So played it for a "bit" (40/50 minutes)

Yuzu can't load it
Ryujinx works but it seems capped at 20/25fps, plus it doesn't seem to load shader files all that well
So I would say both emulators need some updates before this game can be run properly

Because this is a direct sequel to BotW, they have to deal with that plot baggage and as such you no longer take less than 1 minute before being "freed" into the gameworld
Half of the cutscenes can't be skipped too, so takes about 10 minutes before the player is truly let loose
The floating island they've showed in gameplay presentation - "Great Sky Island" - seems to be this game's equivalent of BotW's "Great Plateau"

It's not playable so far. Has awful 10 seconds audio desync and the FPS is low. That said they're just shitting out new Ryujinx versions by the second so I assume it's going to get better in a couple days.

The game runs extremely well with Ryujinx 1.1.743

I am currently playing in 1440p with maximum graphics settings, but the game is locked to 30 FPS.

4K/60 with SMAA on high on a Ryzen 5800X3D/4090 and 32GB of DDR4 in OpenGL mode. Vulkan struggles.
60FPS mod just needs to be fixed so cutscenes don't run at twice the speed and some minor instability but I'm not sure if that's the mod or Ryujinx itself.

Anyone here playing on real hardware btw? How's the performance? Read people saying it had frequent drops to the 15 fps range but I couldn't tell if they were just shitposting or not

Nintendo would've gotten $70 out of me if they ported it to PC. They chose not to, so now they get nothing. Looks like absolute shit on the hardware it's being released on Thank god for emulators because I'm not gonna tolerate this flickering/shimmering bullshit at 900p at <30FPS.

Nintendo is never going to port their games to PC
And technically speaking, videogame emulation is legal as long as you own a legal copy of the game

I'd be a lot more forgiving of Nintendo if their games ran at 30 fps 1080p, but they can't manage the bare-minimum.

Yes
Between yesterday's afternoon and today's midday, there's been at least 6 Ryujinx updates - plus the 60fps patch
The performance has been improved by 10fps (but there's still a shitload of visual artifacts), now I get on average 20fps - enough to dick around the tutorial area a little bit

Anyway

I am only planning to really play this by late July or early June
But here's my first findings:
-mechanically there's no changes from BotW
-the tutorial island unlike botw Plateau is progressed linearly; there's 3 section, you start in the middle corridor, where you get the Ultrahand spell which is needed to travel to the left section of the island, where i can assume the player gets another spell to progress to the right section of the island
-once the 3 shrines are completed you can enter the Temple of Time, after which is easy to guess you'll finally be able to dive into the overworld (just like the Plateau you get teleported up in case you fall)
-the "Ancient Civilization" this time around are goat people, with the guy that your new arm belonged to being your guide
-we already know from Nintendo's gameplay presentation the 3 main spells are Ultrahand, Fuse and Ascend; but the spell menu proves there's at least 4 more spells to be gained, which I assume are in the other sky islands (which by the way, looking at them from the horizon, there's not many of them and all seem smaller than this first one
-supposedly there's now a quite big underground world beneath the hyrule overworld
-apparently it really is 4 big "elemental" dungeons, plus Hyrule Castle, again

Again I have yet to complete even the tutorial area and I am only planning to seriously play this in the summer
But so far the impression I have is that this is more of same - BotW but bigger and more gadgets
It seems their boldness and risk taking ended with BotW success, with TotK they are playing it safe and just seem content with testing the waters

I doubt there will be yet another direct sequel to this game since Ganondorf is the Antagonist this time around
So perhaps in the next mainline Zelda will we see some significant changes to this new direction...

Also Nintendo is very much in containment mode
You can hardly find gameplay videos on youtube and several streamers have been shut down

Where are these updates? The only recent update was yesterday. Latest version is 1.1.743.
