Next week, on December 10, Pillars of Eternity: Definite Edition and Tyranny – Gold Edition will be free to download and keep.
You keep them forever. The Epic Store has been doing this shit for a long time. You have missed a lot of free games, boy.Do you get to keep these copies or do they last only the week? I have them on GOG, so it's not like I can't send them to friends or anything, but it's good to know for the future.
I have gotten there nearly all games since it started (perhaps missed one to three games) two years ago. The best games were Total War: Troy and Subnautica (didn't play Hades much, but Operencia ). People will complain with "Tencent spyware", but if one uses the UE 4 there is only the other way of older versions on GitHub. And since Epic cooperates with "Geforce now" and "Gog" it has become quite the valid store. Always around December they have quite the gifts for the players, like in this week PoE and Tranny. So what do you think will be the next weeks Surprise game? You keep them forever. The Epic Store has been doing this shit for a long time. Doesn't the epic store infect your system with their own launcher like Steam? I hate that. You keep them forever. The Epic Store has been doing this shit for a long time. You have missed a lot of free games, boy.
then no free games for you, you big babyDoesn't the epic store infect your system with their own launcher like Steam? I hate that. You keep them forever. The Epic Store has been doing this shit for a long time. You have missed a lot of free games, boy.
They don't give away dumb crap, but legit good games: Subnautica, Super Meat Boy, What Remains of Edith Finch, Thimbleweed Park, Enter the Gungeon, Overcooked, Limbo, Hyper Light Drifter, Celeste, Inside, Abzu, Metro 2033, Minit, The Messenger, Rayman Legends, Into the Breach, Superhot, Ape Out, Faster Than Light, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, The Talos Principle, The Stanley Parable, Civilization 6, and now Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny.Doesn't the epic store infect your system with their own launcher like Steam? Yeah, because Steam is such a high quality platform. I only use Steam because it lets me get games. If the Epic Store gives me those same games for free, it's doing a better job.Lol, Epic has to bribe people to use their shitty Steam ripoff already? I'm not surprised
Steam is tolerated because its just one thing you need to launch and all your games are there. If you need to run 57 programs (anyone that says "apps" should be sodomised with a pineapple) just to play all your games, it defeats the purpose.Yeah, because Steam is such a high quality platform. And nobody disagrees with that. But if I have to choose between a cancer that constantly spams anime dating simulators and a cancer that gives me free good games, well, I don't really like anime to begin with. And it's not like you have to open all your launchers at the same time. When you want to play a game, you click on its icon and the launchers launches with it. And if you care about tour RAM, you can close the launcher as soon as the game starts. Or, as a good future citizen of the People's Republic, you can just buy more RAM to let our beloved overlords spy on us with ease. All these "launcher" things are cancer.
You don't.But if I have to choose
Tyranny has cringe writing, questionable encounter design, poor enemy variety, weird classless system, and starts declining in quality very fast.

Then there's the stuff you might want to try, but you would never actually spend money on: Slime Rancher, The Witness, Transistor, Torchlight, Mutant Year Zero, Fez, SOMA, Jotun, Tooka-Layle, Darksiders 1 and 2, Farming Simulator (?), Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, For the King, Borderlands, Remnant From the Ashes, Hitman 2016.
And then a bunch of AAA shit, if you care about that: For Honor, Alan Wake, all the Batman Arkham games, Assassin's Creed, Watchdogs 1 and 2, Just Cause 4, GTA V.
I mean, fuck.
Exactly. That's why you can buy all your games on Steam and still get "free" shit on another store. You don't.But if I have to choose
I missed Rayman Legends?Rayman Legends
I mean, I can shit on Tyranny all day long for a variety of reasons, but it does have redeeming qualities and at the end of the day it was a great project hampered by what must've been a shoestring budget. All the set-pieces and aspirations are there, it just ends up not being that great.Come on Tyranny isn't that bad. Not as bad as, say, Tides of Numenera. It's got a unique setting and the magic system has some redeeming qualities.
Setting the bar as low as Tides of Numenera is simply unfair. That game is the turd that just keeps on turding.
