to remove the "_%28g%29" part, ending with something like this:

setup_the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_goty_1.31_%28a%29_%289709%29.exe

...and the download started ^^.

The links have been fixed on GOG.

It's been a while since I last played it. The mods and improved LOD really did wonders for it:

At least Bethesda actually ported Skyrim LE to a new engine with Skyrim SE. Imagine CDPRekt having to actually put some effort on their games.

A new low has been reached when even Bethesda puts more effort in their products.

They made the nekkers white. Hmm...
Screenshot-23.png

Technically, they are mostly subterranean. Mostly.

So basically a so called AAA company used modders to remaster their product and now its fucked? The original witcher 3 staff was worked to death and all quit. Now they cheap out and use modders and release a trash product. On other forums I see tons of complaints about crashing stuttering etc. What a mess.

It looks as if they were in a hurry to release this remaster before Christmas, without the necessary testing. Say, what about those pre-rendered cutscenes without animation data - are they still missing?

The music always plays for a second after the game has exited to desktop. The game executable probably minimizes to desktop before it self-terminates.

this time it was different. it was like I unleashed a demon from the ancient world when I tried to close the game. like the whole PC was being choked and wouldn't respond to anything for like thirty seconds or so. I nearly died

Serves you right for having this game on your PC 7 YEARS after it came out.

You do realize for that time spent if you pumped up some woman when TW3 came out, a child would now start going to school?

It's really nothing special, there is 1 new side quest for Netflix armor and that's it. 99% it looks fucking the same (RTX in general is useless gimmick you have to look for to notice)

And 5 more trees up there in the distance on average...yay.

Gods of gaming are punishing you for being graphic whores.

The mod that does most stuff, and rebalances the game is actually the work of a CDPR dev. I didn't know about it until it was mentioned as one of the mods being integrated into the next gen version, then I gave it a look and it's actually a very good and unintrusive bugix&rebalance mod. I'm playing the non-next gen version with it, after I gave up on trying to learn Enhanced Edition's combat (for the third time).

I've combined it with Scabbards, Friendly HUD, Preparations and Enhanced Alchemy. A nice setup for a casual, non-tryhard play.

Another day, another spit on the face of customers by CDPR/GOG:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition’s in-game rewards!

cZJcUEf.jpg

As you most probably know, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Next-Gen Update has arrived on GOG and is available for free for every owner of the game!

But besides all the amazing improvements that this update has brought to CDPR’s masterpiece (full list of changes HERE), there are also awesome in-game rewards waiting for you to redeem, like brand new gear for Geralt, which you can put to use on your monster-slaying adventures throughout the Continent!

qYLIx3n.jpg

These rewards serve as a thank you for buying or upgrading to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition and supporting CD PROJEKT RED.

With any version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in your library, simply follow these steps to claim the related rewards:

Rewards for owning The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Launch The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition via GOG GALAXY 2.0 and start playing. Your rewards will be waiting for you in the Royal Palace in Vizima. Check the letter from Yennefer in your inventory for help locating them!

Rewards for playing GWENT: The Witcher Card Game

By playing GWENT, on whatever platform, using the same account where you own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition, you’ll get instant access to these rewards!

GWENT in-game rewards

Start GWENT on your platform of choice, then log in using the same account where you own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition and start playing. Your reward(s) will be waiting for you in your collection.

LbLQzMz.png

And that’s it! Now go claim the rewards and slay some monsters with it! And if you don’t own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition yet, it is now on a -80% Winter Sale discount, available until January 2nd, 11 PM UTC!

And it's bound to your save file, so you have to launch the game through GOG if you start a new game to claim the rewards, again:

https://www.thewitcher.com/en/my-rewards

"Do I have to be connected to the internet in order to participate in MY REWARDS?"

An internet connection is required to register with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt MY REWARDS. Once claimed, rewards will be yours to keep regardless of whether you’re playing online or offline. Please note that if you begin a new game, you will need to log in again to obtain the rewards in that save file.'

Drama rightfully ensuing now on the GOG forums: https://af.gog.com/forum/general/th...e_editions_ingame_rewards_6a0b8?as=1649904300

I liked a suggestion from one of the forum posters: everyone should open a ticket to GOG since the game is not DRM-free, thus violating the advertisement on the GOG page itself for TW3.

The writing was on the wall years ago, becoming a Steam clone is the only way to make a quick profit before the collapse - because they're not Steam and never will be. It seems there are no legal ways to effectively combat DRM. All attempts are economically unviable because the dorito munching masses simply don't care.

Did they fix the Steam overlay yet? I'd like to see what kind of frame rate I'm getting, but Steam's FPS counter won't show and neither will FRAPS.

First, try setting the game to fullscreen exclusive and see if it works. For me, it works with DX11, but not with DX12. There's still no hotfix. If you don't have an RT card, just play with DX11, it looks better anyway.

If you have an AMD card, just press Ctrl+Shift+O in game, you get this cool overlay with all kinds of information:

Got two questions for you:

Why are you people still playing this action-adventure in 2022?

Is Triss black now?
