Where does the 9 AGI jump in front of the JSHQ lead?

Between the plasma turret rows, next to the fence.

I have another psi question. right now I am stocked with inhalants but I burn through psi points really quickly, or so I think, on the other hand I dont get that many shrooms and only have two so far (didnt play long and currently try to kill psi beetles for the rescue mission) but need at least 3 to have enough mats for only one inhalant. It seems the points I burn getting the shrooms will be more than what I get in return? Or is this just an early game problem?

Early game problem. You can buy them too, they are essentially psi ammo.

So, i'm on level 18. Now it's the time to real add up damage. I'm think about getting Taste for Blood now, then Onslaught next. TfB is more reliable than onslaught, i won't lose the stacks if i miss and killing things too fast won't be a problem neither, i get a stack for kills too. Seems like Becket is selling bigger stacks of nail bombs now, which is great for me. When i get both Onslaught and TfB, the damage should be crazy. Level 22 is where i'll decide between decapitate or temporal acceleration.

The only tough fight so far was the beast, that i did without using traps because i'm retarded. Alas, Dan and his friend died in the battle. I used incapacitation on a bladeling thing in a narrow hallway to use as a bottle neck throwing toxic grenades on the other 20 or so left for me to kill alone. Good thing i have a shitload of MP with this build, so they didn't hit me once.

RIP Dan, dead but not forgotten

Parabalus, you asked about the damage in comparing to high dex builds, my flurries are dealing around ~700 damage on a crit. Few things survive a claymore flurry. While the non crit hit does not deal much damage, when it crits it's around ~200. Not too shabby. Also, the claymore also has a chance to daze and even stun opponents, adding to the stun chance i already have on cheap shots. When i got the claymore, i just went ahead and killed Balor and all his gang. I'm at lvl 16 now, hit chance got better but it's still a little problematic with some enemies. Sweep helps, and there's nets, tasers and flashbangs just in case. Too bad styg made impossible to cheese Aran's gear with toxic grenades before the end of expedition. Having to finish the expansion just to get his gear sucks.

The flurries should go over 3-4k later on.

How did you deal with the >20 Ironheads per map? Split the packs?

If you really want the katana you might as well clone it.

Early game problem, plus you can find many shrooms places without beetles.

Yeah. If the map has more than one exit grid it's easy for me. I came from grid A, engaged enemy group, killed some of them, if i'm in combat and want to leave, i'll exit at grid B and re enter grid A. Did this to get MacLander swords, but on Balor's map i did it too. Not my main strategy but worked in a pinch. Also, lots of flashbangs. I don't think i played a build that used flashbangs this much.

I wish i could craft barbed throwing nets, they're awesome for TfB. Also, why is the Flayer such a manlet? He's half the height of my player character.

PSA: If a build requires you to set 15 bear traps before every fight, then the build isn't viable.

Including Depot A?
I said *every* fight, not certain really difficult ones. I'm trying max dex min str knife on hard right now and genuinely cannot even damage most enemies, let alone win fights. I'm sure this gets powerful late on with bloodthirst and vile wounds and a dozen other stacking damage bonuses, but low strength melee cannot do shit in the early game.

I'd say that having to play like that means that the fights were 'tough'.

That's my most recent build and it wasn't that bad - barring the robots. Think I did stealth a lot of depot A though.

Not really. I only had to do that on those two screens though. I was seriously underleveled, and on dominating both Balor and MacLander had thousands of HP. I had to cheese a little to thin out the ironheads, but once i got the Claymore, it all got smooth. Having the hability to sweep made everything smoother. The map above Balors compound was easy. I sneaked to the center and made some noise, sneaked back to one house, throwed crawler caltrops outside and a gas grenade inside, lured all of them at once, they ran into the caltrops and gas, hide out of their LOS, started to stun, then it was flurry time. One, two, three, flashbang, repeat, taser, repeat, net, repeat, all in one go. Untouchable.

So you had to cheese the two screens / Balor, meaning those fights were tough for your build, at least at whatever level you went in.

My sword build - which struggled in some other fights - could take the Balor map 'straight', and take down Balor in two flurries, which I didn't expect. On other occasions I also had to cheese the map transitions, which, again, suggests the builds were finding it tough. For my swordboy, I think it would have been a struggle to do some of the native big shots.

There's probably only two good ways to beat the curve - one is to do enough damage with the crit stack, and get potential for thousands of max dmg per flurry by midgame; the other is probably the 10 AGI Sprint road runner way, though obviously not always viable. I just feel like any melee build will always run into these problems, though they're not unsurmountable.

Yeah, the MacLander screen needed the cheese. It's a small map with little to no cover, around 10 ironheads, 2 dobermanns and the boss. That early on, there was no way to take them out head on. Balor's map was way easier, plenty of cover and doorways to bottleneck the enemies. Taking Balor mano-a-mano is easy for any build as he doesn't have mobility to get you. After the claymore i didn't need to cheese anymore, even did the beast without any traps. But to be fair, i didn't enjoy the build that much. Not because it's sub optimal, but because i simply tire of melee builds eventually. I just like the gunplay too much. I'm cooking a versatility stealth shotgunner with 3 PER. Sound memey to you guys? There's always a new freaky build on the works at CHEMS' kitchen.

How'd you kill burrowers? Like, literally even a single burrower? Takes 5-6 traps in a row somehow to kill one, they tank 4-5 straight turns of knife attacks, one can kill you from full health, and their areas are all crammed with spawn that make stealth impossible.

I don't use traps (skill it just for detection), too much time wasted.

You can kill one in a round with expose weakness, but realistically easiest just to avoid them till later. You can stealth past those in Buzzer's or Camp Hathor though, needs some trial and error.

Your knife build should have enough crit/Claw bio/at least electricity to blow a burrower in 1-2 turns post-Depot A. So the only problem is the burrower infested minidungeon with the bleeding guy outside in the early game, which is optional.

Maximize crit chance.
Or just play SI build

Welp, this run ends at depot A. I don't know how you would even cheese this with traps, the dogs and mutants are so dense and they scurry around so chaotically I can't set a single one before getting bumped, and obviously combat with even one acid mutant is impossible. I'm sure people have beaten hard and dominating with knife builds, but I have trouble imagining how.

There's bottlenecks for each fight, usually in doorways, so that if you've been maxing stealth especially it's easy to set two or three traps and then get started. Siphoner leather armour & tabi boots (via Blaine) would up your acid resistance. Flashbangs, tasers, and molotov cocktails allow crowd control. Cheap shots is another way. You never want to be fighting the dogs/mutants in an open area where you end your turn with multiple of them able to attack you.

Knife IS one fof the tougher early game builds.
