No way to get it without joining. I'm making a new build, versatility critical laser. Mainly looking for good components for the pistols.
Eh, you can just slaughter them and take the loot, you don't aggro the entire city if you freak out on a faction, just the faction itself.

Isn't that basically your chemical pistol build with 2 feats swapped out? Or just instead of throwing.

an early Coretech Respirator

You can pickpocket these, along with their charging armor - seems like an oversight tbh.

Toying around with a fairly standard Psychokinetic Hammerman, now in Junkyard in Dominating without much trouble. I'm really enjoying the couple of small new encounters added to the very early game - this time I got the Ryl [sic] warehouse defence one.

Initial experience of the controversial psi changes is that it seems to be too clunky fiddly. I would only have kept the "Spellbook" idea to reduce hyperflexibility, but seems just busyworky to essentially have two different mana pots to carry around.

As is tradition, already wondering if I should just reroll for a Versatility Crossbow Chem Pistolman. Or a sniper. Or...

Is power management worth it? I dropped opportunist from my build to get it, but now I'm not so sure that was a good decision. It is useful for sure, gets you a good shield emitter, makes your cloaking device last longer, etc, but is all that worth a feat on a non-energy pistol build and at the expense of opportunist?

Power Management is probably more useful now that shields lose more energy at the end of the turn, but still nothing amazing. Opportunist is easy to trigger and definitely makes a difference.

With PM you're looking at ~2000 HP shields and expanded capacitance for energy pistols, tasers, cloaks, NV goggles and such. As QoL feature it's great, it's mandatory for the energy chars, but for the rest - it depends. If you're playing SMG or AR builds - don't drop Opportunist, ever.

It works, but considering the amount of consumables you have to go through, picking the Rathound Regalia for maybe a fifth of the cost and just sneaking past the rathounds is the overall more comfortable option, imo.
Went through the Silent Isle yesterday and it was way more smooth and less rage inducing than usual. First order of business is to remove the rathounds. Usually I drop some Molotov on them, but it's a bad decision - it's makes them scatter and you don't really want them to mix with the bugs. I aggroed them and retreated back to the boat - Cap'n helped me to dispatch them and his gunfire attracted the attention of two bugs. He is also useful as one of the bugs attacked him and not me, allowing my squishy char to survive. Two bugs dead with the help of frag grenade, which attracted one Goliath and made him to move East. I moved to the West and there, it's a matter of sneaking to get the Obsidian oddity and then get the cargo. Way back is through the East, completing the circle. I used opportunity and silently shanked the remaining three small bugs. Now, one Goliath was standing right in front of the boat and was kinda bugged, no pun intended - he didn't move at all as usual, just chilling out. Using one bear trap, one adrenaline shot, two .44 W2C bullets and a lot of shanking he was removed from the way.

Well-done. Sounds like you had fun which is the most important bit. Never said you can't straight up engage them, but I am fairly certain there can be different placements due to random movements of the Goliaths. They can show up earlier than expected and it's that bit that bothers me the most. But that's down to personal preference.

is conditioning worth it if combined with other resources of dmg reduction?
like
- conditioning
- aegis
- lifting belt
- ancient rathound leather armor/boots.

In my opinion - yes. Especially with higher Con characters. There's a certain mathematical threshold at which you're able to reach full damage immunity with Specced Stoicism, Aegis and Morphine if you're into that sort of thing. You will have to do the hardcore math yourself, though.

Well, as I said, something happened and Goliaths were frozen in place, making stealthing past them a breeze. Sadly, it happened only after I already got what I needed and was walking back. Now we need to discover what exactly bugged the Goliaths so it could be done BEFORE obtaining the cargo.

Well... I have a bit that might help a little. The Silent Isle has this thing about mobs moving and reacting to sound only when in turn-based mode. The same phenomenon can be observed with the Rathound pack before the Rathound King. How it works is that you make some noise someplace but no mob reacts to it. Then you stealthily move close to one and initiate turn-based mode as to not have it end due to you being too close to enemies. Then the mobs start moving to the spot you made the noise at. If you've made noise during combat the Goliaths will go to investigate. If you end combat in the mean time before they become aware of you it's possible that they will move to the spot without continuing to investigate new forms of sound outside of combat. Who knows - I am just extrapolating here.

But, regardless, on the very least it's a good way to get them out of the way for some even easier sneaking around.

Basically, yes. But no SI on this one because i want to play with spears for a bit.

Why didn't you take opportunist on that chem pistol build? It procs all the time.

It wasn't needed. The damage bonus would be nice, but except for bosses, most enemies were dead after 2 shots. My build doesn't need all the feats though. At least 2 of them can be whatever you want to be.

went back and erradicated protectorate presence. junkyard embassy, 2 water bases, big base in core docks, fort in upper metro, small regiment by tchort gates... Along with whatever happened in free drones questline.

Nothing gets mentioned by freedrones nor in ending slides, they make no sense even.

I remember trying that a long time ago, as well. You will probably skip doing that from now on :).

btw, could it be that body horror in lemurian health centre that isnt shown is somewhat similar to tchort itself?

Other than one being a single mind versus something that is a fusion between The Master and the C-Consciousness, they appear to bear similarities, yes. Albeit the single mind would like to die whereas Tchort seeks ever-increasing power.

That Lemurian doctor thing reminds me of the corridor of revulsion in Fallout 1. Also, i heard that you die if you resist the will checks, i'm curious. What happens?

Tbh a lot more than that, I started taking random feats at lvl 14. Chemical pistol just has solution for everything by itself, feels like pre-nerf PSI.

Too bad the on-hit is seemingly capped at 75%.

If you can hack the door of the computer room at Panacea lab, the kamikazes will blow up on you, alerting all the map. This way you can re-stealth and they'll engage the Industrial robot.

Funny enough, they all died trying to kill it and the robot killed them all using melee.

There's a reason why these are nicknamed Chadbots, you know.
