Is there any potential issue with picking up my save where I left off from the beta (I was in Ag Centre when I stopped playing)? It seems to be working so far but is it possible it'll just fuck up later on?

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. A million dollars, accounting for Valve's 30% cut, is over 35,000 copies. There's still much more money to be made!

Oh yes. There have already been reports of gamebreaking problems with old saves. You've been warned.

Must be quite a relief to get to this point if he put over a million of his own money into the game (not sure how much he put in but gathered it was substantial)

The dialogue and general writing (logbook, world details etc) are so much better than Divinity: Original Sin, but it isn't surprising really considering the writers that Wasteland 2 had. I just don't know why all the people splurging over D:OS on here don't make a bigger deal over it.

I'm really enjoying Wasteland 2 although I did make some bad decisions in char gen, so I've already restarted once after reaching Highpool. I'm now on my second run through, made a better party, and I'm off to Ag Center first instead.

Do you REALLY need to add your every inane one liner thought to the thread the very second you think it?

Well, those big post numbers won't write themselfs, you know:P*

I wrote this post, the very second I thought about it
I knew something like that would come, didn't you?

Game is pretty solid and the hardest difficulty is actually challenging as opposed to "modern" RPGs. Even the shit 3d engine stopped being too much of a problem once I started using keyboard shortcuts effectively.

There is one thing that pissed me off though and that is the exploding pods in Ag Center. The cunt scientist explicitly says you should be able to disarm the pods with the right skills instead of just shooting them, but I never managed to figure out how. Now, if I'm just too stupid to figure it out then no problem, but if that is a line of dialogue left over from before they decided to axe the move silently skill, then it's a pretty dick move. Any one have info on this ?

Quarex reports on the Wasteland 2 party from last night: http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...erid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=17#post435161912

Oh and I met one of the guys RPGCodex sent on behalf of their forum's $10,000 donation, and he was pretty cool. I will link to his write-up (as he was doing INTERVIEWS!) if I actually ever find it, haha.

Was he... normal? Isn't RPGCodex that website that is wall to wall "I sure do love RPG's, also here's 500 words on why I hate black people."

Yes, actually, pretty normal. It was kind of funny, programmer-Ben whose table I was at heard "RPGCodex" and instantly was like "do you guys still hate everything all the time?" And RPGCodex guy laughed and said there were a few people who still did but they try to marginalize them.

HI EVERYBODY WOOOOOOOO HELL YES THREAD

I know only maybe ~10% of you care about me going to the Wasteland 2 Release Party(tm), so I will just post some of my favorite of the few pictures I took and that will be the end of it, unless you really need to know how awesome Mark Morgan is in person (answer: every person I met at the party was awesome so he was no exception)

THE PARTY! Dude, check out the cotton candy.

Mark Morgan! Yay! Chris Keenan! Yay!

I spent part of the night being entertained by people hitting on my friend/date Tami. Particularly when someone would ask what she did and she would explain she was a chemical engineer and they would be like "oh, uhhh ... you must be smart!"

This is John; I told him I had to get a picture with him because nobody's face calls to mind the hilarious Kickstarter pitch video better for me than him (well maybe the 10-year-old publisher but he was not there). Then John won the mechanical bull competition because apparently he is the company's resident badass also. And I will never take a better picture of someone riding a mechanical bull.

I have a non-blurry picture with Chris Avellone but he is not giving a thumbs-up there so why would I post that one?!?!

A few people upon learning who I was told me that they were excited to meet me(!?), because they had seen how I put my 100% complete faith in this game from the get-go and tried to push it literally every way I could think to do. So that was pretty awesome. Particularly as I did not even know who a couple of those people were.

Chris Keenan literally said he was "a little bit star-struck" to actually meet me after all this nonsense, which was equally awesome and obviously totally unexpected. Oh and Chris Avellone and I are best friends now.

The cotton candy was very good.

One of the programmers (Ben) told me his favorite complaint so far has been that it is completely unacceptable that there is a way to end the game by pushing a button and that this must be fixed.

Oh and I met one of the guys RPGCodex sent on behalf of their forum's $10,000 donation, and he was pretty cool. I will link to his write-up (as he was doing INTERVIEWS!) if I actually ever find it, haha.

OH AND some of the designer/programmers I was talking to were skeptical when I told them Brian Fargo had told me that he personally designed me and put me in the game, but Chris Keenan confirmed that he saw the early documents and it was indeed all Mr. Fargo's doing. That was pretty cool.

OK thanks! ONE POST-APOCALYPSE LOVE

So who did the Codex send to socialize?

Heh, you'll find out soon enough (or you can try to do some detective work and figure it out for yourself).

Let's just say they're probably more normal than many people at Something Awful.

So that's what happened to Excidium... he was "marginalized"...

Just finished Ag Center. It was allrigth, but 2 things annoyed me to no end:
1) Pod persons, i understand that their "explode upon death" ability was meant to be the challange, but I hate these kind of self destructing enemies in every game. Especially if their tactic is to swarm you, and there are a lot of them
2) Rose, the joining NPC always went rogue and I couldn't control her, because my leadership rating is not high enough yet. Thus, she always run up to the pod people, and almost killed the whole party in several battles.

Off to Highpool now.

The funny thing about this "Codex hates everything & is racist" thing is that arguably the biggest responsible for this reputation is now a "turbo-feminist" that hates us and acts like the Codex was great in his days but decayed into madness after he left...

Rex said that the Codex was always a pit of shit but that's "in the past" for him and he doesn't feel proud of the most problematic things he used to say (read: FLIPPITY-FLOP)

Don't worry, apparently the Codex is now trying to marginalize those icky haters. We'll soon be a positive safe space for everyone. :) :) :)
