Had pretty much same number of peak players as wrath (45k vs 46k, in comparison Kingmaker had 22k) which is a pretty damn decent number for an RPG with this budget, wouldn't say it's a flop, quite the contrary, seems like another success.
And unlike Wrath it released day one on Consoles.
I wonder if this is a positive tho, consoletards actually seem to have some human dignity and be much less tolerant to buggy shit than PC gamers, with Wrath they got patched version, but this mess might make them think twice before buying next Owlcat game :M
It seems the game was less buggy on PS5 and Xbox, all ps5 review were positive , same for Xbox. I'm playing on Xbox and had 2 crashes but no bugs so far.

as far as I can tell anything above daring is just inflated numbers for enemies and decreased for the player, why bother? RPGs dont test your skill just your knowledge and ability to exploit the game systems

Clearly you mean divination skills, since only with divination you could see which talents are working and broken thus you could make a build.

I cared about my build at the start but now that I've been playing for a while I've realised that it doesn't matter, all I need to do is get my Officer main to point at Cassia now and then and stand to the side while she massacres every mook in the area

Strap Yourselves In Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
So Adeptus Assholes doesn't seem to want to gun down the shuttles if you don't wipe out his lackeys, can others confirm? I had Pascal take out the gunner on the roof and ignored the others, and the dumbo seemed content to kick and whack my RT and Abelard ineffectually as we melee'd him to death.

After first round of respecs, I just started waiting with lvlups until I'm about to enter a fight, and testing all the talents I just picked, then reloading and picking something else if they don't work.

Sure, you can't really plan a super specific build ahead of time, because half of the talents might not work and will need to be replaced, but tbh improvising and having to pick "best of the worst" options just because they actually work, can be kinda fun in its own way, I don't think any turn based game since KOTC gave me that much challenge, and I like it, since I tend to get immediately bored after I "solve" the game and find no more difficulty in fights.

I mean, Owlcat games seem to be specifically made for autists like me tho

It's cool that you get like 3 consecutive turns and +200 to every stat and whatnot with the current system but what exactly does any of this have to do with the actual Rogue Trader PnP. Because the FFG one sure didn't have any of this. Plus the system would be unplayable in any real world game because everyone has to keep track of 20+ different buffs and debuffs.

Ahhh wouldn't say that, but is escalating that way. You could beat the last two games without going in to build porn and just building few characters on their strengths while ignoring the "if" traits. While in this one everything is about synergies that don't work. There is no clear +5 damage trait. I didn't buy their last game because of the sjw shit, most likely won't waste me gibs on this one seeing how broken it is and how boring the combat is. It is all about trashmobs made out of sponges.

The tabletop system wasn't the most efficient or well-designed by any means, but this.... this looks almost random. I'm curious about the thinking behind the mechanics: they are far too obtuse for the nature of the combat (shitton of trash encounters that are nonetheless fun to see people explode, at least they're fewer than Wrath). It's simply bloat for the sake of bloat, and I am honestly scared to think that someone had to design the hundreds of obtuse perks and counterintuitive mechanics. I fully understand that there's a sperg type of customer that gets a boner for algebra in his combat calculations, but in Rogue Trader you don't win a fight by positioning yourself correctly, using the equipment, you win by comboing abilities like it's Magic The Gathering.

I'm having fun, but the design is clearly degenerate and overtuned.

Regarding the CM boss fight, the real danger is indeed the sniper. It's also peculiar: while all the other fights are .... very clumsily designed (spam trash, spam trash) bar maybe the Generator fight, the CM has some interesting mechanics. I would love that kind of care in more encounters, I hope I get more outside of boss fights.

There are different skills. A master chess player will never win a fight vs a boxer but boxer will never win a chess match vs a Master.

I doubt there are enough people with such disabilities to make the project profitable.
Owlcat is simply too retarded. They have proven that they cannot cope with a defined system, so why should they cope with something of their own creation?
From what I see, the system is shittier than PoE.
Sawyer can be happy that he has no longer created the worst system of all modern CRPG games.

Sorry, nothing is worse than the OG Pillars system with Endurance. Nothing. Maybe Numenera's system with Effort mechanic.

Soyer is still the king of innately rotten core systems. But Owlcat are the kings of bad SUB-systems and BLOAT. Imagine if they didn't have a premade campaign and ruleset?

They are warth traits but all of them about situational magic shit, like you said magic the gathering. Otherwise it is the same system but a lot more authistic and bad.
CM boss fight
Is that the last boss of the first chapter?

If we talk about tough fight lol at the void ship in the closest system to footfall lol.

I did Cassia's recruitment mission and it was very annoying to start surrounded by numerically superior enemies (nevermind having wounded and exhausted party members on top of that). First I beat the first warden (or whatever their titles were), because I didn't trust him. Then I failed all skill checks after meeting Cassia, so I decided to wound her, because I didn't want her killed. This upset the second warden, so I had to kill him and his team too. Sorry, I tried. Getting all the loot from both parties was a positive outcome. I wonder if there will be a unique consequence to leaving no survivors to testify about what happened there.

My melee psyker wasn't performing that great so far (usually he's the first to go down and doesn't do much besides charging and swinging his axe), but I am hoping he is going to finally come together as I found some decent weapons and unlocked Biomancy, which will boost his melee capabilities to be on par of that of Abelard, who is decent and being a melee fighter. Argenta and Abelard are doing their job well enough. Idira was meh, she only contributed majorly to the last fights because I gave her a sniper rifle that was capable of almost killing anyone with a single hit. I am also completely not feeling her playstyle. I am very likely going to replace her with Cassia anyway, which I appreciate more on multiple levels.

There's at least 45k with such disabilities on PC alone it seems. :M
It's actually hard to say. Many people probably bought it because it was Warhammer.
Then there's the Bioware crowd that Owlcat was trying to appeal to, storyfags and others.
If there really were that many idiots, Knights of the Chalice would not have such miserable results.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Is there an option to make the highlight to light up only important people that you could talk with ?

Sort of... you need the Toybox Mod. If you install that there is an option on the 1st page called "Mark Important NPCs" or something like that, it turns them a different color so they are easier to notice.
