Who the fuck cares about raytracing,it is one of those invative shit tech that goes nowhere.

Nah, raytracing is a big deal. For one thing, the algorithm is just so damn simple. You can get genuinely photorealistic results, and get them much more easily than with conventional shaders 'n shit.

The only downside really is computational cost. It has been too high to allow RT high-rez raytracing. The hardware is just about getting there now. I don't know if we'll actually see it in production with current-gen iron, but soon we will, and games won't ever look the same.

Aaaa this game sounds like it's made for me!!!

So excited and so grateful to all of you for convincing me to play Bloodlines 1!!! Now I can legit act like that girl that totally played the original game before it was a big deal even if it was only a couple days before the announcement lol

you should go back to your Sherry schtick

Prime Junta ,i am sure that it will be the next big thing, just like VR was and google glass was,etc etc.

Bad analogy. VR and Google glass etc require a new kind of peripheral. Raytracing just requires a more powerful GPU and better algorithms. Seriously: once the hardware is up to the task, raytracing is a no-brainer. It's simpler and the results look better.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
One of VtMB's core qualities to me was how it was essentially a time capsule of '03. Back when the Matrix, trenchcoats, and ninjas were still cool, when dance clubs were dominated by German technogoths and occult poseurs, when internet cafés were still a thing, when people had to peruse sleazy sex shops for their needs since the Internet was still a virgin, when everyone low key bashed Bush all the time, when technology didn't encroach as much on everyone's social lives, and when everyone went through life with a fairly flippant devil-may-care attitude straight outta MTV.

That's not something recreatable today, nor should it be. If anything, Bloodlines 2 ought to be a time capsule of 2019 if they want to realize WoD's theme of vampires being a part of modern society; that inevitably includes youngsters being into politicking again, big tech having an even greater grasp on our lives than before, people trying to find their identity outside established conventions of gender and sexual preferences, alienated loners trying to find their place in the world, and all that SJW entails. Anything short of that would be stepping on eggshells and merely pretending. I mean, this shit writes itself. I can already foresee questlines about a vampire and an overly altruistic human falling in love and being ostracized by both vampire and human society, how the traditions of the Camarilla need to adapt to Fledgling wishes of being referred to the proper pronouns, how you have to decide what kind of fake news is sent into circulation, how you have to help out some asylum filled with Kindred afflicted with mental illnesses, and so on.

However, the supernatural blood-hungry setting inevitably comes with some edge, and that world is a hard sell if any party, including the insert minorities and disabled threatened by traditionalists, were to be treated as absolutely or comparatively innocent. Really, all I wish for is non-straight white males to be granted the right to be bastards too.

Only that you say?! LoL a video card that is worth more than 1000 euro is not a thing that every fuck will go and buy,the same shit all those super lux failed accessories. The curent gen of cards can't deliever it in good condition, all the time it kicks the fps down to 30 if lucky and chigs the game. It will be needed at least two generations to get a passable experience. Also the hardware is reaching its limit of possible improvements, unleas there is a new revolutionary invention we will not advance much pass what we have now.

One of the advantages of raytracing is that it's parallelisable down to the pixel level: in theory you could have one ASIC for every ray. If there are limits to hardware parallelisation we're nowhere near them yet. Moreover, work on writing optimised RT raytracing algos for even current-gen cards has barely even started.

It's possible it'll take two generations rather than just one, but it is coming.

(Anyway, nvm this, let's get back to VtM. It's clear you're talking out of your hat as usual, this is just to set the record straight for anyone else that's reading as you'll never admit a mistake.)

If you say so gypsy queen, lets hope we are alive in a few years to talk about this dead technology. If it is not so obsolete that we had forgotten about it,that is. Also you are the one that constantly talks out of your ass :).

But this is boring and juvenile, it either has been done much better in the lore of WoD in general or panders to the puddle-deep talking points of the most trivial of SJWs. It might be modern, but it's modern in the sense of being circulated today, as opposed to being intellectually, spiritually, emotionally or politically relevant for the needs of the century. This is all old news, the language of the mainstream is always the language of the past.

None of these technologies have to go mainstream right away to be successful. VR for example is in a good state. There are 4+ million PCVR HMDs out there according to Nvidia. The VR-only Beat Saber also reached 1+ million in units sold recently. PSVR is also doing well.

This video does a good job of showing some of the potential of ray tracing. Not everyone will be able to afford it right now, but that doesn't mean they should only target mainstream hardware. I probably won't have a RTX GPU either when it releases, but when I replay it later I'll have some extras to look forward to.

... the whole Japanese video game industry is a frankenstein made of western influences with Japanese perspective. As to be both superficial and distilled for a Japanese audience.

