Honestly I like the sound of that. No matter what you think of Trump... country club conman or warrior for the little guy... there are people out there who control an insane amount of money and power who you've barely ever heard of, and it's a good allegory to make. The question is can they do it without sounding like super SJW communists?

Fuck articles like these. A game journalist has a bunch of ideas about what he wants a game to be about, writes about it and then slips in a few (usually more neutral and nuanced) comments he solicited from the developers to make it look authoritative. Effectively putting his own words in their mouths. Notice that the "country club and troll factory" thing is HIS line and not a direct quote from Brian.

I mean, that was pretty much the theme of the first game* anyway, referenced constantly throughout by most characters (Anarchs and Sabbat's Andrei being the most direct about it), so they're not reinventing the wheel.

That said, my confidence in them not having a total cringefest of a take regarding the subject is next to nil.

*and pretty much the whole Masquerade setting as well, which, interestingly, started as a setting whose main theme was personal horror, but morphed into one of shadowy overlords, invisible politics, secret parallel societies etc.

The answer to that is "Hell no, not a chance in hell."

Unfortunately this is, by far, the current standard.

I have a feeling video game writing will slowly turn into the kind of writing we see on how shows like CSI. All style, no substance, lots of politics.

Bloodlines 2 might be horror fantasy, but its preoccupation with the invisible power structures that lurk within the visible is certainly timely. As Mitsoda points out, there are plenty of vampires in circulation today, even if you’re more likely to find them at a country club, or running a troll factory, than in a crypt. “We don’t know who those people are. We don’t know what they’re into, or what their shell companies are into, or where their money is going. We don’t know who they’re impacting the most, who they’re backing politically. We don’t know a lot about them and that’s all on purpose, because it gives them a lot of power.”

I hope this game is decent enough to be a success :)

Don't really care about western conservatives/liberals "But muh politics", so long the writing is not shove your throat preachy I am OK.

Hopefully more game in WoD setting would come out if this one is a success.

Everyone wants for the game to be an amazing vampire addition, but also most of us aware of the reality that it will sjw filled mediocre garbage.
