ffs, nobody cheers for spending the money on coke and hookers? :decline:

He asked me if I could say something more colorful, and I told him we'd probably need to rent an extra donkey. Surprised he didn't put that in.

You know how to throw a party mister!

Looking at this screenshot I can't help but want destructible environments (X-COM style) in Wasteland 3.

I'm sure the game will be good, but shit, you could tell me these screenshots are from a Russian shovelware game and I'd believe it.

Damn you, Planet Alcatraz, for forever dooming all top-down 3D non-fantasy RPGs to be compared to Russian shovelware

Bros, this isn't a game for gfxfags. If You want to masturbate over pretty pictures, You'll have Project Eternity for that.

It won't be a looker, but I'm sure that the compression isn't doing the game any favors. InXile should release screens as pngs.

I'm yet to see a screenshot of the game that looks "good", either too much bloom, or depth of field or the color pallet is boring or the UI is horrible, it's always something that just stands out as unaesthetic. But as MicoSelva so well puts it, this isn't a game for gfxfags...

Graphix are by far good enough.
Dialogs/quests on the other hand i'm not so sure.

I definitely agree with that, hopefully they'll let me disable this shit.

I think they got their colors wrong. Look at what the After Reset guys are doing with their desert color pallet.

Nicer no? Desert doesn't need to be orange, you can have some tastefully muted yellow and greens and still maintain that post-apocalyptic vibe.

^Yeah I realize that's very novel but TBH it looks like it could get old just as fast.

Give me contrast, not a different type of monotony.

Pyke will readily tell you that the type of environmental art he's making for Stasis wouldn't be suitable for a game like Wasteland 2.

Yeah, but i think that's all they have to show at the moment, a few props and the desert tileset, most cost effective to produce for their KS, which seems to be on way to a pretty spectacular failure. Pity.

Their area renders show some more promise tho, small rez mind you. Overall, i dig their style more than the cartoon look WL2 is going for.

Pyke and the RAGE designers know how to contrast orange with blue:

Rage_Scenery.jpg

And that's tastefully done, without getting a shitty hollywood-like super-contrast:

To be fair, the first video had amazing indoor looks:
Green > Orange.

Well, I see it like this: We have at least two pretty distinct types of environment.
It's a desert setting, so of course there will be orange and brown, but it's not limited to that.

Sure, the gfx don't have much of a wow-effect. But given the budget and the scope of the game, I don't think they need to. They are good enough, that's the important part - if gameplay is good, what do I care about slightly outdated graphics?
