Arx Fatalis with "Arx Extended 2.3.4"? or at least that's what readme says, even though mod archive is marked as 2.3.5? There's quite a mess with recent releases of this project.

Was surprised how quickly shadow beast died in Level 8 - you just have to reach the press room, pick the key from the office nearby (and pull one level here), run behind the corner and somehow pull the lever while beast is on the movable plate that covers the lava.

Tried to test other offensive spells, sadly none of them compares to Fireball even when they consume more mana.

Crafting armors is only a curiosity - you can find/buy dwarven tools and with experimentation (or studying readme) create something that can be beat by anything found in the shop. Unless you really care about debuffs for casters/sneaky characters. New bow (+12 dmg, +9% crit) have a lot of potential - with decent investment you can avoid Ylsides even with single fireball in your memorized spell bar.

Only food and alchemy remains useful - all that raw rat&fish meat grinded for oil. You can get cheese sandwich, neat. Spend more time in the kitchen compared to forge.
Somehow iron rations (with spices) gives less satiety than loose bag of food, cooked or not....
Mana regen feels way slower. Must be tweaked by (anti)commie because you can starve twice (HP orb starts depleting its content) waiting for the blue ball to refill.
I've tried to not sell everything (you really, really have to work to NOT swim in gold in that game), but run out of containers and I don't trust game physics and collision system to drop them on the ground. Not sure if this is mod or vanilla, but you can save the game near dead enemy and it drops his weapon after quick load, if that weapon dropped under textures. Even get the message for that occasion.

Tried some pickpocketing - it's weird. Everyone starts screaming that they can see me rumaging in their pockets (even snake gals), but still give you like 1-2 seconds to snatch what you want, mostly keys. It's best to switch to small windowed mode to grab the item before NPC get mad.
Some items got "?" triangle icon looking like a rune or something, no idea what skill affects it, tried to raise some to 100+ but nothing changed. Trader in the undergrouns caves have two chests - when you open one and side step to other some items gain this "unidentified" icon for some reason. Not sure if city traders get one too.
And is it me or traders does not restock after awhile?

Still no Arx Insanity release, after one demo it went vapourware. Guess the Spain situation was bad enough to abandon the project...
Now time for a replay with "Second Life" mod...
What's the difference between Arx Extended and Libertas? Is Extended just an overhaul?

The Last Spell

The fighter didn't make it. His stun didn't connect and two suicide bombers got him. He bought just enough time to finish off the boss one turn before the two mages would've been one shot narrowly avoiding instant loss.

Took a couple stabs at the last map in Fire Emblem engage. Fun map, but I haven't figured it out yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Playing MP: Echoes as a palate cleanser. Torvus temple finished. That larvae boss was pretty fun... I had to take a second stab at him on account of running out of ammo.

I realized you can charge shot with no bullets. That's good design, but I still couldn't figure it out fast enough on the first try.

Hoping to finish this and FE before Advance Wars ships. Backlog can wait.

edit: nm AW is listed May 1st... plenty of time

Finished The Witcher II.

Cons:
  1. The combat is garbage. Rolling around everywhere and kiting enemies is like the most boring form of combat I can think of in an ACTION RPG.
  2. The Perk tree is such a bad idea, forcing you to develop your Witcher a certain way instead of giving you free reigns for upgrading.
  3. Looting is a massive pain in the ass. Unlike The Witcher, you can't hover your mouse over the container you want to loot, leading to infuriating "why the hell can't I loot this container" and "not THIS one, THAT one" situations. Ugh.
  4. Lengthy dialogue sequences before fights, which you have to repeat every time you die in certain sections.
  5. Something to be said about these dialogue scenes: usually combat takes a few seconds to begin after these scenes are over. But in certain cases, the camera slowly hovers towards Geralt as combat has already begun, meaning you get hit by enemies you cannot see because you don't even see yourself on the screen.
  6. Terrible user interface, who tf was in charge of it.
  7. Absurdly convoluted plot.
  8. So many items, armors, and weapons, you will never ever use.
Learn the lesson CDPR, less is more.
Then again, I've just tried out TW3 for a bit, and found the combat is even worse, apparently. This is what happens when console faggots complain The Witcher had "bad combat".

