they're just shitting out new Ryujinx versions by the second
Yes
Between yesterday's afternoon and today's midday, there's been at least 6 Ryujinx updates - plus the 60fps patch
The performance has been improved by 10fps (but there's still a shitload of visual artifacts), now I get on average 20fps - enough to dick around the tutorial area a little bit
Anyway
I am only planning to really play this by late July or early June
But here's my first findings:
-mechanically there's no changes from BotW
-the tutorial island unlike botw Plateau is progressed linearly; there's 3 section, you start in the middle corridor, where you get the Ultrahand spell which is needed to travel to the left section of the island, where i can assume the player gets another spell to progress to the right section of the island
-once the 3 shrines are completed you can enter the Temple of Time, after which is easy to guess you'll finally be able to dive into the overworld (just like the Plateau you get teleported up in case you fall)
-the "Ancient Civilization" this time around are goat people, with the guy that your new arm belonged to being your guide
-we already know from Nintendo's gameplay presentation the 3 main spells are Ultrahand, Fuse and Ascend; but the spell menu proves there's at least 4 more spells to be gained, which I assume are in the other sky islands (which by the way, looking at them from the horizon, there's not many of them and all seem smaller than this first one
-supposedly there's now a quite big underground world beneath the hyrule overworld
-apparently it really is 4 big "elemental" dungeons, plus Hyrule Castle, again
Again I have yet to complete even the tutorial area and I am only planning to seriously play this in the summer
But so far the impression I have is that this is more of same - BotW but bigger and more gadgets
It seems their boldness and risk taking ended with BotW success, with TotK they are playing it safe and just seem content with testing the waters
I doubt there will be yet another direct sequel to this game since Ganondorf is the Antagonist this time around
So perhaps in the next mainline Zelda will we see some significant changes to this new direction...
