I just finished Kingdom Come: Deliverance after 100 hours. Excellent game and recommended for anyone wanting a thoroughly entertaining Medieval RPG. Its gets a 78/100 on the globally respected " BruceVC game rating system ". I made a detailed post on the official KC:D thread

Now what next, I am considering IWD2 and the original, not EE, version. I have already downloaded a few mods including ALMATERIA'S IWD2 FIXPACK
IWD2 has no EE, fortunately.
Play it. Really great 3E D&D video game adaptation.
Unfortunately it does have an EE version, some modders got permission from beamdog to name their shitass mod that.
Really?
Fuck that. I only play the originals, so it doesn't really matter, but the ones who will want to purchase the games now have to purchase the Enhanced Editions....

Still steadily moving through the Neverwinter Nights original campaign. Enjoying myself more now. I just finished the snowglobe world in chapter 3 so I'm not far from the end. Multi-classed my fighter into ranger, then maybe after I get my familiar I'll move into weapon master.

Can I keep this character for all the different campaigns?

You can, but you'll be massively overlevelled for SoU and HotU assumes you started a character in SoU and took it into HotU as I recall. Which is sort of weird because of the stuff from the OC that makes appearances in HotU, but whatever.

You may want to start a guy for the other two modules unless you're okay with steamrolling them.
I kept the same character for all 3 x NWN games as far I remember. It was a wizard as usual and I dont recall the expansions being unduly easy

I did it with a Cleric for all 3 expansions, great fun.
What deity?
Not sure, it's been almost 2 decades at this point? But my character was Neutral Good so something along those lines, I remember using as many companions as possible and throwing summons on top to overwhelm crap, and also in 3E the Cleric's BAB/AC was good enough to fight in melee before the days of Pathfinder min-maxing.

I'm using a mod to recruit all henchmen at once, so I'm steamrolling everything anyway. Someone in the mod comments said that the xp sharing would even it out a little but that doesn't really seem to be the case.

Although I may reroll to make a more optimal character.

There is a sale going on steam, picked up a few games including Project Warlock 1-2.

I probably would have enjoyed the first game if it didn't stutter so much.
The second game is still an early access but surprisingly better optimized than the first game. The only thing that sucks is the melee combat but the game is good so far.
Speaking of boomer/retro shooters
zUFxot2.png

I need to remind myself to try this one too.
Edit: just finished the first episode of Project Warlock 2. I would say the game overall somewhere between okay and good. Will wait until it leaves early access before playing it again.

Do it with a martial character. SoU is a sleepwalk and IIRC HotU starts off fairly easy, though it catches up part way through.

Im continuing with my Yakuza series playthrough, after Yakuza 0 I finished Yakuza Kiwami. I think its a decent game but you can see some issues in storytelling that can be attributed to it being the first game where devs are still "learning the ropes". The story introduces too many characters that are underutilized and doesnt spend enough time building up confrontations. I also am not a fan of child characters and this game didnt change my opinion on the matter. The writing itself felt much more uneven compared to the prequel, but It still worth playing if only to learn about the story of the series.

Finished Yes Your Grace which I bought at the current Steam sale. Paid for it 6,71 euros and cant really say that the game is worth more then that. Its ok game that is a bit too short and you probably wont get more then two playthroughs of it. I like the concept but there is way too little to do and too few options to make. It reminded me of the Long Live The Queen which is far more complex and interesting game.

Also played Thief: Deadly Shadows. I tried playing this game multiple times since it was released but I always dropped it very quickly since I couldnt stand the decline. This year I was so desperate for a Thief like game that I forced myself trough the superficial initial issues and gave the game a fair chance. After finishing it I can only say that my misgivings about this game were well founded and that this game is pretty bad. I dont know where the start, its a ugly game with ugly environments, small uninteresting levels, city map that is nothing more then a time consuming filler, disappointing last mission. Lots of bugs and engine quirks didnt help the experience, one time i drop from a 1 meter height and lose half health, then I fall from 5 meters and lose none. I touch a box and moved it for 1 millimeter yet guards 20 meters away react as if I dropped a bomb. I stopped counting how many times I reloaded due character animation glitching and me getting stuck in environment. Faction system is superficial and pointless like most things in this game. Guards in the city respawning is bad but its even worse when they join hands with rogue stone golems that just killed bunch of civilians to hunt me down. I could go on and on about every part of the game that pissed me off, worst of all is just how poorly made are the levels as they lack challenge and creativity. There are few exception like the Shalebridge Cradle that has a really good atmosphere, and atmosphere is pretty much only thing this game is good at. Just a bad, disappointing game that physically hurts me when I remember what became of this series.