And that's the Enhanced Edition. The original TW2 had a one hit kill backstab that worked for you but also for your enemies. And it was relatively easy to trigger, so a random grunt could one shot you if you weren't careful enough.
I don't know how some people can pretend it's the best of the trilogy. The Yrden shit was obnoxious but the dragon fight is easily the worst shit I've seen in a long time and precisely because it demands a certain build to be done easily. Which I hadn't.
The divergent paths are massively overrated and they are even more overrated now that the fanfiction elven guy they created had absolutely no role to play in 3.

Playing Fable 2 on my gf's xbox.

I don't know how people outside of the codex generally consider this to be a classic RPG. Been playing over 10 hours and am yet to die in combat. You can easily level up almost every skill pretty early in the game. There's not even any armour in the game, only clothes which do nothing but give +attractiveness or +scariness.

It is a fun sort of fantasy life-sim game, though. Most of my enjoyment of the game comes from building my real estate empire and interacting with Albion's citizens.

Fable was never about combat, but the interactivity with the game's world. Like a newer version of Ultima, more or less. It's one of those games people in their 30s grew up with, so it's bound to be seen as a "classic" by them.

CDPR is shit at designing bosses but TW2's are ragequit inducing.
I almost delete the game after I lost the Kayran fight because I expected a cool cinematic and instead I got... a fucking QTE out of nowhere.

The final fight against Letho was a goddamn joke with how easy it was, but that's better than it being rage inducing I guess.

I mean, I'm 26, I grew up playing Fable, just to give some context. Still don't think it's worthy of "classic" status. Especially since most fans of the series seem to consider the second game to be the best entry when it is basically a stripped-down version of the first game (aside from maybe real-estate features).

I just finished Kingdom Come: Deliverance after 100 hours. Excellent game and recommended for anyone wanting a thoroughly entertaining Medieval RPG. Its gets a 78/100 on the globally respected " BruceVC game rating system ". I made a detailed post on the official KC:D thread

Now what next, I am considering IWD2 and the original, not EE, version. I have already downloaded a few mods including ALMATERIA'S IWD2 FIXPACK

Play on hard and switch to insane around chapter 3, unless you can handle insane from the start. This game has awesome combat when it's challenging and you want to get as much good from it as you can, because the bad is really bad.

IWD2 has no EE, fortunately.
Play it. Really great 3E D&D video game adaptation.

I control 30+ out of 60 territories in Jagged Alliance. Got the virus quest, so I got to deal with that. I can't even get mad at the game. I've had some missed shots that should be impossible to actually miss, giving me fits of desperate laughter, only to hit an enemy, with one of my worst marksman stat characters. You think you know what the game will throw your way, but there is a positive/negative surprise in almost every encounter.

In Solasta, I think that I collected all the gems for the crown. There was a messy fight that I had to redo, because I was focusing on the wrong target. My party is now level 11. HP bloat is real. I'm still having fun, and I will play the DLCs that I purchased. Probably some user content, too. But they need to rebalance HP values for a possible sequel.

In Octopath Traveler II, I'm going through all the second chapters for each characters. I'm also finally able to have sub jobs on more of my characters. Overall, a bit on the easy side, with some challenges sprinkled here and there. Game clock says 12 hours, but it feels like 6.

Unfortunately it does have an EE version, some modders got permission from beamdog to name their shitass mod that.

Still steadily moving through the Neverwinter Nights original campaign. Enjoying myself more now. I just finished the snowglobe world in chapter 3 so I'm not far from the end. Multi-classed my fighter into ranger, then maybe after I get my familiar I'll move into weapon master.

Can I keep this character for all the different campaigns?

You can, but you'll be massively overlevelled for SoU and HotU assumes you started a character in SoU and took it into HotU as I recall. Which is sort of weird because of the stuff from the OC that makes appearances in HotU, but whatever.

You may want to start a guy for the other two modules unless you're okay with steamrolling them.

You'd be overlevelled for SoU but by HoTU the game will catch up to you
