    :hmmm:

Now that we know, these concepts are all NPCs in the game, I have to say, they look relatively bland compared to VtMB.

What do you mean by stealth? If somebody has their back turned to you they can't see you, there's your stealth.

If you're talking about some specialized ability related to stealth, the Thinblood has some of that: https://www.bloodlines2.com/en/thinblood

    Cool.

I hope they'll pull it off. Not gonna be easy if you're as scared of offending someone as they appear to be.

I meant a stat you can invest in, you know like in Vtmb 1 and a corresponding playstyle.
That ability is....meh, better than nothing I guess.

Yeah, this powerset just reaffirms my feeling that this will be Dishonored in gameplay. I was talking more about the dialogue system itself. I doubt that they can use full VTMB system to a tee nowadays.

Yeah, looks like the thinblood powers are all utility shit so they don't have to design as much inaccessible stuff. Every character's gonna get turning into a bat to access different areas, stealth abilities, and moving shit around.

Removing specialization is lame but it makes monetary sense given the desire to avoid making whole gameplay mechanics that only 1 clan can ever mess with

You mean dialogue trees??? The only thing unusual about the dialogue system in Bloodlines is that they mixed up the fonts.

Sad to see they chose the same clans that were available in the first Bloodlines game as well. Doubt we'll get anything exotic if and when they release some clan as free DLC, probably just Gangrel and that will tie into their story/expansion pack that they have outlined in their various editions that are available for preordering.

There's only six Camarilla clans. More exotic stuff is all kill on sight in Camarilla territory, more or less.

Not that it wouldn't be interesting, but it's not like D&D where you can just add more classes and not worry about anything

This is untrue. Not sure about the new relationship the Gangrel have with the Camarilla, but Giovanni, Setites, Ravnos and Assamites are all, grudingly, accepted. There are exceptions, of course, but these are... exceptions.

They did say in the interviews there'd be multiple factions at play here, so it can't be that Camarilla reigns supreme.

Well, in case of that list, a lot of Assamites have joined the Cam in the aftermath of the shenanigans of Ur-Shulgi (hey, there was also free room after the Brujah followed the Gangrel in leaving, and the Tremere top brass gettin' blasted by the Second Inquisition), Ravnos still on that bus they've been on ever since the Week of Nightmares thing (and this appears to remain the case), apparently the Giovanni got assfucked to effective extinction by the Second Inquisition and the Harbingers of Skulls, Setites had to evacuate Egypt due to Sabbat's Gehenna Crusade making everything worse in the Middle East and North Africa (tried to join the Camarilla since Ashirra would never have them, implication is that Assamites sabotaged this on purpose, so Setites are stuck with being loosely associated with the Anarchs), and Gangrel are where they were last time (out with the Cam, in with the Anarchs). Camarilla's actually much less tolerant of outsiders now because of the series of blows they've taken and the upsurge in Anarch numbers and powerbase (now it's not just a dismissive statement that all vampires are members of the Camarilla, it's an active "or else" threat).

Though the thing that bears mention is that Clan loyalties are not 100% absolutes, since there are still Brujah in the Camarilla for example and Assamite Antitribu in the Sabbat.

I am glad they didn't make the biggest mistake and leave out Malkavians from Bloodlines 2.

Kinda worried that Malks won't have as much dialogue difference as you'd expect them to and it'll just be a few differences here and there. Kinda like how Fallout New Vegas handled low INT. You really didn't see a lot of it in dialogue outside of a few instances compared to Fallout 1.

EDIT: It'll likely be better than the NV to 1 comparison but nevertheless a similar trend in downsizing that. I hope I'm wrong but I don't expect to be.

Are you referring to this part? Or is it in a different interview? Or I might have just missed it.
Because first of all, I don't completely trust what anyone says without any demonstration when they try to sell me something. I listen, sure, but I take it with a grain of salt. Sometimes it's a lot more than a grain of salt when it comes to anything that smells like a boldface lie or someone who has done it in the past.

Yeah, I do. There's nothing unusual for 2004, sure, but how many AAA or AA RPGs in the past five years have had dialogue trees of decent depth?

Paradox published an RPG less than three years ago with immense dialogue trees. If they cared enough to fund it for Tyranny, they’ll fund it for this beloved property they’re trying to resurrect. [glares silently]

I really wouldn’t worry about this. I know the dialogue wheel has become ubiquitous, but limited dialogue wheels are something you see in games with a voiced protagonist, which Bloodlines 2 won’t have. I can’t think of an RPG with the dialogue wheel and a nonvoiced protagonist. It’s just that every recent AAA RPG has had a voiced PC and that obviously creates an incentive for the developers to limit your dialogue options. Not the case here.

Perhaps one of the clans they release after launch will share the Ventrue's Fortitude discipline.
