The worst thing about RT, is the fact that unfair is still super easy despite half of the talents and abilities not working.

>game bugs out and I can't interact with a trap
>"No worries, I'll just save and reload. That usually fixes this kind of bugs"
>Cursor changes to the trap disarm icon, click it, Argenta starts running towards it
>Trips over it, get 4 injuries on different characters
And thus Argenta disarmed the trap LIKE A BOSS.

The lack of "classes" sucks, it means you're inevitably doubling up on shit so a lot of it goes unused. Characters don't feel "special".

So, first conversation with Cassia on the ship after the rescue, she says she always enjoys our conversations. Immediately after, I get a prompt to meet her in my quarters, and she's talking romance.

Is this shit bugged? I haven't even spent 5 minutes with her.
might be intended if you act like a degenerate she
gives you a book how to court a lady

also considering how easy it is to test does talents / abilities work I could literally test everything in few days if I could respec. I know its owlcat's tradition to release buggy shit where half of stuff does not work but its little bit annoying. Cassia trivializes everything so far in unfair act 2 so can't even bother to respec

Just got to the galaxy map. Ah, I see I've been tricked into playing Pathfinder 3. Oh well, at least this time I have my great pal Argenta by my side instead of that absolute arsehole Linzi.
Argenta is most useless character in combat in earlier levels. She cannot hit shit with her bolter, she does bad damage when she does and she is also bad at tanking.

As for general combat, I had all tutorial shit on but it didn't say anywhere that some weapons cannot be used in melee range.
I gave Argenta Lasgun as secondary so she can hit sometimes but then some random mook comes into melee and she cannot attack as both bolter and lasgun do not work..

About Chapter 1 last boss:

WTH am I suppose to do? The CSM doesnt need an army and a sniper, he alone can kill all my party. I´m lvl 13
Yea that is about right. They are super soldiers for a reason that can fight SM and Necrons and shit and live for thousands of years. Few humans are warm up.

Get a Pistol as a second weapon.

I main a ranged combater, specialised in Bolters and never had issues. Positioning is key there and upping BS as well (of course) stacking effects of take aim, rapid fire and after the first kills stacking revel in slaughter makes him a rape machine. Also seems like the CSM is for once portrayed correctly and Bolters sound really powerful, like they should.

Argentas Bolter is weaker than a standard one, btw. You get real bolters on The planet with the Bunker (the Majoris one)

What I do not like in early game is lack of vendors with access to all weapon types and decent armor. My guys are lvl 7, I just killed some communists on my ship trying to organize a worker revolt, they managed to kill some random guardsmen in the process and they had better medium armor than a fucking senechal of the Rogue Trader that specializes in melee.
At the same time I am being offered proficiencies for flamers, meltas and other such weapons on level ups but I have yet to see a single such weapon..

Where is the armory on the capital ship of this "powerful" Rogue Trader?
Where is melta that Arch Militant used? Where is Plasma Pistol Lady Captain used?

Dunno how to do it in Hard but in Beta, "Daring" difficulty a properly built Old Guy should go to kill the Sniper by way of Heroic Act + Cassia/your strategist giving him extra turn. It's the most reliable way. By the time you finish the sniper, the CSM should already move near to the Old Guy due to how the fight goes

The only guy capable of toe to toe with the CSM is probably Pascal. Just give him 4 medkit or something. Argenta should be focusing on clearing mobs with granade+ burst. I bought Henrik at the time but he almost a deadweight, he can't go to melee with the CSM, he got sniped by sniper and all. Ended up just being debuff bot. Idira is probably better in that fight. My RT was Pascal/Idira Class with damage sniper rifle build.

Yes, with levels and buffs from others she can start being useful but one expects a class called Soldier to be usefull at fighting without whole team supporting. Positioning does nothing, even when I flank she only has like 60-70 hit chance vs mooks at lvl 6.
Everyone else in team is very useful.

I am playing on 2nd hardest.

