I do like the pixel art that guy created, though. At least some backers have talent....*ducks* :)

Wow, they announce how spells work and nobody talks about it?

I'm happy with it, I thnk they needed to have everything a lot more together before doing the KS but having put down $20 half-heartedly I am now definitely keeping it there. I always liked dynamic modification of spells.

Modification of spell only by magician. I hope they have something for the fighter and thieves.

Where is your article? Are they sleeping in the Codex HQ? If it takes longer, then PM me your article. I take it with all the flaws.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to include everything talked about as the article was already long enough. As I listen to my recording of the interview and I notice anything else that I didn't include in the original article I'll post it.

No rune drawing? :decline:

Not sure what to make of the significant class restrictions. In all LG-style RPGs we were limited only by resources (there was never enough total skill points/upgrades in the game to master everything, but you were free to pick and choose whatever you wanted as long as you had the points to distribute).
Impossible to judge until I get my hands on the game.

Should give significantly different play experiences based on selected class on the positive side. On the negative side I'm not sure how much freedom we will get during character creation at all.

Where are you guys getting that there are "significant class restrictions"? There aren't.

From Update #19:
For instance, a mage might learn how to transfigure the runes for a Fireball, POR FLAM, to enlarge its blast radius. As the mage’s knowledge deepens, to make the Fireball dance around the chamber, seeking out each nearby foe in turn. Or perhaps instead, to burn with a violet aura, which clings to foes longer and with more terrible effect. Ultimately, a mage can craft their own repertoire of unique and powerful runes.
I think now, that this is simple a mistake by the word 'mage'. If the would have used 'magic specialist of any class', then this would not so problematic. You can start the game as a mage, fighter or thief, so the choice to use the word 'mage' was not the best by Otherside. But the one who spread this false interpretation based on the word 'mage', seems to be me. :?

So, what is your guys reasoning as to why this KS isn't doing better? It's a pretty safe bet that they're going to make their baseline, but even the first stretch goal is far from guaranteed.
From what I saw, the REAL funding goal is usually to hit a considerable amount of stretchgoals ... let's face it, 600k isn't a whole lot of money to make a game with in 2015.

The WL2 KS made three millions ... and if I compare what it ended up being with what UUW-alike you can make with a mere 600k, that doesn't inspire a whole lot of confidence.
Then again, the LoG KS got much, much less, and it was still a fairly decend - if limited - game.

Anyway, what's your guys take on why this one is struggling?

Memory mismatch. I obviously go my games mixed up somewhere along the way ... I even did a quick google to verify this wasn't the case, but a KS for the LoG live action series thingy foiled my attempt.
My apologies for causing confusion - I'll edit my original post.

Edit: Ah, looks like you cannot actually do this with this forum software. Fair enough, you guys will have to live with my apology.
The point of my post remains intact, though...
