Correct, the curbstomping of the unwashed masses is now in the hands of the Hive World aristocracy who wear expensive and highly complex suits of power armor to hunt and kill the poor so that their youth can learn valuable skills (murder) and have some fun (they hunt the most dangerous game).

Ah yes, those murderous psychos are degenerate rich people, and totally not Ultramarines getting some urban combat training.

Yes, it is weird they all have blue armor with big U iconography and badly copied Greek aesthetics.

GW's Christmas gift for the paying masses is a new Fulgrim model:

https://www.warhammer-community.com...-form-of-fulgrim-daemon-primarch-of-slaanesh/

xmasreveal-dec25-pic1-rxez6hhnj8.jpg

Aside from the whip he's wieling the Fireblade in his upper left hand, the sword that Ferrus Manus had made him all those years ago, and what is implied to be the Laeran Blade in his lower right hand. He also has several head options:

People have already started to meme on the heads.

But some of you might think "didn't Fulgrim already have a daemon primarch model"? He does, except that one's for 30k, it's made out of resin, is about 60% more expensive and is alleged to be a bitch and a half to transport without snapping in half:

I just realized that with the release of this model Fulgrim is the Primarch with the most models currently on sale, with the 40k daemon, 30k daemon and pre-fall Primarch models. Horus, Guilliman and the Lion each have two.

This is of course discounting Alpharius.

Also could count when they sold chaos primarchs in Epic 40k

Come to think of it, that wasn't correct since Angron, Morty and Magnus all have daemon primarch models as well to also put them at 2. If you also include the Epic models those three go up to three and Fulgrim to 4.

Not sure if Lorgar and Perturabo had models back then though.

Only mono gods had their primarchs the others were never playable

So I just found out that there is a Genestealer Cult in one of Necromunda's Hive Cities (hardly surprising, but bear with me). The Cult even multiplied into sufficient numbers to kickstart the psychic beacon, despite being quarantined in that one Hive only. The kicker? Upon receiving the psychic message, the Tyranid Hive Mind decided "that way lies cancer", and stayed clear from Necromunda. Such nice climate they have there
Remember, pollution saves lives.
Imagine being so toxic that even the literal devourerer of worlds is like "nah, I'm good".

They have more plot armour than marines, holy shit.
The only reason they still exist is literally because the Imperium has better shit to do.
The only reason most galactic civilizations exist is because the Imperium doesn't bring its full might to bear, or because that faction represents some kind of cosmic sickness.

Tyranids - virus
Orks - fungal infection
Chaos - insanity
Eldar - terminal degeneracy
Necrons - irritable senility
Tau - weebness

I do wish the heresy focused a bit more on the Interex, DAoT humans who survived and evolved/were friends with most xenos they encountered. They seemed more like the ideal future for humans in 40k but of course the Sons of Horus wiped them all out.

There are around only because of plot armor and GW greed. And if I recall correctly they control a very small and irrelevant part of the galaxy.

...Or because getting rid of a faction in lore also means getting rid of a player's army of miniatures.

The whole point of eternal war is so that players have varied factions to choose from and that they are balanced (or attempted to be balanced) so that players actually want to play the game.

You know, since 40k is a wargame at heart.

Well there's that, but in universe it still doesn't make sense.
Space Marines in game are the most common faction, but in universe there's very few of them and they are supposed to be incredibly rare and precious, but since GW wants to keep selling marines they get put everywhere and are displayed in huge land battles that per their own fluff would them all killed.
Modern 40k fluff isn't great. It wasn't flawless, but ever since 5th ed it's just been getting worse and it doesn't help that GW is trying to sanitize the setting, turning their grimdark universe into yet another marvel wannabe with bright colours and silly model designs.
And it was all because of fucking Ward and his Ultramarine and Grey Knight fetish.

So what is it? Marvel slop or soulful? This is why I hate motherfuckers who use marvel as a complaint becasue you are clueless, at most its the lore but complaining about...color? I know 4th is a grimdark master piece for you but cmon do you need all your miniatures to be covered in AK interactives streaking grime to meet your standards?

When's the last time you saw Blanche getting passed around? Or something gnarly like that bisected guardsmen on a demon prince shoulder? That's what I mean, it seems more tame these days. Maybe its a digital art thing, but it does seem "cleaner", I guess.
1st and 2nd edition were indeed a lot more garish, but Grimdark hadn't really been codified then and they were still more inspired by 2000AD.

Whenever I see the marvel complaint I just ignore whatever the poster says to be honest.

Fair enough then, I meant more of the Corporate Disney Marvel but yeah, Marvel can be pretty hardcore too at times.
Okay I was being a bit rude, I just kinda hate the marvel complaint maybe use MCU but that goes into more of an argument that the same named character show up in a bunch of fights when they kinda shouldnt, however I think thats always been an issue with 40k as it never gets numbers, stats, or troop formations correct but to 40ks argument its never been true hard scifi and GW tends to use "its an ironic setting" more as a defense these days. The other issue is 40k has always worked like how Marvel or DC worked in writing in that its multiple writers that write in the setting and not one person dictating everything.

I know you are correct about 40k getting more bright, however this always hurts GW more than benefits them as they often try to still tell people the imperium is bad when the more they lean towards noble bright it justifies the imperium more and more.
