I missed the part where the threat of nuclear war and the loss of human life didn't exist in real life.
I does not matter in a imaginary story. In real life people make decisions based on very little real information. And you can never justify murder for those.

So has this game sold any copies on consoles?

There are about a dozen users on the inXile forums who own a console port. I think it's pretty safe to say that each port has sold at least a couple hundred units by now.

Could not resist and finally played this game for the first time (i won't get far though as i'm still looking for the "final" version).
The game is way above my expectation and i find it awesome.
The quest design and especially the writing is very good, no info dump despite the"lot" of text, everything is interesting (unlike PoE who bores me greatly) to read so far.
Combat is enjoyable and i even like the graphics.
Only con is the annoying camera.

They got the old school vibe perfectly IMHO, I'm really into it.
Too soon to tell if W2 will became a classic for me as i'm really just at the beginning but could very be.
Very impressed, gratz sea and Brother None.
Agree, this is my type of game; areas with story to explore; factions and turn based combat. Only at AG center but really liking it

Here's the UK all formats chart for the week of Oct 12th:

Make a guess how many weekly copies Witcher 3 is selling on consoles these days, round it down aggressively, and you'll have a fair approximation of WL2: DC's console sales numbers for launch week. I'm guessing 9k overall.

For comparison with other new RPGs: Tales of Zestiria launched in 8th place, and Disgaea 5 in 27th.

I love how everybody in the debate about AG versus HP, forgets that there is a plenty of water on the Wasteland. Water shortage doesn't seems like a problem:M

One can only hope that WL2 will utterly fail on consoles and it will at least somewhat deter inXile from consolising TToN. If anything, the DC is a proof that what is convenient for consoletards will always trump what is sensible for PC gaming in any multiplatform project no mater how "indie" and "hardcore" the developers claim to be. A good PC game is a PC exclusive game. Period.

Please, the way a PS4 or an Xbox One functions is now very close to your standard PC, so porting to those consoles means a potential for extra easy profit. Sure, there have been ui scaling issues but the main game itself is still there as it was on the PC.

I just love the new barter screen and waiting for the patch fixing the new bugs. Director's Cut Console Edition indeed.

It's actually quite a shame that it's performing poorly. As ashamed as I am (or have to) admit it, I own the xbox one version (Purchased day one. I cannot stand pc gaming in my older age for some reason)...and...the console version handles really fucking well and still feels like a classic rpg that I can sit back with and not hunch over a keyboard. I know I'm in the minority here, but I really hope inXile sees some later success with this title as any chance at future ported titles is better for their overall health. I will also be picking up Divinity OS EE as well to continue promoting those who are taking the chance on an old school resurgence. Fuck format. As long as it's decently made and doesn't treat me like a fucking idiot, I'm a happy gamer.

That's not to condone the dumbing down of the original pc version...I will deal with the obtuse controller inputs. Just make the damn thing good and even remotely playable. Honestly, DC should have been recalibrated for the PC version, it seems. Changing the UI to be console-like was unnecessary and insulting. They obviously have the capability to treat them like separate entities.

But really...Any feeling of animosity toward inXile or Larian is misplaced. They are obviously fucking trying here and not working against their fan base. Some of us console gamers want these games too. I thank them and applaud them for their work.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Are the changes enough for a new playthrough? The perks or quirks seem like shit to me. I thought Wasteland 2 was decent enough, but I never have felt the urge to replay it now or ever.

I have read that shotguns are worthless in DC, but I actually had one shotty guy and Scotchmo in my team in the vanilla version.

The only part of the UI that's noticeably worse than before is the barter interface. OTOH the right-click context menu is pretty convenient. The rest is either the same or just different, but not noticeably consolized, imo.

Then don't. Story and quests are still the same. Changes are more about details and small improvements. Quirks and perks are a nice addition to the character system, and the called shots improve combat.
But overall it's probably nothing that warrants a second playthrough if you don't feel like it.

Some of the quests have had changed/added dialogue and changed objectives, there is also a few NEW quests, as far as I have seen (there one in Highpool)

Also, the new VO add abit of flavor to the quests and story overall, if that's your thing.

I noticed that will new right click interface "normal" players still fail at the game. I watched CohhCarnage play it on stream and he never figured out you can use Surgeon on wounded people around. And he played all Fallout games (and enjoys them all) but spends most time playing AAA games (all kinds).

Can I leave the AG center to reload and buy med packs? If I do will it collapse? Im out of med packs and can't find any there.

When I tried, Rose leaves and Lawson says they won't survive if we leave.

Not sure about it, but you might probably lose them.
You can however unlock a free healer in Ag Center if you make it to the eastern fields and save the guy there.
Also, shouldn't Forrestal carry a few packs?

Hmm, will look for guy in the eastern fields. I can't find forrestal as he and Kathy are now gone. I assume they went into Matts office which is locked. Didn't pick a lock picker as I was hoping to find scotchmo for that.

Both should be in Rose's lab, which is open by default, and wait for you to deliver the stuff they need for the cure.

So I finally bought this yesterday after waiting for the DC. Holy shit this has to be one of the most poorly optimized games I have ever played. Takes about 4 minutes to boot up from launch, I've had 4 CTDs in the 2 hours I've been playing, and the game's fps oscillates wildly between 45 and 2 FPS with apparently no regard as to what's going on.
And before the edgelords tell me that I should try playing it on something besides a broken toaster, sure my comp is not a $2k desktop gaming rig, but it's a decently powerful machine. Haven't had problems with any Unreal or other Unity games on max settings, but with WL2 the game is barely playable on the lowest settings (btw, the game's auto-detect set it to highest settings initially). Good fucking job InXile.
Sigh. Just feeling very discouraged. I believe in voting with my wallet, and wanted to give InXile my full $40 since I would like to live in a world where there are more games like (from what I've seen of it so far) Wasteland 2, but I'd also like to actually be able to play them when I pay for them.
Honestly can't believe they apparently prioritized a console release over proper optimization. Shame on you InXile, you're making me embarrassed and nervous that I dropped $150 into the T:ToN kickstarter.
Guess I'll just hope for a few patches to get it into a working state, but this being a "DC" I'm not feeling particularly sanguine about post-release support.

Edit: Just waited another 5 minutes for it to boot and played for literally 30 seconds before getting another CTD. Fuck it. I'm done. Refund time.

Double Edit: See below; problem is resolved and was (probably) not InXile's fault.
