Playing Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls demo on PS3. It's quite big, played for a few hours and it's still going (Minecraft only lets you play for one hour in a restricted tutorial area). It doesn't require always online connection because there is no piracy on consoles (lol). Playing as the barbarian is lots of fun since everything flies and/or explodes in a shower of blood.

Best part about it though is that the "smuggler" merchant is dubbed by the guy who does Don Ramón's Seu Madruga's voice in Portuguese.

Got some nice wares here, think you'll like them...but don't tell anyone who you got them from, alright?

First play-through of Icewind Dale (and its expansion HoW) finished. Bravo, Black Isle. Bravo!

Since I'm still on a D&D kick, I meant to play ToEE (with Co8) next but, Crispy forgive me, I just couldn't get into the game.
Maybe it's the setting (I prefer Forgotten Realms) or the hella-ridiculous radial menus or the shitty ass voice acting but I'm putting
it on the backburner for now and replacing it with....

Pool of Radiance
HOLY FUCK (You don't know/remember how much you cherish mouse support until you lose it)!

You complain about the radial menu but decided POR would have a better menu system? LOL Well that makes no sense.

I am pretty sure he is playing the first pool of radiance because the later one would need mouse support to navigate those radial menus you pointed out.

Friday Night At Freddy's 2 just released, when I thought it was still only in early development. Liked the first one so much I bought it anyway though. Getting ready for a night of being killed by freshly waxed animatronics and their old, rusted and buggy counterparts.

Addendum: Fucking creepy puppet.

Friday Night At Freddy's 2 just released,

Addendum: Fucking creepy puppet.

A few tips to "ease" your worries:

# Keep the music box going at ALL TIMES. If it stops playing, and you hear "Pop goes the weasel"...then you're the weasel.

# Balloon Bob doesn't kill you, but he makes it easier for the others to kill you by disabling your lights.

# The flashlight seems to stun most of them, but not all.

# Old Bonnie is the scariest fucking thing ever. (No, I have no idea how to deal with it.)

Finished Post Mortem, i really enjoyed it (second time playing) and this time in full french language. Great atmosphere, but a few puzzles are unsolvable without a walkthrough for me at least.
Started Still Life, second playthrough.

Diablo 2: Eastern Sun mod.
Fucking hell, some cool mod and it crash like a bitch.
Found threads with that error only to see "do you installed it properly", "use launcher.exe not game.exe", "reinstall all over again" and similiar basic stuff that doesn't help. Rest is "but it work for me!". Duh.

Installation is confusing. It constalntly say "IT'S 1.10 MOD MATE" only to not working on 1.10 patch. Then patch 1.12 make the game to actually run. Until it crash again.

Get D2SE. It's a mod manager that will let you load up whatever version of the game you want, with whichever mod you want. Very handy.

Thanks, I will try it.
It seems that it crash cause there's no itemratio.txt where it supposed to be (found it in installation files). Managed to finish 1st quest in Act1, which was impossible before so it's progress.

Finished SRR Dragonfall, so I moved to the Director's Cut now. It's better in every way. The combat mechanics are way better, and you realize that right away. The first confrontation with the ork cyborg shows that.

By the way, I found the final fight against him (in the dragon's prison) to be very banal. He came along as another mook and died like one Was expecting something harder or more dramatic, but meh.

Also, I gave control of the facility to APEX, even though I promised the dragon I'd free her. Still accepted Lofwyr's offer, though.

SRR is my candidate for GotY. :incline:

And, thanks to a fellow codexer, I'm playing The Whispered World. It feels very Daedalic right from the start, which is good for me. I don't mind beta characters like Sadwick, but his voice kinda irritates me.

Finished Tiny and Big: Gradpa's leftovers over the weekend. It is one of these 3D indie physic-based puzzle platformers (like Papo & Yo), although even more artsy than most. It has licensed indie music made by bands I have never heard of, weird indie comic book aesthetics and a WACKY story - you are in a ancient desert temple fighting against your brother, who stole magical-powers giving pants, which are the only memento you have from your late grandfather. No, seriously, that is the plot.

The gimmick here is you have tools that interact with the environment, so you can cut up parts of the level with a laser and then drag them towards you with a grappling hook & line or move them away with an attachable rocket, meaning the solutions to many puzzles are pretty open, although not as much as they could have been.

It is around 2-3 hours in length (depending on how much you such) and turns out to be a 'first episode' at the end (I guess that is a spoiler...?). I would classify it as a hamburger game - I enjoyed it while it lasted, but if I never played it, I would not feel like I was missing out and I do not expect to feel the urge to come back to it and/or play the sequel (if it appears).

Finished Suikoden3 after two play throughs. But fuck the canon route, Hugo because I want to play another game goddamnit.

