I suspect its nearly impossible to get any sort of funding these days in a developed country without showing the government and whoever else is doing the rubber stamping that you have at least a token effort towards diverrrrrsity on your project. I also suspect that a lot of people would find the lure of free money too much, particularly when you're trying to get a foothold in the business. So you "pretend" you're into DEI and globohomo, you put at least one favorable depiction of a homosexual and a groid in your project outline, and you hire a couple of wamen and a tranny for good measure but before you know it the entire culture of your outfit is changing, because these types have a tendency to browbeat polite people into submission, and game dev nerds have a tendency towards being spineless.

Maybe Malians considered stone overkill, especially if there was no threat of siege machines from hostile armies. But it's still odd that they didn't want to imitate Egyptian architecture out of vanity, clearly they could have afforded skilled Egyptian workers if needed. Perhaps Malians were simply not that interested in stone architecture, just like the Vikings.

I've seen quite a few people on here and twitter annoyed about Henry's retroactive bisexuality, and I think the best way to keep everyone happy is to patch some gay sex scenes for him into KCD1 prior to the release of the sequel to ensure that his characterization is consistent. Hopefully Warhorse are on top of this and have it ready to roll out so as not to disappoint long time fans.

I don't mean the sexual stuff specifically, Henry as a protag is incredibly guided. That is one of my pet-peeves with the first game. Doing any kind of crime, for example, felt like a major disconnect from the narrative. The game has sandbox elements, but the character was not written for it, at all.
