I wonder if there might be some time travel elements in the plot. In the trailer BJ says that the nazis are rewriting history, and that he's been "gone". So i speculate that the nazis have gotten their advanced tech from the future, and that BJ has gone through a time warp from 1945 and is still young and fit to fight nazis in the 60's.

This game is a sequel to Bioshlock Infinite.

Just noticed that there are actual nazi flags and symbols in the concept art, not some silly lookalikes as typical in video games. Is Bethesda going to take on the German censorship ministry?

All Wolfensteins had actual nazi symbolism in the English versions, while the German versions were horribly crippled parodies of the original.

Both RtCW and 2009's Wolfenstein replaced the nazis with... wait for it... The Wolf Sect in the German version, with all swastikas being replaced with the Wolfenstein symbol and the supernatural SS division didn't have actual SS ranks but ranks like Alphawolf and Betawolf.
Wolfenstein (the 2009 one) was banned in Germany anyway some weeks after the release because the censorship team forgot to remove one single swastika in the entire game.

When it comes to nazis, we have the most retarded censorship ever.

BONUS LULZ: The German version of Hearts of Iron 2 replaces the names of nazi leaders and removes their portraits. Adolf Hitler is Albert Hiller, Hermann Göring is Hermann Gorink, Heinrich Himmler is Heinrich Himmel. HEY GUESS WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO SUPPRESS NAZI IDEOLOGY? LET US REPLACE THE NAMES OF NAZI LEADERS WITH FANTASY NAMES IN A HISTORICAL STRATEGY GAME, BECAUSE IF WE DON'T EVERYONE WILL BECOME A NAZI HURR DURR DERP
Yeah, I remember Germans visiting Tesco in my potato town (near the border) to buy RtCW. When I asked them "why can't you buy this game in Germany" they replied "Because you kill nazis in it."

Pretty sure it isn't the Jews but the Germans themselves who are responsible for those laws.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
They want to make the Germans and Earth meek and multicultural to erode national identity
The jewish community has way, way more pull in :patriot:then in Germany and despite that you can not only display nazi symbols in a videogame but promote nazism outright in US.

And as for that whole multiculti trend, that's a whole different issue and I sincerely doubt Jews are behind it either :)

As people said already, Germans imposed those rules on themselves and only they're responsible how ridiculous they look in cases like this one.

The multicultural agenda is pushed in all western countries (especially England) by the media

And spoiler alert who runs that shit

Europe 50-60 years ago wouldn't allow all these muzzies to run wild

that uniform looks more Russian then German, no indication of rank on the neck or anything, just red. Artillery officer?

gamestar.DE
Maybe they just edited shit out or something? The uniform looks really underwhelming. You have to really try to make a SS uniform look shit.

If so, then most likely for illegal downloading.

Legally it is a bit muddy, I think.
The intent of the law is to prevent glorification of Nazi symbolism, for obvious reasons.
No matter what some idiots in this thread seem to think this has nothing to do with Jewish-controlled media, a multicultural agenda or our reptilian overlords.

There are a lot of freely available books, documentaries and movies showing Nazi symbols, talking about the Nazi head-honchos and even -gasp- telling their names!
Even in Germany, you wouldn't believe it!

The problem is a) it's not always completely clear what might cause problems and what not and b) games might be treated a bit different.
In order to prevent any possible issues, publishers sooner play it safe (even if it might mean going full retard) than risking their game getting banned in Germany.

Wasn't multiculturalism something invented by douchebag politicians after easy votes from muslims and other people that live in stone age but are too lazy to adapt? The germans should stop this butthurt nonsense, there were a serie of historical events that lead to the rise of Hitler and the allies are far from being saints in the process. The abomination that was the treaty of Versailles that the Kwans signed off and helped to fuck up the german economy (local politicians incompetence and dishonesty have to be counted too) so bad that the ocurrence of a second war was far from unpredictable.

Even during the 90's there were always some news about censoring game in Germany. The publishers still went with demandings of the comission attending to computer games (i.e. Carmageddon and zombies with green blood). It's counterproductive, since there are always blood patches on internet to unblock it in their versions. The profit is clean, and anybody who want's it, can make it look like any other version.

And the book/film industry has no burden of it, there is no need of this. Nobody asking to cut some pieces of film, why force something like this on games, that gives false sense of integrity?

at least all that paranoia was worth it, as evidenced by the fact that Germany doesn't control Europe

Oh yes, they do. They definitely do.

And the censored violence in games is a similar, but not really the same issue as with Nazi symbolism.

I understand that in principle publishers could sell much more uncensored games, but then you'd risk them to be available only to people above 18y and it would restrict advertisement as well.
I'm not completely sure about how far the responsible office can go. I think they could outright ban games that they deem to be glorifying violence (happens to movies as well), in that case you might be unable to get it (legally) even above 18y. It's stupid, admittedly.

OTOH, german authorities are much more open-minded about sexuality/nudity compared to e.g. the US.

Egads man! Don't you know that seeing viscera, dismemberment, gore and popping heads rendered in graphic detail is far less damaging than seeing a nipple.
