All those preorders are knee-jerk mindless reactions "because it's Bloodlines!". SoD's debacle was artificially made, while it's a more catechistic RPG than BL2 will ever be, everyone got a little bit too emotional over the tranny, this game looks like it will be like SoD, but 10x.

Yeah, we have to remember that the vast majority are not involved in the discussions, nor keep track of any developments. They just think it sounds or looks cool. But if you actually take the time to look, they're on full-on damage control mode, and for good reason. Tons of even long-term fans of VtM, one of the TTRPG scene's biggest faggots and edgelords, think that V5 is shit.

There's a reason why Revised Edition and Anniversary Edition are still the most popular. Sure, they'll be overtaken by nu-fans at some point, especially due to the expanding PnP market and popularization of nu-RPGs in the wake of D&D 5e faggotry, but it's fucking crazy that so many, starved for so long, didn't jump on V5 right away, but instead shit on it relentlessly.

What debate? The initial question was whether you knew the meaning of the word "romance", which you comprehensively answered (i.e., you haven't the faintest idea). Some people are speculating we're only going to get footage at this year's E3 during the PC Gaming show. That's 3 months away. I'm not sure I can stand to be buried in articles talking about gameplay footage that I haven't been allowed to see for myself. I didn't like it when it happened with Cyberpunk 2077 and I'm not going to like it now either. I'm not familiar with how game development works, but being a year from its release date should mean they have some viable build of the game to show off that's not entirely bare-bones, yes? I suppose some could argue they want to avoid their stuff being dissected and nitpicked over minor things, but some people will do that regardless of how the game is like, either now or at release.

Everything gets filtered through (game) journalists, many of whom may not even have played VtMB or aren't familiar with the WoD source material. But it's their interpretations of the preview, plus the many little, vague droplets the developers casually dump on twitter, that we are basing 100 pages of speculation on. There is so much misinformation surrounding this game, it's tiresome to follow this thread (or any discussion online).
