I finally bought the Legacy of Kain series on GOG. I think I'm gonna dive right in.

So, I started with the very first game, Blood Omen 1, which was unfortunately not on GOG, so I had to download it from the bay. It looked good at first, but I have given up at the middle. It has such cumbersome control, shitty uncomfortable UI, awful hit detection (being basicly a hack and slash, this is a big problem) and that fucking consolised saving system that you can only save at certain spots. Yeah, great if you die after a long segment of play and have to restart the last 30-40 minutes.

After a while I didn't enjoy the game, so I uninstalled. Such a pitty, it has very interesting story (watched it on youtube) and great soundtrack. If this was a PC only game, instead of a PS1 port, it could have been better.

Thanks for reminding me - I definitely need to give Blood Omen another shot. I haven't played it in years and I don't recall how bad the actual gameplay was, but I do remember it absolutely dripping with atmosphere.

I played a demo of this game long time ago and was trying to remember the name of it for years after. Finally found it a few days ago.

I made some screenshots. Although ME3 doesn't want to take screenshots in cutscenes so they were really shitty. But IMGUR is being shitty so.

Tried Citadel DLC. Wow what a total disconnect. I liked the Grunt talk I guess but you know, everyone is dying and I'm supposed to relax in a stupid apartment and laugh? Ehm. Yeah no? And they threw in a casino and an arcade. OH WOW YOU SHOULDNT HAVE. YOU ARE RETARDED BIOWARE.

Well atleast it was challenging at points. Although in most cases that challenge came from shitty design. Like telling you to repeatedly go to the EXTRACTION ZONE LIKE NAO SHEPARD. W-where is the extraction zone again? And Wrex dying repeatedly. Um. Wrex has like 1600 hp, five times as much as Liara and he's down more often than she is. What's up with that. And why Wrex? It doesn't make any fucking sense. He sat out two games because apparently a merc had a secret life as a chief, SO NO I DON'T WANT A FROG IN MY PARTY AGAIN. I thought I could get Zaeed and Kasumi and Jack etc in my clone battle - but fuck that, that would have actually been fun. Instead they're left for arena battles. Boring.

All throughout the DLC I was waiting to get the outfit clone Shepard has because it looks fucking sweet. But instead all I get is Cerberus outfits worn by Kai Leng and Phantoms if I beat the arena. 3 outfits with different stats but the same look. DUDE. FUCK CERBERUS AND FUCK THE OUTFITS. I WANT THE CAMO OUTFIT.

And I thought Kai Lengs infinite cutscene invulnerability was retarded. Then I got to the final clone fight. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

I also installed MEHEM, and it seems promising. Haven't gotten to ending this time around yet. Essentially all it does is delete say fuck you to the starchild and makes the ending oh, infinitely better. Can't fuck with lead writer's retarded shit BioWare? Even when everyone says it's fucking retarded as fuck? Does Mac Walters really have that accommodating an asshole?

So after my shameful failure in Blood Omen 1, I started the sequel, Soul Reaver 1. I'm only at the beginning, but holy shit, this has even better atmosphere than its predecessor. And that music... And that intro.

Basicly you are a lieutenant of the vampire Kain (the protagonis of the first game), and you evolve (get bone wings) earlier than you master. Kain ripps down your wings in his jealusy, and throws you into the abbys where you are tormented for a thousand years. Pretty good reason for vengance. :D

Thankfully the gameplay seems better and the controls look OK.

However, here's a piece of legit advice: just remember not to play Defiance once you finish Soul Reaver 2. I mean it. You are better off watching all its cinematics on youtube. I refused to listen to people who told me the same thing and I regretted that pretty much all the time I played.

Yeah I regret it a little that I didn't man up and finish it, but my patience ran dry in the middle. I would continue now, but I deleted my saves and I can't bother starting it from the beginning, and I've already watched it on youtube.

Just finished my first playthrough of Bloodlines as a Malkavian. Excellent stuff - even the combat-heavy portions later on didn't bother me so much since I maxed out Obfuscate early on, except that Hotel Hallowbrook mission - fuck that noise. I have mixed feelings about Arcanum and TOEE bores me to death, but this game was p gud. Pretty satisfying ending siding with the anarchs, even though the rest of the game after Hollywood was kinda shit. I cut it some slack since I'm a huge FPP/vampirefag.

Yeah you should have listened to me. The only highlight i can think off is some bossfights, particulary Kain vs Raziel showdown. I hated the fact that they recycled the OST of previous games, but maybe it was for the best, considering they totally raped the spectral realm atmosphere by adding some crying repetitive voices and ditching this kind of soundtrack : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOPKYv1auFQ&list=PLECD66691B2F17260

Yeah, that intro I could watch by itself, over and over. Better storytelling in that clip alone than the most of the story focused games the media like to dick ride these days.

Anyway, tried to see if I wanted to finish Divine Cybermancy, but I just couldn't take the respawning enemies anymore. For some people the respawning might not be an issue, and they may even think it a good idea to keep you on your toe and managing your resources, but the game doesn't offer enough interest in other areas to put up with it anymore. I can get a similar, superior experience replaying Deus Ex or STALKER. There are a lot of skills and stats and whatnot, and I like that, but the level and scenario design doesn't make good use of them.

On the bright side, Hexen. Fookin' metal as it's always been. Raven was on some rarefied air shit back in the day.