Getting into Ring of Red. It's a pretty fun mecha game.
Preview analysis:

-Pro: real mecha. Giant machine stalks the earth. Shooting cannon, machinegun, etc.. with infantry escorts. soldiers with distinctive skills point and stat bonus. Political reimagining, kinda like Fallout series. Because it's in a warzone so the feeling is pretty desolate, like a post apocalypse. Collect soldiers because they are the real loots of this game. My real fun is get a 4leg mecha to snipe enemies along with two ground troops fire offHoming missiles.

-Con: My shitty PC can barely emulate it. Triple speed hack, then turn off the sound. Also, i dont mind the political rambles, but i can see how that can turn off many potential players. Damn things are too close to real history, so it might strike people in the raw nerves. Korean war in the form of jap war.
I think this turned off the CHinese and Korean players. Without the word of mouths from those big segments of audience, it just fall short of radar.

Currently at stage 5.

Hi-res patch for Fallout 2 works like a charm. Made a Fast Shot Character with Big Guns in mind.
Got through the boring sections in Fallout 2 starts and finally reached New Reno at level 6.
What struck me about New Reno is how 'easy' it was to being a made man.
Salvatore's quest chain in particular involved just one skill check to open a locked door.
The rest are just talk, talk, and talk. Pay up. And... done.
You're a made man. Go talk to the Gun store owner for Special Stock.
Acquired Bozar for more than 10k caps worth of trade (easy, considering there wasn't really anything worthwhile to buy. And digging all the graves in Golgotha nets you 2 SMGs, Metal Armor and other goodies worth more than 4000 caps) , 200x FMJ Ammo. Walked back to the Den. Pop mentats and put on sunglasses, successfully inviting Vic into the party with Sulik already in tow, proving beyond all reasonable doubt that Vic is both gay and bald like Kem0sabe - then walked outside. Unload two bursts of 10mm SMG on one of the Metzger's goon's face. Killing him. Ran out of the zone. Came back, raised Bozar. Unload freely. More bursts of shots to kill all the slavers. Loot them all
The end.
Probably will whack Lara's gang at the church as well. EXP is EXP.
What the fuck RK47? That's too overkill. Are you paying back some kind of grudge?

After seeing videos and screenshots posted of Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender, I remember reading about this game back when it was released and figured I'd give it a go for an evening.

I kinda regret that now.

This is NOT a good adventure game. It's not a bad one either, it's just...meh. The beginning is the most interesting part where they're clearly going for a mix between Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry, but fail on both counts. For the game to compare to Sierra's classics it has to be funny, and the starting areas contain almost all of the decent humour in the game. Rex Nebular sorta keeps going at a decent pace until I reached Machopolis, the giant abandoned underground city. The game gets sooooo.....tedious....there. Want to use the car to move between the 9 locations? You're gonna have to watch those mini-cutscenes where the car scans you for gender then pulls up the city map EVERY TIME. And there is A LOT of zipping back and forth in that section of the game. I got stuck there and consulted a walkthrough, only to realize that there were two locations I was missing because they are hard to spot. That's when I just gave up and watched the rest on YouTube...and realized that I wasn't missing a thing.

The interface could be better (The game doesn't have a "USE" command on purpose, which is asking for trouble) and there is a lot of pixel-hunting in a low-res graphic environment. The puzzles didn't bother me EXCEPT for the reasons I just mentioned - trying to tell the game what I wanted to do was the biggest challenge.

Not recommended, not even for nostalgic reasons.

Plodding my way through lego lord of the rings which i picked up in a bundle, going for that open world thing but doesn't do it as well as the later games, the quest system is adding unnecessary drudgery to the playthrough, but its a pretty fun recreation of the movies (or the movies version of the books) and nice seeing somewhat familiar vistas done in that style.

Working for travellers tales in the lego dept must be one of the better jobs in game development, you've got a solid and optimized engine that runs on pretty much everything, you get to focus on gameplay, and you just power through licensed titles adding in a new twist/effect every other game to keep it interesting, probably as close to9-5 office work as you can get in the industry i reckon.

I've played two of the titles and I've seen plenty enough bugs to think that the job seems...not so good.

Finished Saints Row 2.

I didn't get around to playing it for a long time due to the horribly optimized port, but with the "Gentlemen of the Row" mod and "Powertools" it ran as well as SR3.

Glad I did.

Its a much, much better game then SR3, and flat out knocks GTA 4 face down into the dirt.
I didn't realize quite how badly GTA 4 lived up to the legacy of the first 3 games before.

Stilwater is what a "Next Gen" Liberty City should have looked like.
Colorful with memorable neighborhoods, instead of a drab brown and grey mess.

And don't even get me started on the Missions...

:salute::salute::salute:
to the Bros at Volition!

Edit:
Only thing I didn't much like was the soundtrack.
Commercial/News/Talky Stuff was fine, but most the actual music I didn't find very enjoyable.
The "Classical Music" station was much appreciated though, Rockstar hasn't put one in a game since GTA3.

Playing 'This War of Mine'.

It's damn good. Not the deepest game ever but I like how it's balanced and it feels bleak as it should. It definitely succeeds at what it tries to do.
