Picked up Giants on GoG after reading this - Thank's DR, not very far into it yet but it is indeed a blast so far. :salute:

I also didn't like the Kabuto part. After some initial romping and eating mooks, I just ran through all his levels right, to the last boss fight.

A really good game overall. Pity the sequel was never realesed.

Topic: I've FINALLY decided to give Conker - Bad Fur Day a go.

And.

And.

OMFG!

I've heard that this is one of the best games ever.

But!

This actually IS one of the best games ever.

Solving King Bee's Problem

And some people claim PST has good writing...

Right, now that I'm done with Giants for the 487569743768th time, I decided to give Armed and Dangerous a go because, somehow, I never actually got to play it.

And fuck, console decline at its finest. You can see quite clearly that this game was made for xbox first, pc second - horribly closed areas, repetitive levels, mindless run'n'gun action through corridors with only three guns max, retardedly low resolution during cutscenes, extremely shitty graphics in comparison to Giants. Only the humour is good, the rest is :decline: supreme.

I just got to around chapter 4 on ds2, and I'm growing bored of it for the reasons a lot of reviewers pointed out - everything is so pedestrian, so predictable. I can predict with alarming accuracy exactly which rooms are safe, which rooms will spawn monsters when I walk far enough, which bodies are dead and which are going to jump up as soon as I get close etc (good job using completely different models for dead bodies and necro ambushes, dumbfuck developers). It feels more like a straight shooter than a survival horror. The plot seems like utter shit, and I ended up googling the synopsis to confirm my suspicions. Will likely delete it soon and watch the boss fights on youtube.

I can't say you're wrong on any particular point. The game is just as predictable as the first in terms of telegraphing it's scares and monster spawns. Which is part of what makes it fun for me, strangely. I was one of those kids who used to go through Halloween haunted houses and laugh while I pointed out where all of the scares were going to come from, and how this trick or that illusion worked. That aspect of the game is more fun than frustrating for me, and so far it has me laughing my ass off.

I'm also a total whore when it comes to art direction, and the game is giving me plenty of really nice environments to look at. Even if I get bored with the story, I'll probably finish the game just so I can root around in the environments and see what's what. Like I said before: I'd prefer it weren't all smeared with blood, but the design in this series is really quite good (though I still think that their integrated UI is one of the dumbest fucking things imaginable). The port is better this time, too. The controls are less wonky, and the camera control is a lot finer.

Thanks for your concern and explaining me what's BG II is about. :)

Played Stalker Oblivion Lost today. I was in some kind of underground and suddenly screen started to shake and I heard shit-high-pitch sound that almost destroyed my brain (I was on headphones). I was low on med-packs and bandages. And I realized something was coming. Something very dangerous.
Later I discovered it was a Controller (who zombified couple of military guys xD - love it - that random stuff wasn't in vanilla). Call me sissy but srsly - almost shat my pants (of course it's the atmosphere - not jump because loud sound suddenly is played or monster attacking from behind). Only game that comes close in scarying me is Blair Witch: Rustin Parr. But Stalker SoC (with OL) is the best.

Nothing. My bro bought BlazBlue: CS today, but I somehow don't like BB that much anymore. Tried playing Hazama since he seemed like the only interesting character, but didn't like his fighting style at all, so that kinda drained all my will power to play that game. I also tried giving East India Company a go but the naval warfare is a bit rubbish. Oh well.

Finished Conker's Bad Fur Day yesterday.

Great game overall, maybe except the camera and fucking N64 being piece of shit (game locked on 20 FPS due to hardware limitations).

It's similar to Psychonauts, only made 4 years earlier, has better gameplay and doesn't have unnecessary gatherables.
Good platforming, great writing, EXTREME sense of humor, VERY diversified gameplay, etc.

Burning bats with flamethrower, grinding innocent people in the grinder, murdering innocent cavemen using a raptor, fighting a gigantic aria-singing monster made of poo, pwning zombies using a shotgun, raping killer robotic teddy bears dual-wielding uzis...
The list can go on and on...

And movie references are actually totally cool in this game...

People who liked Psychonauts should like this game as well. Plus the rom is only 60 mb. Project64 1.6 works fine.

Hmm, I wonder what the developers are doing after being bought by Microsoft?

Still playing Phoenix Wright series on No$GBA with No$Zoomer.

Parallelly playing Robin Hood The Legend Of Sherwood. It's cool Desperados clone, Desperados is still better imo. Robin Hood's moral faggotry, lack of insta-invisibility shadows, accent on mêlée combat, inane abilities management and completely useless abilities, filler ambush missions... Too much negativity flowing, now for something positive: it is Desperados clone.

I have The Witcher 2 and Fable 3 untouched.

I think I'll install the latter first.

No One Lives Forever: The Operative Game of the Year Edition

awesome!

3rd or 4th assignment in playing on super spy difficulty it is not yet impossible..on the contrary! very managable!

love the game..but cutscenes are loooooooooooooooooong

sneaking doesnt feel good but it works to thoughtfully dispose of enemies using silenced weapons.

cant remember anything from my first play through some years back

Are you playing the OC? because if yes, you deserve all the pain and sorrow. Just move on to the expansions already.

Yeah, that's what i'm going to do. :)

I always heard how the OC was awful but lately I saw some "it's not so bad" comments so I decided to give it a try. I feel like a masochist, never have I seen worse encounter design and writing in a RPG.

I had to quit NWN2 about halfway in because of the mundane combat. I hear the expansions are good, but I feel like I'm cheating them if I start without finishing the OC.

Between my brother and I playing on my steam account, we have logged about 72 hours of mount and blade warband over the past couple weeks. Shit is getting ridiculous.

Finally won Civilization 2 on Deity level (with 7 civilizations).

In my previous attempts, I kept wasting time and resources trying to be more technologically advanced than my enemies, which would never work on the long term.

So, this time, I built a huge fucking army right from the start. I didn't bother developing my cities, just made sure to have the Wonders I needed (such as Leonardo's Workshop, the Great Library and Michelangelo's Chapel). I had crushed the last enemy civilization by the middle of the 18th century.

Guess I should have seen my military advisor was the sensible one.

Should have played the xbox version bro.
Why?
Because it's heavily censored and totally inferior version (except graphics).
Or maybe because I would have to buy a fucking Xbawks to do this since a working emulator does not exist?

Better luck next time, bro.
