And the statement about aiming for "People Who Do Not Play Our Games" basically ensures it will be a failure, because alienating your fanbase is the best way to do that.
I would not read too much from that quote.

Each Witcher game aimed at 'people who did not play CDPR games'. That's why Witcher 1 sold about 2 million copies (before Witcher 3 release), Witcher 2 about 8 million copies and then Witcher 3 became a global hit 2nd only to the likes of GTA 5 with 50 million copies sold worldwide.

I'm sure they're hopimg to bring even more players now, since the hobby grew since 2015.

Of course it also means they have to write each game in a way it would be accessible to first time players, not knowing the previous games. Given the success of Witcher 3 which for majority of fans was their first Witcher game, so far they succeeded in this effort.

Please, all of you: take a pledge right now to not buy this game.

You people keep buying these games and they keep making them.

I saw someone on the internet who bought Ubisoft’s “Skull and Bones.”

The only way to prevent these games is to refuse to buy them.

There are so, so many indie games now that do not do this shit.

Buy Chinese games. They’re better and not gay or vaginalized.

Don’t buy from CD Projekt, which is a vaginal company.

This team is ridiculous.

Cyberpunk 2077 was bad enough, but they want to push it even further into the abyss.

People should have known never to trust Polish gamers when Shroud cheated constantly and didn’t even care when he was caught.
That team is so fucked. And not even because they look degenerate but cause just by the hair colors you can tell you no one in that picture even believes the shit they spew. Compare and contrast with Larian, whose team is truly actually filled with degenerates you could find at some LARP event looking like the full rainbow. Not even the chance of mocapped bear porn with this bunch of performative redditors looking idiots.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
The game would be named something like Elder Blood, and the suits would be worried about mushy brain gamers not knowing that this is a game set in the world of Witcher or worse thinking that it belongs to another franchise.
How do we make a game that's not about a witcher but still call it "Witcher"?

Wait for the release date and dump your CDPR stock.

The problem will correct itself given enough time, at any rate. Progressives always push too hard and too far to the point where those who barely tolerate their nonsense in the first place inevitably step up and push society to pivot in the opposite direction again. We're arguably seeing that happen to an extent already. A lot of the pure slop is being outright rejected and if and when progressives start actively acting on their threats it may very well spook the smarter executives into stepping away from pandering to them.
During fall of Roman empire, people who pushed for children of immigrants to rule Roman empire were still sufficiently important, and Roman empire self destructed.
I doubt children who grew up under teachers who were trying to teach them that ... ... is the new normal would be willing to abolish self-destructing ideas of current society.

There is absurd stuff happening in last 20 years with US movies and TV series, and dumb game developers who are not understanding that PC games when made as an high art, is different than movies that were made as high art. These dumb developers are trying to copy what they see in movies. If current movies are "black actor needed job" "yellow actor needed job" "hispanic were part (actually they were quite important for westerns)", then game developers are seeing movies where movies are not even trying. Its about new jobs. And that black girl wanted to play Ariel.

In movies people are observing possibly meh main character for 105 minutes, in games they are playing as possibly meh character for 30-150 hours. (Well they didn't need to have Vaan and Pemelo in the party thus they had choice after first few hours. But a lot of modern games don't give them even that choice, because voice acting is expensive, and they paid for these voice lines.)

Ciri can be a good twitcher main character if done right.

But she won't.
Its impossible to make a good character out of Ciri. She is too much of a mary sue, if you are gonna nerf her into the ground and make her Geralt with tits might as well make a new and more interesting character.

Obviously ciri is a Witcher as evidenced by consuming poison potions and dual swords. Or did you not even look at the trailer?

Ciri will be:

- Gay
- Bi
- Hetero

Taking bets now
From what I have been told she is attracted to men in the books but at various points basically has a woman force herself upon her. I doubt that will be addressed or acknowledged so the development team will likely take the lazy route and make her bisexual.

In turn that leads to the romance options. I doubt any will be conventionally attractive. I expect a lot of the usual interracial hookups (which is funny, since bisexuals and homosexuals are notorious for overwhelmingly avoiding dating outside of their race much like heterosexuals - but the media never makes that apparent and pretends that the opposite scenario is true.

Modern female protagonists are very much made with autogynephiles in mind, though. So I do not doubt that we'll see that play into things. At least one of the potential options will be some Karlach tier abomination with the personality, mannerisms and physique of a cocky guy.

The men on offer will no doubt be effete and meek. Maybe they'll even do what Baldur's Gate 3 did and alter their physiques to be slimmer post launch like they did with Gale and Astarion.

I am going from memory but a dying guy asks to have sex with her, she agrees but he dies just as he is going to enter her. Pretty wtf moment to be honest.

There is a kid in the temple who falls in love with her and they kiss but she wasnt in love with him. They both part ways soon after (the kid goes to war) and he latter marries someone else and has a granddaughter named Ciri.

Cahir is in love with her but I can remember if she ever reciprocates in any way (he also dies during her rescue).

The elf king tries to have sex with her and while she mostly agrees to do it she isnt attracted to him (and he dies from an OD before consummating).

In the last book she jumps to our world during King Arthur's time and meets Galahad, they both have a small adventure together, he pledges himself to her and when they are talking latter its implied she starts getting a crush on him.

As for woman when she first joins the rats one of the dudes tries to rape her, before he can do it a chick interrupts and 'saves' her just to rape her in turn. They both start a consensual relationship after this (another wtf moment), they get matching tattoos and etc. Not sure what sapkowski intended but to me it sounded like a toxic relationship were both were abusing each other (Mistle for sex and Ciri for comfort, since she had just lost everything she had), perhaps Ciri even used the chick as a shield to not be raped by the others, who knows. The chick dies and Ciri gets sad but never thinks badly of her IIRC, despite the fact she was basically raped.

Those are the ones I remember.

Her being bi would make the most sense, despite CDPR giving players an option to make her a full lesbo in 3. There is also the fact I read the books in English (a few were even fan translations the first time I read them) so there could be mistranslations.

It sounds as awkward to read as some of the stuff George R.R Martin and Stephen King put out there. Kind of sad, really - I used to be an avid reader but even as a kid a lot of stuff in fantasy novels made me raise an eyebrow and I turned to video games instead. Now they're also being less than subtle in regards to the weird kinks of the writers. :|
