but I know who it is

WELL WHO IS IT THEN?!

Someone tag this faggot and tell him to un-ignore me so he can answer the question. He can go back to his Safe Space after that.

EDIT: Storyfag I don't wanna bother you, but you're probably my bestest pal on this website (you're thrilled and honored, I know), so do a brother a favor, please.

There's not a lot of reason to keep the developers a secret.
On the other hand, there's no reason at all not to.

The number of people who:
* are hyped enough about the game to care who the developer is;
and
* will boycott (abandon) the game over not being told immediately
is statistically zero.
What about forgotten pre-orders though? I still wouldn't want to rock the boat if there's just, say, 20k people worldwide who didn't refund.

They're still sending me ads for preodering bloodlines 2. I should clickthrough on one of those and see what happens.

At this point I'll just make my own damn vampire rpg.

Fuck, I guess I have to now.
Don't limit yourself to vampires. The world needs good urban fantasy.

If I do, it'll be cyberpunk vampires with porn.
Make a vampire hunter game ffs, Crom knows the bloodsuckers get their share of the limelight as it is.

Where's the fun in a game in which your character gets repeatedly slaughtered?
if vtmb was more faithful to the lore, grunfeld would have beaten you without issue
he was easily one of the most powerful people you encounter in the game, if we disregard cabby=cain theory, probably the most powerful

Given the player character's lore-unfriendly absurd power level, the only way Bach could beat you is if he had True Faith 5 or more. I mean, they do call him the greatest hunter in Society of Leopold, but True Faith 5 is reserved for Saints and shit, I don't think Bach fits the bill.

he makes himself invulnerable, his true faith is much higher than that

Lul, so that would be True Faith 9, according to the Wiki, which is pretty ridiculous for him to have, despite his zeal. It would basically mean he's just one step below Jesus. Pretty lore-unfriendly by itself, but I guess it balances out with the PC's own inexplicable level of power.

I already have the perfect solution since I'll be using the setting I have for my last few projects. In-universe, there's a SCP Foundation expy that handles vampire affairs and maintains the Partition. Compared to the weird, Lovecraftian shit they see on a daily basis, vampires aren't much. Maybe it'll be a joinable faction, like the FBI flipping mobsters.

When development gets more fleshed out I'll create a dedicated post for it, so it doesn't clog up the VtMB thread.

Because y'know, Bloodlines 2 might actually come out at some point.

And as for the "Make a Hunter game" topic, having a player assume the role of someone on the level of Bach would be the Hunter equivalent of having a player assume the role of some 5th-Gen 1500-year-old Methuselah. It's a bad idea, these "larger-than-life" types of characters don't work as PCs. In a Hunter game, if it they developed it so that it makes any sense at all, you'd probably be stuck with a PC that goes after the dumbest and weakest of Vampires. Like Ash from Bloodlines.

You are overthinking it. Not every vampire hunter has to be Van Helsing and not every vampire has to be Dracula. The basic premise is interesting enough to draw attention and you can use it in many ways, depending on what you want to do with it. Personally I'd go for more gothic style and go back in time instead of using the modern setting, because I find it less fitting the whole "You're a vampire hunter and the night is dark and full or terrors" theme.

I just don't see a particularly interesting plot that you can do with Hunters. Unlike Vampires, they have a fixed, set goal and that's that, not a whole lot you can do with it. You'd either end up hunting some Coterie to prevent them from doing Some Evil Shit(TM) or you'd be out for revenge because some Big Bad Vampire(TM) killed your [insert personal relationship here] etc. Pretty banal.

There are various factions within the Hunter society, but from what I can remember, they're not constantly at each other's throats, scheming and plotting against each other like Vampires do. They also don't have mountains of metaplot that you can rely on to build a story. Feels pretty limited.

How about the actual vampire hunting? You're in a city and you need to figure out where the vampire is before time runs out. Some people in the city can be his allies, so you need to be wary of whom you trust. You can also throw in the requirement of finding out how to kill a vampire (in the vein of Veil of Darkness). The vampire's location, his allies and the method with which he can be killed can be randomized per playthrough. And that isn't even touching the combat system itself.

A game in the WoD setting that isn't heavily story and/or character driven feels like wasted potential, tbh. This sounds more-or-less like some generic detective game with a WoD skin.

Bruh, they already raped the WoD license they bought more than enough. Just... let it be, let it go into Torpor until some other publisher buys it. It's actually painful seeing Fortnite re-skinned and published as a VtM game.

God, that look awful. Also most silent game ever?
