I am actually more interested in the types of armour people can make rather than the weapons.

what do you seek exactly?

Also don't look for infused leathers on web, those got nerfed badly

The heavier Expedition leathers in particular, although Ancient Rathound is a good substitute. The combination of Sea Serpent Scales with very high quality Hard Foam Pudding and Kevlar Cloth can produce nearly impenetrable defence with no Strength requirement. But of course when it comes to those types of materials it's not easy, or guaranteed you will find them. So the thing is how good can something like q110-120 in various combinations be.

Since I have never build one, riot armor for PSI with black cloth and regenerative vest. Heard it is a bit better due to lower armor penalty for some strange reason compared to tac vest.

Sormibaeren have a lot of good quality leathers in their villages. One more reason to pay them a visit.
Also more heartbreak poison bolts than you could ever need, if you're runnin' with a crossbow.
Not to mention their serpentine cocaine. I don't even raid villages right away because i'd rather farm them at my trapped biological napalm ridden acidic beach shore. They die painfully so i can party hard with their awesome drugs.

Cool stuff. But if this is your Space Pirate build, have you considered an energy edge emitter?

I have to say: ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT went into the game so far. Playing it with the newest style and I'm just wow, it's new and restrictive etc. and I love it. Playing a Tin Can AR build focusing on Criticals. Haven't even built super steel armor yet but I have a ton of it. Just maxed out the Full Auto specialization. Not sure what to focus on next. My 9mm AR combined with a 5mm Impala really does a shit-ton.

It makes me excited to play a riot shield pistolier next.

Are pistols viable in the end game? Or will I be frustrated all the live long day?
Yes. With a crit build and high dex, .44s will demolish anything. One of the most fun builds i did was a pistolero. 44 pistol in one hand, 5mm Silenced Neoluger in the other. Could pull off stealth kills and even use it in straight up battles, firing it for like 5 AP doing tons of critical damage. The only downside is range, though. But at least you don't get move and shoot penalties.

It's a difficult question to answer when it comes to Underrail... viable - yes. Are you going to enjoy them?... dunno.

So which is it, viable or frustrating? You guys are killing me.
I've seen lots of OP builds with pistols. Combine loads of DEX with insane critical chance and you get low AP shots with massive damage for what you're putting into it. That and the fact that you can craft plasma, energy and even chemical pistols too. Pistols are a great class to play on their own. My shotgun build relies on them for mid-range damage and as alternative means of damaging enemies.

These are not my videos.

Depends on what kind of pistol you wanna go with. Energy Pistols (Lasers & Plasma) work wonders if you get the techy perks to up their energy and critical power, and chem pistols are great fun once you know how to use 'em. Ballistic pistol I haven't messed with yet, either a maximum dexterity run with Gunslinger or Critical Power, or something involving riot shields.

Okay thanks dudes. I'll stop bothering you guys and just play the game now.

Don't think you're bothering anyone, really ;). After all I think every nerd here is here because they like talking about the game.

Ultimately, the game is about making mistakes. Even if you pilot a tuned-up, min-maxed build with every piece of gear you will still die because you won't know how to pilot it yet.

Only thing I regret about doing my current dominating difficulty run is that I am running on the classic system and not the oddity. I think I like it better.

I think I am getting used to the dominating difficulty. Without spoilers, are there any massive difficulty spikes down the road past the Depot B? I posted my build before: I am playing a shotgun and pistols build, with specialization in shotgun DMG, and throwing. I have also a good amount of crafting thrown in for versatility. I block chokepoints with throwing nets, hold them out with incedinaries and then move in with the shotgun for a nicely lined up killzone. Halfway through the Depot B and I am not experiencing any difficulties. I'm already prepared for acidic damage by having the right armor, and loads and loads of incedinary grenades to torch anything that glows.

New enemy types as well as additional enemies, updated AI behaviour, boss hp modifier. As long as you don't expect what you've seen on lower difficulties you'll be fine.

PS: you might wanna keep some Antithermic gear if you want to use lots of Molotovs.
