The game is going to be last in series and they'll clearly want to add DLCs. What are they going to do, just add 3 new factions and stop? Especially when they are cooperating with Games Workshop? Chaos Dwarves and Dogs of War are guaranteed, they'll most likely do Border Princes and maybe Southern Realms since that area is uncharacteristically all Empire as it is now. Really anything goes after that point.

Lord packs? Even without the Tomb Kings and Vamp Coast LLs, they added dozens of new LLs to Mortal Empires via DLC/FLC.
And the return of mini-campaigns offers new opportunities to sell self-contained Campaign packs.

They said back in WH1 that they would stop doing campaign packs. Not that I would mind if they added narrativized mini-campaigns, I would actually love if they add small campaigns with small armies with limits on tech & recruitment with zoomed-in maps and they may eventually. Still this is clearly going to be a milked flagship for CA for years to come, I expect continued development like Paradox games for at least 5 years.

With the last DLC they even started to add a new lord to a older DLC pack. DLC for DLC.
So the possibilities for new DLC are limitless.

The Great Book of Grudges was recently talking about an interview in some European games magazine (I forget) where CA basically said:

- They're creating race packs specifically for the Mortal/Immortal Empires map (this is huge, because the limitation in TWW2 was that only races that fit the Vortex map would be brought in)
- They're creating race packs established in the lore but not necessarily fielding an army on tabletop (huge, because now we're talking Ind/Kush/Nippon/Albion etc)
- Chaos Dwarves are definitely first in (I believe the quote was 'Well, there's a lot of empty land in that part of the map...')
- They're going to milk the motherfuck out of TWW3 with respect to DLC

Fuck, they're gonna add sigmarines at some point, aren't they?

I hope they won't everything in AOS looks good except sigmarines they are the only reason I didn't invest my time in anything aos related :prosper:

AoS has some good ideas but it smells like a ploy from GW to make their IP more defensible.

Also, it's kind of lame.

Good. So far all the dlc have come with lots of nice fixes and improvements for everyone (not to mention all the FLC).

It does suck a bit that wh3 vanilla doesn't have more reworks though. The siege/settlement stuff is maybe good, but it's probably not enough, and the game could really have used a bigger rework of diplomacy, ai, difficulty levels and population mechanics. I doubt they'll make any big reworks to that as dlc content.

From streams at least some of the siege maps are just amazing; a good blend of 3K and Troy. Not sure what you mean about diplomacy. That's also been totally reworked. Difficulty is also a little different with a big nerf to supply lines and the melee difficulty impact. Melee are also practically a little better just because of the emphasis on point capture and more spread out conflicts. It makes it so concentration of ranged firepower isn't as OP. The AI is different, so it's fixed in some ways and broken in new ways.

Population mechanics are not in, which is sad.

QoL improvements are huge and trading settlements has been in practically every other Total War game in existence.

It's definitely in Rome 1. It's also in Troy. I think Shogun 2 was infamous for removing it and everyone complaining. Rome 2 is bad, so who cares.

Medieval 2 was the last time I actually really enjoyed the campaign. Now I just like smashing armies together.

Unfortunately, as shown by streamers, Warhammer 3 has 2 massive old BUGS that were in Warhammer 2, Three Kingdoms and even Rome 2, and they were never fixed.

-BUG 1\battle: When you are attacking the gate, the AI can accidentally open it and you get trapped inside, unable to attack the gate anymore

BUG 2\campaign: when your unit is sieging a gate (example Empire Forts or Cathay Bastion) you can pass through it with another army,

Those 2 bugs were never fixed in Warhammer 2, Rome 2 and Three Kingdoms and now they are still there in Warhammer 3.

Why is it so fucking hard to fix the goddamn gate bug. Make the gate status toggleable for fuck's sake instead of relying on proximity.

Campaign bug is because gates are simply just settlements like any other, so its zone of control gets disabled when it is under siege like all others. They would probably need to make an individual exception to every gate so its zone of control never gets disabled but if they already haven't done that it is possible that also fucks stuff up. They should have made gates different than settlements in the first place but probably not going to happen now if they haven't done it for 4 games by now.

What exactly have they reworked diplomacy-wise? I’ve so far seen only QoL improvements. And I predict trade settlement to be the cheesiest of mechanics.

If you played 3K or Troy, it now has the points based system to help you to make more complex deals, plus the quick deal system for various treaty types. It's very similar to how Troy's works.

RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
can you still spam 20 dragons in wh3?

I don't think any of the new factions have access to dragons as regular units (only the 2 LL of Cathay can transform into dragons), so you can't do it. But I haven't seen any restriction on army composition so far, so you should still be able to spam 19 identical units

Seems pretty close to the indented use case, dunking on weak all-melee armies.
