I've already bought with me and stashed in one of those barrels... I guess this can't hurt. In general i play very conservatively with stuff but since mid game i could be really lax with that and i was. Sniper rifle is excellent to save ammo, tho.

Resource scarcity on Deep Caverns is not that bad as people say. It was kinda bad for me since you could get vials and acid/napalm there, but almost no bonding agent. My current playtrough i'm stashing bonding agents since the beggining of the game.

Update on pre-Depot A shields: there are three shields in Protectorate prison. Two are ~170, one is ~330, thus trash, so to speak. Lunatic one south of GMS compound stays as the best choice.
The real chad move is to assassinate Jack Quicksilver near GMS right after completing his quest, one easy fight for a very good shield.
Fuck O****s.

expertise works when you spray and pray?

those initiative boosts... is there a story behind that?
If you're asking if it works with SMGs, of course it does?

Initiative... Ehm I didn't know what else to take at that high level. You got a different feat in mind? I'm open to suggestions

That cozy feel when Constantine sells you the biohazard suit before gassing the drones... Avoiding the mutagen gas is a bitch, and you get to loot everything before leaving

Turn right after Alpha Centauri
Would the psi-slot thing work better if it was tied to your individual psi-skills rather than intelligence? Like you have separate psi-slots for your Thought Control and Psychokinesis schools that increase based on how many points you invest in each skill? As it is now, I feel like making psi-hybrid characters is a bit to restricting and not as fun as before.

I am fine with int other builds need more than one attribute, too. My problem is that increasing int gives so few slots. I mean 8 for 12 in is pathetic and it was worse before. 12 is quite an investment for a secondary attribute and it is not that big of an upgrade over 6, 8 or 10 int. I mean sure it is noticeable but 12 is still a steep investment. Also that new PSI headband component is stupid. Only one extra slot on fixed requirements competing with already strong components. If at least there were more versions with higher requirements offering 2,3 or even 4 slots it might be more interesting. Worst of all, thanks Styg , you LOSE that innervated slot completely if you switch head gear and PSI needs to swap constantly to at least motion detection goggles all the time to avoid being blown to smithereens by mines or getting detected by enemies in stealth so not only do you need to waste a lot of inhalants if you need to switch up spells now you also need to waste them when you just need to swap head gear.

Before releasing the gas, descend and kill all Drones without haste, then loot, and only then go back and release the gas.

I know, but i like doing that way for roleplaying reasons. I like em turning into muties.

Speaking of loot, i wonder when we're gonna get an customizable difficulty update. Styg said it might happen. I love dominating, but the money nerf is bullshit. I already live in Brazil, i don't need inflation on my games too. I have no choice but scam Ray with the Freighter exploit.

A lot of tedium added for no real reason. Not like it makes anything much harder, just more grindy.

If only Styg would give us a way so that we can mod the game ourselves...

He seem to be against the idea. Hope he change his mind after Infusion is released. Game needs mod suport so we can get stuff like Someguyseries in Fallout New Vegas. New Vegas Bounties was a modding masterpiece. We need stuff like that in Underrail.

What is overall the best melee weapon type in Underrail? Swords, spears, hammers, knives, or unarmed? I have completed a playthrough with a sword user and the damage can get pretty insane with crits, how do the other weapon types compare?

I can say there's no best type for sure. They all got their pros and cons. Only after trying everything will you decide which ones you like best.

Sword, for that matter, can do very high damage through crits as you've noticed, but are more dependent on RNG in comparison to other types since they gain bonuses for no miss chains. They are riskier in a way.

My favourite melee weapon is the Pneumatic Leather Glove. Tons of cc on a stick and very versatile.

Spears can make you nearly impenetrable as they have 100 % block chance through perks and if you combine with good heavy armour you won't suffer melee damage.

Knives are the highest base crit of them all and their damage is not bad at all, but definitely won't compare to the ceiling swords can reach.

mind you that i never played bullet things.

fatal throw seem like free AP for you
Other than that... what diff are you playing?
maybe cutthroat for some fun? Some crafting feats?
I'm on Normal difficulty. I did consider Fatal Throw, but figured I wouldn't use it because stuff would die too fast. Maybe wrong? I am getting Ambush now, but I could still get Fatal Throw as the second feat.

It's my first time playing the game! I'll play hard for the next one.

Reconsider - you'll probably get bored after the tutorial area. Go Hard/Oddity.
I am playing Oddity mode. I can turn up the difficulty right?
Only when you start a new game. I really like the oddity mode, but you might find it tedious to go dumpster diving for XP points.

Don't stress so much about your first run. It's quite fun restarting if it gets boring. Probably the best part of the game, building your character.

This is rather useful for figuring out what sort of a build you want. Wiki is useful too and doesn't spoil too much of the game, although you'll benefit from discovering what is what by yourself.

Funny you're talking about crawlers, i'm farming them right now! Does the crawlers from black crawler lair respawn? Pretty easy farming there, when you enter you usually get ambushed by just one. Dispatch it then lay several layers of bear craps, detonate C4 and they all come rushing to the traps so you can safely kill all of them.
