I liked this game a lot and I am sad that there's never gonna be a sequel to it.

I would've preferred Tyranny 2 over Pillars Of Eternity 2.
I guess Fallout: New Vegas is more likely because people have been more vocal about it.
There's one thing wrong about that statement my darling.

Mandalore’s review is pretty spot on; great magic system, interesting setting and characters but samey combat encounters, clearly unfinished and no conclusive ending to the story
Such a shame, I enjoyed it much more than Pillars of Eternity
There's no conclusive end since it was only the first part of a larger story. Once again, people - they're not even pretending they're not ripping off The Black Company series. I can guarantee you that, if there was a next game, once you defeat Kyros it would turn out she was holding back an even greater evil at bay. Probably her fucking husband, just like in the novels.

In the novels, one of the main characters becomes her husband, though that's cutting a VERY long story short.

You're suggesting that games should go back to being completely linear.Am I the only one who wasn't interested in more than a single specific path?
Seems to me that the devs have only achieved a shorter game through the game's branching design while not necessarily increasing its replay value.
On the hardest difficulty it starts off incredibly challenging, requiring a special build or lots of cheesing. By the mid game you are an untouchable god who cannot die. I imagine that on the lower difficulties you just start off invulnerable and become even more godlike.
I didn't even realize the setting was supposed to be in the Bronze Age until I read about it elsewhere. Nothing about it makes sense or aligns well, most of it is left completely unexplored. It's your usual run of the mill globohomo bullshit setting.

Even the aesthetic doesn't fit. It obviously doesn't have to be "real world bronze age culture but with x" but at least take into consideration what a bronze age society was or wasn't capable of. There are statues and buildings and equipment around that simply wouldn't be possible. For example FULL FUCKING PLATE ARMOR.
Dude, there's a guy who can destroy a continent by writing "fuck you" on a piece of paper. Heroes become immortal because people believe they are. I'm sure a couple of aesthetic inconsistencies can be easily forgiven and justified.Even the aesthetic doesn't fit. Nope, I'm suggesting that non-linearity should be modular rather than the sum of several linear paths diverging from a common introductory chapter. Which is not to say that the latter can't work in itself (The Witcher 2's split between Roche's path and Yorveth's being a prime example of it being done successfully), but I don't think that Tyranny managed to pull it off properly. You're suggesting that games should go back to being completely linear.Am I the only one who wasn't interested in more than a single specific path?

Come on, now you're just criticizing the game for the sake of it. You can't really be saying that you have to either (a) perfectly adhere to every single aspect of the time period you chose or (b) not choose any time period at all to inspire your setting. Also, your criticism is valid for every single setting ever created, because picking only certain aspects/characteristics/restrictions of an age is what designers always do. It's not like settings based on Middle Ages include EVERYTHING from that period.Dude, there's a guy who can destroy a continent by writing "fuck you" on a piece of paper. Yes, a fantasy setting with high powered magic can excuse everything but then whats the point of setting the game in ANY specific time period? If you want to make it "XYZ Age" it has to have restrictions.
I can see the resemblance between the lady and her miniions and Kyros and her Archons , but it's quite a stretch to call-it a ripoff . There is no status quo before the campaign, and the tier have no chance to defeat Kyros force from the beginning to the start.
Huh, Tyranny is a blatant Black Company ripoff?Mandalore’s review is pretty spot on; great magic system, interesting setting and characters but samey combat encounters, clearly unfinished and no conclusive ending to the story

The developers quoted the novel series as part of their inspiration. Kyros = The Lady; The Archons = The Ten Who Were Taken, just to name a few direct inspirations. There's no shame in that - the Myth series was also heavily influenced by the first two books in particular.
