The Director's Cut will include new weapons and armour and the possibility to switch on/off the visuals and be able to see characters in their actual equipped armour?
I remember a lack of diversity in backpacks also.
I don't remember hearing about new weapons, but in any case all weapons received a major rebalancing.

We know that armor visuals are in - whether forced or optional, I'm not actually sure. It's possible it might be forced, but I doubt it as this would do away with the gorillas suits and Amigos costumes. So I believe it will be optional as you suggest.

Yeah, there were like 6 backpacks in the original version. I can't imagine that they wouldn't make a bunch more for the DC.

I used the wiki to break down the encounters per Ag Center map.

First map: 3 encounters, 2 are optional.
Second: 2, both are optional.
Third: 5, all optional, but if you want to make the cure, one isn't
western field: 1 and it's optional
eastern field: 10, 6 are optional pointless maggot and fly encounters.

Aside from the last map, those are all reasonable, and if you're playing as someone who wants to avoid as much combat as possible, you can complete the area by only engaging in five battles (the one at the entrance, the rabbits attacking the cows, the insects in the pump area, the boss from the same, and the pod people ambush). Fillerphobes are quite irrational.

And unlike PoE, in WL2 the 'trash' mobs actually make you spend resources, so they have a goddamn purpose.

oo no this means the energy weapons system will be altered?
i found the system kind reasonable and it gave energy weapons a reason to use them, but considering all the retards crying that they got raped in canifornia i strongly suspect they will change it.

Have they added in armor yet?

Excellent, that really annoyed me about the original game. I'd only hope they decided to put power armor etc in appropriate locations, rather than just being a boring vendor acquired item.

The numbers will be heavily tweaked but the basic system will be the same (EW will be more effective against the heaviest armor). They didn't change it to appease the people who didn't like this concept.

Also I believe that encounter design was tweaked as well, so you won't just strip naked for the endgame and be good to go. Conventional weapons will still be out there.

I don't even remember Wasteland 2 having power armour.
No wonder if equipping it you can still look like wearing thongs and fishnet stockings.

Unlike crappy PoE design, WL2 has kill XP so no encounters are optional :D
That is not a plus for XP junkies who force themselves to play through content they don't enjoy.

And unlike PoE, in WL2 the 'trash' mobs actually make you spend resources, so they have a goddamn purpose.
Tell that to my 30+ health packs.

I've also had no issues with ammo and I doubt I ever will.

try not to savescum :)

There are acceptable levels of damage I'm willing to take, and of course I use Rose as an indicator for when to level up so I get my free refill just before I gain a second level. I'm aware ranger difficulty removes the free refills, howeverrrrrr I'm not going to go through the trouble of raising the difficulty up just for leveling up and then having to turn it back down. Even if I did that, that would mean I'd have 20+ healthpacks now instead of 30+ (well, it's 40+ now that I've completed destroyed Highpool).

Why are you not playing on Ranger difficulty? Anything below that is for scrubs

All the numbers were tuned for seasoned. Ranger gives you a 33% cut to your damage, i.e. the damage numbers shown to you through the UI are a lie.

If there was a mod that only increased enemy damage, I'd use that, but alas, there is not. I'm not interested in fighting sponges.

I do agree with ArchAngel that the game is better played in Ranger difficulty. It feels more balanced and challenging that way. I never cared to see the changes "under the hood" though so Roguey might be right...but still

Fuck me, you cunts are what makes me cringe at the RPG discussion now. Even the worst shitposters gave a six paragraph argument explaining why you're an idiot, this just fills up the megathread with useless unrelated bullshit. Which, yes, I do realise that's exactly what I'm doing now, however, I feel my post quality reputation can take this hit as long as my general message of: "Please shut the fuck up about your dumb fucking labels and actually discuss Wasteland 2".

What if there are people that are being diagnosed by the codexian psycologists department as being possibly retarded?
I thought that was the reason anyone came to the Codex...the free psychological analysis & profiling
