Is this where we realize that novelists don't really hide their kinks?
Thats nothing compared to reading Geralt moping about while Yennefer cucks him. She brings him to a city just to get there and start fucking another dude lmao   They almost kill each other in a duel but they decide to stop when they realize she cucked both and already left the city. Also when he first met her she was having sex with another man. The dude had just left the room.

Frankly the only good choice is Shani. Triss is semi acceptable too, I guess.

Protecting endangered species is woke now?

Adolf Hitler, who introduced the first environmental protection laws would be very dissapointed by people confusing his work with those of queer dangerhairs.
Uncle Adi was a vegetarian, didn't smoke, avoided alcohol, approved tons of health regulations based on scientific research. 'Lebensborn' does not exactly fit the 'traditional family model'. He was definitely progressive.

It sounds as awkward to read as some of the stuff George R.R Martin and Stephen King put out there. Kind of sad, really - I used to be an avid reader but even as a kid a lot of stuff in fantasy novels made me raise an eyebrow and I turned to video games instead. Now they're also being less than subtle in regards to the weird kinks of the writers. :|

As discussed in various other threads, I think there's a very arguable theory that nerds in general stopped reading as they age, because the publishing houses and various apparatuses of adult lit have been throughly colonized by shit, like all media.

When you look at older stuff, there's so much quality available. Then you look at new fantasy/sci-fi and it's all reminiscent of modern Hugo Award winners.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Libraries and bookstores alike have a very clinical, almost oppressive atmosphere these days. I went into one recently for the first time for years since I was waiting to meet a friend and had some time to spare. I immediately regretted it. A lot of focus on 'STORIES FROM WOMEN OF COLOUR' and 'LGBT+'.

Of course, the classic stories and those written by men were deliberately harder to find which was rather depressing.

I imagine it's much harder now to get published as a male author, too, especially with the industry pressure to force any given story to be 'more diverse'.

Modern fantasy literature has zero to offer to you if you are a straight male. Literature in general too.

Much better to stick to the classics and dont give your money to publishing companies.

Codex 2012 Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Dead State Project: Eternity Codex USB, 2014 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
Ciri will be:

- Gay
- Bi
- Hetero

Taking bets now
Better question is what kind of person would want to romance her. She looks like 40 years old trans woman covered with scars. Men and women have different standards for attractiveness, women would find older Geralt attractive while I cant imagine any man feeling the same for Ciri.

As an aside, I can't help but notice that her head in the cinematic looks far too large in general. Veilguard had the same problem with its characters.

Yeah. I've a large backlog for books and games at least and there's still the rare gem to be found here and there. If the situation improves in the coming years, great. If not, I'll make do.

Way worse. Books literally open on a literal kid getting groped and Geralt going sucks to be you, but probably because he himself goes on to duck Shani when she's like sixteen. And then obviously his brightest moment later on, when he decides Yennefer has betrayed him and Ciri (she's actually getting her fingers broken right then) so he takes a break from trying to find Ciri and starts living his best life with some other sorceress, then finds out that Yennefer is actually getting tortured so he ducks one more time goodbye the sorceress and then finally gets out of his hiatus.

It's bizarre. At least Martin is only obsessed with food, that fat fuck at the Wall, and that one woman's nipples.

Last thing I've heard about him is that he thought that the Netflix series was great.
Yeah, I'm not surprised.

It seems many creatives are either easily compromised/bribed or only managed to accidentally create something with nuance that never extends into the real world.

George R.R Martin, for example, is capable of writing characters that are morally grey and acknowledge that war and politics is messy, complex and not often as simple as 'good guys versus bad guys'.

As soon as the topic comes to the real world, however, he and his ilk whine endlessly about anyone who dares to think differently to him.

The way Henry Cavill was treated by Netflix should have been more than enough to make the book's author do a double take but...
At least GRRM whined about HotD show not including crucial characters(males mostly) and making it all about cool girlbosses; and in general complained about showrunners making the adaptions (((their))) material instead of following the source.
Was supposed to even start a crusade in his blogpost but it was stopped by HBO intervention.

The only modern fantasy novels I've read are from Andrzej Sapkowski, Witold Jabłoński, George R. R. Martin and Scott R. R. Bakker (why do so many authors steal Tolkien's R. R.?) and while none of them conceals his fetishes, they still deliver better writing that 90% of the fantasy writers of old, save for Tolkien, Zelazny, Howard and several others. I think I can live with a few kinks if it gets me good reading.

Just got curious about reading the books. Need some trash to pass time this ought to be as good as any.

Just found the complete Witcher on some inventory. Good enough?

What failure? She killed the monster
But let the girl die, and is implied by the own trailer the reason she was paid to kill the monster was to avoid the girl getting killed.
You're trying too hard to blame Ciri, she sends the girl back to the village because there's a huge monster close by and the peasants decide that the witcher will lose the fight and sacrifice her anyway.

They fucked up Cyberpunk 2077 on release but made it "good" later on. It's another generic rpg game in the end.
Witcher 3 made the expectations for the 4th skyrocket, they're gonna fuck up in both categories.
There's no way in hell they're making a success out of this shite.

One factor that made witcher enjoyable was Geralt being a interesting character. Ciri is boring as fuck. I felt like A ciri led game could've been a good spin-off game, but that wouldn't sell well would it?