Now starting Yakuza Kiwami 2 and playing a bit Tropico 6 and Warhammer 40K Gladius.

Eh, you are being too harsh.
I recommend this texture pack https://www.moddb.com/mods/the-coll...ck/downloads/deadly-shadows-texture-pack-v103 .
Pretty decent texture pack, it makes some stuff look more sharp.
I have yet to see a general bug fixing patch. When I last played Thief: Deadly Shadows, I never really encountered any bugs and had no problems.

None of that would fix the levels and the city which are underwhelming.

Finished Fable 2.

I generally don't enjoy boss fights, so I found the ending quite satisfying.

You literally just take your gun and one-shot the main villain while he's giving his speech. Or one of your companions will shoot him if you let him talk long enough.

Dunno what to play next, so I'll prob just spend some time tying up loose ends in Fable 2's post-game for a while.

It's not an amazing game, but similar to the first entry I find it's quite enjoyable as long as you go into it anticipating some mindless popamole shit. The first game is way better, though. If you like very dumb british humour (think Black Books meets Wallace and Grommit), which I do, that also helps.

I'll probably skip Fable 3 since even the people who consider Fable 1 and 2 to be top-tier RPGs seem to consider the third game to be massive decline.

What is happening in Jagged Alliance, today? Oh, nothing much. Just my character hitting my other character in the back of the head. A third character blowing up a bridge he was standing on. The usual shenanigans, that will have your co-dweller come into your gaming room, asking why you are laughing like a madman.

No, it's just a mod, you still have to apply it over the original IWD2. But I fully expect that since they are naming the mod "IWD2EE" that people will shortly treat it as such even though its massively fucking up game balance everywhere.

I'm playing Rise of the Reds, a mod for Command and Conquer: Generals. I'm loving it. All it has is skirmish and multiplayer, so I have to give myself a goal:

  • Beat Europe as the Taliban (done)
  • Beat China as Europe (done)
  • Beat America as China (working)
  • Beat Russia as America
  • Beat the Taliban as Russia
  • Build the hero in each match
So far I haven't figured out how to properly use heroes. Jarmen Kell and Black Lotus were pretty useless. Frank Jaeger and the VIking/Valkyrie Venom units were sick. Incredibly fun to play.

After I beat this challenge, i will stop playing on easy. I always sucked at rts, but I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere with this.

As the EEs did to the originals, especially IWD.

Not really, the EEs were still well balanced in most respects. The EE for IWD2 is doing insane retarded shit.

Gave Chronicon another try. Yeah, i just can't gent into the diablo-likes. Just can't.

Another game i gave a try is a Barony, a dungeon-crawler/Roguelike that visually looks like a minecraft mod and i wouldn't be surprised to learn if it started as such. Someone mentioned it here on the codex and it's surprisingly fun. Lot's of interesting systems to tinker with.
Edit: Unfortunately, i am very terrible at roguelikes.

Men, I'm being fickle yet again, something about spring I guess.

Last Spell: Nice mix up of tower city defence, tactical combat and rogue-like elements. Absolutely satisfying combat with hell of a soundtrack, especially if you are an old metal head like me.

Terraformers: Just.one.more.turn. Mars terraforming game, turn based, lite 4x game without any real enemy but Mars and time. Eventhough it had some absurd RNG as building it is quite addictive. Starts easy enough but gets really harder as you progress through scenarios.

Total War Warhammer 3: Love me fantasy, love me toy soldiers, this one is my number 1 guilty pleasure. Playing a Beastmen right now, pillaging, raiding and razing whole world, in the name of Dark Gods.

Space Wreck: Nice little RPG like Age of Decadence. Can be completed in 9-10 hours and have lots of replayability. A bit rough on production values but that never stopped me.

Hunt: Showdown: Playing this one with my ye'olde hommies. We are getting better but still mostly losing to outher players because of our mistakes. We are getting a lot of fun out of this one thanks to it's tense atmosphere and gameplay.

Finished Alien vs Predator 2000 Marine campaing
...
I need a smoke
and I'm not even smoking

final puzzle was doable with the power of bunny hopping, but the constant stream of xenos in second-to-last mission was quite a treat

Might give it a try to Predator campaign, of go somewhere else
