Hey, I was wondering. Is it possible to find the spy in the expedition camp without pickpocketing him?

The more I play the more I feel the itch to go back to the Legacy edition. I start to really hate Innervate mechanic and no real way to expand slots significantly and this idiocy of losing all PSI points both current pool and reserves is just mind bogglingly stupid. Also no way to adjust slots during combat is just.. /facepalm.

It's just so annoying that you can get great quality components for firearms after Depot A but chemical pistols lag behind. I got great collectors from Constantine (140+) but no one is selling me a decent dispenser. Guess i'll have to just do the Research Facility quest.

Didn't know you could find him by pickpocketing him before. How does it work? You check who's on the other side of a certain device you found?

You give the comm device to Marcus and he'll inspect it. They'll find about the plans to kidnap the professor and the pirate ambush fail. Cruzer dies at Arch Island Keep along with other pirates. If you're not a pirate they won't interact with you through the radio but if you pickpocket it then join the pirates, you get some funny interactions using it, like finding out that someone's been messing with his girl.

Speaking of Arch Island Keep, do i get this interaction sleeping there? I really wish to see this. No idea how to trigger it.

I'd imagine that's connected with the nightmares everyone in the Gut are having due to the Sormirbaeren's Psichers.

All nightmares related to Øyensørm psychic fuckery are serpent related, including the player's.

Update on pre-Depot A shields: there are three shields in Protectorate prison. Two are ~170, one is ~330, thus trash, so to speak. Lunatic one south of GMS compound stays as the best choice.
I swear I've found some as random loot. I somehow have two already. I didn't do the Protectorate prison mission and I haven't been to Lunatic camp either. I'm on dominating difficulty.

How good is Continuum Ripple these days without specialization points? I am doing a TM/TC/PK cave wizard and pondering if it would be helpful against crit immune hordes like bladelings.

I wouldnt run versatility and expose weakness. Versatility brings... well... versatility of dmg type output. Why poke single enemy in a foot and wait 4 turns cd to dispose rest while you can just switch to gun/ammo dealing dmg of type that enemy is not resistant to?.

Sure you can though and Ill never stand in a way of good larp.

It's one way to use silenced SMGs without going into heavy perk investment. You can make multiple stealth takedowns without exposing your character to any real danger. There's a lot more to be said about Versatility Dex builds, but ultimately it's about preference. You don't like them, you don't play them. If, however, your objective shifts to fewer and fewer deaths per run over time, well, then you have to consider your options a bit more carefully.

It's pretty good.

Never understood that "no death" fetish. I like to experiment far too much to care much about "no death" playthroughs. Hell something like 60% of my reloads are from fights I would have won anyway but thought I can do better.

Most of my deaths had nothing to do with my build and everything to do with poor play.

i think we are missunderstanding each other.
If you are doing a stealth take down and use expose weakness, why not just continue stabbing? Why switch to silenced gun at all?
If its stealth take down at range, why run expose weakness?

My point was running both feats, not about dex versatile builds. If you look at my previous posts, you will notice that im progressing one on dominating right now.

Speaking of, polarised laser gun doesnt work that well for me. You cant pew pew for 2 rounds without reloading. Also its not like you need most of the time. Energy cost reduction is quite crucial, unless you squeeze in power managemenet i guess

You'd do more damage as one melee attack would be roughly the same AP as 7 bullet burst - 5mm SMGs get ridiculous AP redux. But I am also considering Spec Ops, as well, so that's actually 3 feats. There's the possibility of Commando proc which can lead to more takedowns before retreating. But I never said go for it - it's just putting the info out there.

Polarised Laser Guns become pretty good with Amplification mod and Critical Power. I wouldn't call them bread and butter weapon but they are nonetheless very useful to have around. Unless you're running Critical Power, though, you won't really get a lot of value out of them. Also you kind of have to use Infused Rathound with Crit headgear and Focus Stim.

Looking it as a fetish might be the thing. When I was doing the Pillars Ironman there was a dedicated community thinking, discussing and talking about that aspect of the game. Sure, the achievement isn't present in Underrail, but I assure you there are still people who like to think along these lines. Conversely, all my reloads are because I want to explore a certain encounter from several perspectives. Can I reach that room with only a single tile entrance without raising the alarm? Can I brute force my way through here from that angle? How many stealth takedowns should I consider before engaging directly? That sort of stuff. Not saying it's your cup of tea or that it should.

With cool down of 4 turns for only a decrease of resistances, sounds very expensive. Why not Cut Throat then, if you're gonna use melee with SMGs? You're going for high DEX anyway and won't even need INT. Tase 'em and slit 'em. And you even get bonus damage from opportunist bursting into an enemy incapacitaded this way.

I'd actually love to run Cut-Throat in combination with that, tbh. It's an excellent stealth opener when you're going after several enemies because of the stun. Together with Interloper you'd be able to taze another target, then burst a third one down with Expose Weakness and an SMG. And it's also quite good for human bosses, as well. You can still incapacitate them through stuff like Pneumatic Leather Gloves then apply resistance malus and Cut-Ttroath them for a ton. It's a neat combo.

Would the psi-slot thing work better if it was tied to your individual psi-skills rather than intelligence? Like you have separate psi-slots for your Thought Control and Psychokinesis schools that increase based on how many points you invest in each skill? As it is now, I feel like making psi-hybrid characters is a bit to restricting and not as fun as before.

Don't bring stuff with you. Deep Caverns is all about the nightmarish scrounging and survival, basically putting all your scavenging skills to the test.
