I bought, and also posted on plebbit for visibility.

EDIT: First problem I can notice is that no resolution is giving me actual fullscreen when using the "Windowed Fullscreen" option. I'm using DLDSR at x1.78 (2560x1440 natvie, 3413x1920 with DLDSR).

Looks like the anti-AI twitter crowd found you. It's always depressing to see these people sperge out on the steam forums of some indie game using AI for placeholder stuff, while the same clowns won't say shit when their favorite giant corp uses it (like Adobe integrating it into their software).

Hope launch is treating you well.

Well, we'd gladly take the contact of any artist who is capable to hand draw us 200-250 portraits in a couple of months, on an indie budget.

Somehow the chatter stopped at this point but we keep hoping one of these nice folks has one of these artists in his back pocket somewhere.

About the patch, we had to roll it back.

Turns out they keyboard issues (input.ini) are due to this bug in UE:

Not an easy fix, we're still investigating. We would not want people to manually edit their INI files. Out temp fix somehow made ESC key unresponsive so the fix was not working.

The other bug that messes up the hero appearance was fixed but it was packaged with this one and both got rolled back. We might need to do two separate patches now if this input.ini issues takes more time.

AI is a tool. Use it well, it gets great results. Ignore the morons trying to tell you otherwise. Having said that, I do believe hand drawn portraits do have an edge especially if you're aiming for a particular style or art-direction, just like JA 1, 2 and to a less degree, 3 did.
As a fan of both Dead State and Jagged Alliance, I'm looking forward to the full game coming out since I'm way past being burned out on EA.

Make the Codex Great Again! RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Now i dont mind comedy in games, but one of the first teammates you get is a dumb police deputy called Billy Bo who ticks all the tropes of southern inbred stupidity (including ears that just scream otoplasty). I can just see him going ALL YA ALL etc
Haven't seen the game yet but this sounds very Jagged Alliance to me. Bring on those character shticks!

And congrats on the EA release!!

Good news!

After going down the deepest rabbit hole on the Unread forums, our coder found out the root of the issue with the keybinds was a massive lazy bug of Epic proportions that their devs just CBA to fix. It's so idiotic it's not even worth mentioning. He found a workaround though.

Bottom line, both the hero appearance fix and the keybinds fix are now back online and should work.

Bought to support developers, but doubt I'll have time to play. All the best!

And good on ya for not using body type :salute:

I'm almost feeling bad for pirating it(although I haven't played it yet I confess).

Selling video games in 2024 is hard, bro. Selling EA games is even harder.

That said, we don't have any idea what financial goal Urban Strife is targeting unless they tell us.

Urban Strife, Sword Haven, New Arcline, Archaelund, Banquet for Fools—every RPG I’ve wishlisted this year is still in early access. I’m not starting or buying any of them until they’re fully complete. From a customer’s perspective, there’s no point. Even when these games reach version 1.0, they’re unlikely to be bug-free. If I start now, I’ll get 10 hours of content, burn out on them, and never touch them again.

Instead, waiting a bit longer often means getting a more polished experience and a hefty discount. That’s why these early-access games aren’t selling as well. Developers should just release finished games; this early-access trend is shooting themselves in the foot.

Actually the reviews vs copies sold is pretty bad compared to the average. Meaning we should have way more reviews. We have no clue how you get people to stop playing to give you a review. If they hate your game, they do it after 30 minutes. If they like it, they play it to exhaustion and CBA about your review numbers. Oh well, at least they're playing, I guess.

Colony Ship sold 10 times more in the first few days with a fraction of the budget(probably) and it still couldn't manage to sell enough to keep them in business. This is not looking good honestly.

To be fair, I was expecting this game to do better, but maybe I overrated the hype around it.

Why did JA3 sell so well? Tap into that, if possible. But I have no idea why certain games get big, and some good ones go to die in a corner. However, not saying Urban Strife will suffer this fate. I hope it does great, and we get the true vision at some point.

Better presentantion and bigger publisher(THQ Nordic) should be the logical conclusion. Although that's not always the case.

Meaning you're not selling a lot too? Or that you're actually selling a fair amount?