You are fighting a genetically enchanced supersoldier with thousand years of combat experience and magical buffs, what did you expect,a bugbear or orc chief fight?

What I really don't like in RT is combat information overflow. You don't need toknow the exact formulae and 99% of 0 AP akills could be showed to passives so no clicking 0 ap skill every turn. And overbuffing every ally. That's why Iprefer BG3 combat- it has pretty clear definitions - action point, bonus action point, movement. Here, way too many actions are repeatable and overbuffing is how game plays.

Bruh, Argenta is the MVP, just use burst instead of single shots. She can clean whole rooms in one turn or obliterate any bigger enemy, like the boss in the prologue. I nearly 100-0 him with 2 full bursts to the face.

Idk if you tried using bursts, but the percentages to hit are kinda fake there. Burst autohits (tho enemy can still dodge), just the spread of the bullets is random. If you aim at 4 goons, and they all show 25% chance to be hit, the chance is just for the bullet flying in each direction, and you're basically guaranteed to hit someone with every bullet, at least until one of them dies.

I get you, especially bursts start out really bad when it comes to accuracy. The class has in combat build up and profits the most from an officer imho.
If you really think soldiers are bad, have a Psyker in one of the encounters with max veil. They are borderline useless unless you want a few Screamers, Pox-walkers or Chaos spawns (which is what I encountered thus far)

:hmmm:

WoW i never expected to say this, but the journos were right. The game is filled with pointless and retarded convoluted shit, mainly the talents. On top of that the faggots couldn't even make a logical section distribution. There should have been magic talent section, range one, melee one, armour one, skills one,etc etc. They are all lumped together in a incoherent mess. This is the first RPG i meet where i hate fucking levelling. It is painful because of how stupid the talents are. Worst of all is that they are useless situational garbo. Imagine D&D two handed fighting feet was "you get +1 damage for your first attack if your enemy was looking at you from 90degree angle while you have activated this three feets" . All the talents are about minmaxing retarded effects and positioning.

UI is made by reptilians for retards,it is total garbo lol.

Combat is weird with problems, can't say for sure if it s garbo. For now single attack is annoying, this makes psyhos op while shooter people worthless. Bolt rifle on the sister is shit, feels like shooting sling, can't even one shot a peasant. Also lol at how unwashed peasants just run to me and one shot most of me crew, feels like you really are in charge of an elite crew......a mcdonalds elite.

The problem isn't so much the rate of levelling and more the choices it offers.

I feel like I should be focusing on maybe two or three active abilities and dump the rest into passives, because you rarely have a chance or need to use all the actives.

Yeah, the talents are idiotic for sure. You have to spend 20 minutes searching for something decent.

Positioning and "useless situational garbo" like that is what you're supposed to be doing in turn based games. Like tf you want, cast haste and rightclick every enemy whole game?

The problem is that

1: Nearly every talent more complicated than "gives you unconditional 10% dodge", is broken in some way so there is no point in making interesting builds, even tho potential is massive and I had shitload of fun theorycrafting before I realized nothing actually works as it should.

2. Balance needs to be adjusted so you actually care about using "situational garbo" and making absolutely optimal choices at every turn, while right now, whether thanks to difficulty or enemy talents/abilities being bugged too, or just balance being wrong, you can actually just pick braindead choices and rightclick through the game on unfair with ease, so all the complicated talents do look pointless.

is what you're supposed to be doing in turn based games.
Not really, you need situation logical skills that give you and advantage if you are smart enough....or have exp playing tbrpg. There is a difference between getting a +5 damage for attacking engaged enemy from the back or having +5 to hit when flanking. And a whole different thing is you get +1damage on your first attack in combat. Nearly all the talents are useless situational garbo.
It is clear you had seen it from the rest of the post lol.

Oh and most of that garbo doesn't work. Gave the syster some talent that gave her +5 damage for every companion next to her....she still did the same damage lol.

So what is the consensus on the state of the game? Wait a few weeks for the first couple of patches to fix the most egregious issues?
