Realizing what he wants is focus and not loose and spread out gameplay I think.
To me it just sounds like he's being contrarian for the sake of it since Wrathfinder is an improvement over Kingmaker from a buildcrafting perspective.
He’s not interested in buildfagginess if said buildfagginess isn’t utilized in an interesting way, unlike in KOTC2 where the AI and battles are interesting and tactical which I doubt there are many in wrath.

Pathfinder: Wrath
Except there is nothing remotely intellectually challenging about "Find the one weak spot and pray to the RNG".
Exactly. You have one set of data (a monster card) and another set of data (the list of spells and feats). You need to find something from the second set that matches the first. It is, like, what "expert systems" of 70's were kind of able to do when they tried to make the work of physicians cheaper.

And even this is nigh impossible for most of the Western players. Note that even the Turk rages not about encounters and mechanics, but about his imaginary emasculation by the Owlcat writers.

Tips on how to build ember, can I use her as a ray gun with ray spells (ascendant element), or just pure hexer? Her class is confusing me a bit.

Perhaps. I just find it fishy how radical of a change in stance he went for. Then again, might be a matter of heartbreak for a fanboy when the sequel doesn't live to his expectations. :M

Somehow this tick swarm infected itself with Bubonic Plague.

I honestly prefer the crusader system over the kingdom management one, although that's no high praise given that both are superfluous and only detract from the RPG experience.

I really wish that devs would stop tackling such gimmicky mechanics just for the sake of it, you either go full hybrid for better or worse (e.g. the Spellforce series as a mix between RTS and RPG) or you stick to RPG mechanics.

I'm very into cock and ball torture

Please. See:
Criticizing the UI elements compared to Chalice 2:
There has to be a better way of organizing the abilities. I have combat maneuvers, passives, spells, and other stuff all jumbled up in there.
wp1BKYu.png
This makes the combat feel so clunky to play in Turn Based. In Knights of the Chalice 2. I don't have to worry about that stuff. I press c. I get the spellcasting window (Which has every spellcasting ability in there):
IcQskJT.png
If I need combat maneuvers. They're neatly tucked in this window:
lLugrix.png
I want psionics, I press x - you get the idea. There's a dedicated UI for each thing. Where else in Wrath of the Righteous, it's all thrown in one place. Forcing me to search through each thing. Then put it on the hotbar. Then hope I remember it later.
Random thought on Turn Based mode:
I hope they've improved the Turn Based combat. Lately. Everything feels like a huge downgrade compared to Knights of the Chalice 2.
Me more talking about Chalice 2 and how Wrath's gameplay sucks:
I'm not sure if I agree with that. A couple of games I've played that can match or even surpass Wrath. In the Narrative Department you have: Colony Ship, which is shaping up to be a worthy successor to Age of Decadence. For Tactics, Enemy AI, and Combats you have Knights of the Chalice 2. Chalice has many features: Module Creation, Mod Support, Enemy AI that is likely far better than Wrath, etc. However, if there's one thing Wrath is probably going to excel at: build porn. Which is guaranteed due to mythic paths and the hundred something classes the game will ship with.
Lets not revise history here. Not to mention the feedback I've given in their surveys as well.

At least it is honest and it does inform you when it can't save your game for some reason instead of pretending that everything is ok until you try to load all of your 5 iterated saves to find all of them broken.
>At least it is honest
Honest how? I weep for those people that planned their character builds around a certain mythic path. Only to discover later on. That its broken. Yeah, okay, whatever you say Simildon.
The worse is that some of those cocksuckers in the beta, posting ton of screenshots, not pointing fingers at anyone especially, could warn us before we start the game . Hey guys dont build up according mythic paths they are completely broken still. But not they prefer to be smug, aggressive, arrogant and see other codexers get miserable when playing the game .

I bet that comparing to Pierre he can actually win at least one fight in his own game.
I haven't played KotC yet. Or know anything about Pierre to respond there. But I know Sawyer, Avellone, Miyazaki and Blakemore, and many others that can totally beat their games just fine.

Well, KoTC is an excellent little adventure.

KoTC 2 on other hand had such a glorious 1.0 version that comparing to it Wrath looks super polished. And even when this mess with endless crashes, corrupted saves and perpetually stuck combat got more a less fixed, the whole campaign is still just a four(!) medium sized maps glued together without any story, dialogues and even basic common sense. But with math puzzles and level 6 characters swinging +4 weapons in chapter 2.

I can still understand fetishizing something like ToEE where after all bugs and a village of highly questionable content you can at least get some classic adventuring and decent dungeon, but thing that Pierre took 30-60$ for I could barely call combat demo, never mind an RPG.

That's a funny thing to say when KotC2's tech demo has better map and encounter design than the entirety of Wrath of Righteous. It's also a blobber and that's good thing.

I just got Regill in my party, he is interesting but build is terrible. Too much Dex, terrible feats, focus on exotic weapon.. wtf
I might need to respec him.

Please just try to make him work one playthrough before doing this. Some of it is dependent on equipment yes but the whole thing does come together beautifully. Do what you need to to Fight Reduced without being encumbered (and make sure to keep Crusader’s Edge up) and you’ll be very happy.
Only if someone can tell me he gets some ability later that turns his Dex into damage...

Also, am I misremembering how alignment dialogue worked in Kingmaker?

In Wrath I can make Chaotic, or evil decisions (haven’t seen any double alignment dialogues yet, weird) as a neutral character, I specifically remember you not being able to do this in wrath, or am I misremembering Kingmaker. If not then :decline:

I'm not surprised that you prefer KotC over Pathfinder, Pink Eye. I'm surprised that you scrutinize Wrath so much more than Kingmaker.
When you place confidence and monetary support into a company. Expectations are made that Wrath will be an improvement over the last.
Buggy release aside (just as in the case of Kingmaker), to me it seems that the game is an improvement over its predecessor in every department.

For the record. I didn't even make it past Chapter 1. I just beat prologue three times. I only watched FriendlyMerchant's stream of late game. It didn't look like he was having fun.

You could do that in Kingmaker too, but some dialogue choices that carried C&C were locked behind your preexisting alignment.

If conossieurs of bugs want to see what a really bugged class looks like, try Shapeshifter in the NWN1. Also, Mask of the Betrayer did not even start if you used the original CD version, it required a 700 mb patch from the updater to get it simply running :salute:

I'm quite surprised how Pink Eye did his 180 turn. From mega Owlcat fanboy to being totally disinterested in Wrathfinder.
He/she simply got Sensuki'd. Muh ideas not implemented 100% = bad gaem (to be fair, Sensuki's criticism of Pillars was mostly right)