It should come as no surprise really, an imitation cannot be as good as original, even when it is competent ...

Despite that they've made a good amount of excellent games, and unlike Western AAA games they still continue to make them.

Hub based with free exploration of hubs from the start, according to one preview.

Even better, if we can bounce between hubs and do different quests that span multiple hubs like the original, but the difference is we're free to explore them from the start. That's great design and a step up from Bloodlines IMO, where hubs were locked until certain story quests.
Original story was: You are nearly executed and you are given task to finish before you'd be moved to decent society. Simple task. Take explosive, and plant it in warehouse. What could go wrong. 120 killed people later, and explosion of warehouse later, you got into new hub... That was necessary to give you a hunch that something might be wrong. But it's just a hunch. One hit into head later, and it was more than just a hunch.

So for story reason, limiting destructive activities of new vampire into a slum where nobody gives a shit about dead body, or three, was necessary. Downtown should be locked at first because of quarantine, and original location should be part of quarantine. And until prince fabricates permission for main character, or quarantine is lifted, it should be no go. After that it might be unlocked more, but honestly allowing fresh vampire to Chinatown where hunters are at every corner might be unwise. Mr Ox would brainwash him to return with bag of explosives, and blow up himself and prince. Not to mention it was home turf of theirs competitors, and he'd be only tolerated in China town.

Thus initial locking of hubs was correct decision. They should unlock them after a ship, or after solving the disease problem. But it would also means MUCH better weapons early on. And that would make stuff bit too easy.

You are a Thin-Blood. In a social vampire hierarchy you are lower than indian street shit collector.
This:

*snip*

Based on tabletop, that fared THAT bad that caused White Wolf to be closed
"Political Agenda" "pronouns"

It is less than a day and my hype already withered A LOT

FFS that is NOT what caused the firestorm, you anti-SJW are just as bad on the one extreme where body shaming is ok (as was done above in this thread) vs the ultra-warrior who finds offense in everything.

Pronouns had NOTHING to do with with Paradox stepping in, poor wording of the first printing implying support to play as a white supremacist vampire and making comments about the atrocities in real life Chechnya that was easily taken out of context to the point Russian media quoted the book to 'prove' said atrocities didn't happen it was just rumors started with a game is what caused Nu-White Wolf to be reigned in. Let's use facts not your political agenda when discussing the topic.

Actually I'm pretty sure you start as a thin blood for tutorial purposes and then you'll get stronger - at which point DLCs of Clans will be applicable.
The logical jump to political agendas shows fixation with this shit. I mean wait at least to have some clue first, ffs.

Downtown should be locked at first because of quarantine, and original location should be part of quarantine.
The point was that this story in particular does not lock out hubs which, hopefully, points to greater non linearity. Perhaps tied even to the main quest.

But no, if Downtown was in quarantine then clubs wouldn't be open and the PC wouldn't find out about the disease when finally and IF talking to Strauss or Damsel.

The reason why the hubs are locked is simply because the main quest is linear and your PC has no motivation (LaCroix's orders or Domination) to go places.

Objectively, Bloodlines was utter garbage in so many areas. Combat was shit and clunky even for 2004 standards, the game fell apart after the first half (being generous here), social skills became useless, melee is an absolute pain at the end of the game.
You couldn't even finish the fucking game unpatched. It always crashed at the end of the society of Leopold main quest.

Yet, I loved the game. Still do, of course. It fell into a sweet time-spot. 2004, when women didn't ruin gaming yet, but also providing good, "immersive" 3D graphics.
Quirky characters you just had to love, lots of retarded sexualization of females. It was a perfectly crafted male power fantasy pretty much built for me. Ironically, with faggy vampires.

I know we will never get a game like this again. Still, it pains me seeing the successor will be, at best, some mechanically solid and interesting but ultimately bland cookie cutter game, like a million others out there.

Guess I have to live with just being a shitlord on a horse in medieval bohemia. :negative:

Non-linearity shouldn't mean "go wherever, whenever", that's open-world design and invites repetitve tasks that nobody here wants (except Fluent). It must be tempered by a very logical and strict structure.

In the same vein, "player agency" shouldn't mean that player can do whatever they want at any point of the game. That is what I liked about one of the devs specifically saying what the player does at first 15 or 30 mins of the game can affect the game hours down the line. I dislike this degenerate idea that player should be able to go towards absolutely any side at any given moment if they choose to do so.

It's going to be shit, you all know it's going to be shit, and you don't need me to tell you it's going to be shit.

Name me a single instance where a cult game released decades prior suddenly got a sequel and was good.

Promises don't mean shit.
