I remember somewhere near the end of the second half, one of my quicksave slots bugged out so I only had two instead of three (still better than one). :M

Actually, I realized later that he might be complaining about the bronzeman combat. You can't quicksave mid-battle, Lucas9; that's a deliberate design decision.

Nono, I actually meant normal quick saving. My keys weren't mapped that way for some reason, maybe I changed them and I don't remember. Luckily I remapped them so quicksaving with F5 is now good. :incline:

I recall from my play through that quick save stopped working at some point. Solution was to delete older save files (not just quicksaves).

Yeah, actually I noticed saves got weird as my number of save files increased as well. Best to just cycle through a small number of hardsaves instead of making hundreds of new ones.

I forgot how addictive this stupid game was.

I lost two of my comrades to the gatekeepers at Seal Beach, fucking robots instantly killed both of them with one hit (how, I still don't know). I met Dugan and I backtracked all the way back to Santa Fe Springs to pick up fodder for the robots: that cybernetic guy and that heavy metal dude.

Well, turns out I was fairly close to finishing the game back when I first left it.

I was right there in the Bastion of God's Militia, and all I really needed to do was 1) Kill everyone, 2) Retrieve Zeolite from the place, 3) Upgrade Radsuits, 4) Go to Seal Beach.

And I just murdered Dugan and I'm about to leave for Arizona again, meaning I'm less than 3 hours (2 hours, most likely) away from finishing this game. Pretty good, considering I never expected to make it past the first hour of gameplay.

Yeah, you know what, FUCK this game. I'm playing on the second difficulty level, and these robots are killing my 4-men squad left and right. It takes only two shots for them to bring them down, and once Bear falls Takayuki starts doing stupid shit like walking straight into the enemy instead of using his goddamn RPG.

I'm starting to think this is some metacommentary from Fargo about how an AI-ruled future would be shit.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Hahaha yeah there's an intense difficulty spike around there..
Try to play around with armors - use whatever is better vs energy weapons.
Also any character with high Computer skill can Hack any robot and therefore take it to your side. That helps immensely

I prepared better myself for this fight now, we'll see what happens.

But I basically:

- Gave 3 of my characters an RPG instead of just Takayuki, as well as a grenade.
- Distributed health items much better taking into account whether they could use them or not.
- Bought Jericho a better gun, as apparently I forgot to upgrade him.
- Gave almost everyone the Pseudo Chitin Armor. Only Takayuki had it. I thought with lower Strength you couldn't use it at all, but apparently it just slows you down. Maybe it's a good tradeoff.
- And I will have most of my characters take cover will Coldeye snipes the robots.

Things went much better this time. So much that I finally beat this game.

Giving them RPGs was a great idea. Coldeye died too quickly, sadly. If I had left him under cover like I did with the rest of my Rangers he would have survived. Jericho healed everyone in his vicinity (mainly Bear, my assaut rifle female, and Takayuki) while everyone else dealt damage to the robots. Whenever two or more robots got together, I would order them to use their RPGs. Bear unloaded one on two robots, and Takayuki used one of his RPGs the same way, while using a second one against THREE, bringing down their health to the point I was easily able to one shot them with Bear.

Vargas died and I ended up dying too after winning the battle due to the time limit. I reloaded and started moving my ass instead of listening to Matthias/Cochise talk endlessly. Luckily Coldeye still had his RPG on him so we could blow open the doors to the chopper. And Jericho, my Buddhist character, sacrificed himself for the rest of the squad by detonating the nuke.

Good bye, Wasteland 2. :salute:

My squad:

- Jericho

latest

- Bear

latest

- Coldeye

latest

- Takayuki

I started doing one in February, then I put it on hiatus. Maybe I just should stop fucking around and complete it? Yeah, should try it.

They aren't different enough to bother IMO unless you just want to put out another WL2 review in general.

Thanks to Uunderrail I got back into the mood for PA turnbased RPGs so I actually am playing this again. It is the first time I've tried the DC. I love the additions of feats, I don't even bother with called shots, and did they REALLY have tio go make the store screen worse? Otherwise, same old game, same awesomesauce.

I don't know why people since assault rifles are better than others. Sniper is clearly best. My sniper does majority of my damage. My assault rifler does worstest damage.

Yeah early in the game its pretty much as you describe it, but in endgame AR pulls ahead slightly. Pistols, smgs and melee also doesnt do that bad actually, the only weapon i was really dissapointed about was energy weapons as they dont provide enough advantage in the situations they are useful in to compensate their inferiority in like 80% of all combat.

Called shots will be used more often by you as the game progresses and your to hit rate goes up.
